hirty-eight year old Anne Gates frantically phoned police when she "discovered" the badly beaten body of her sixty-five year old husband. The attack was staged to look like the work of a prowler but police soon found out that Anne had been recently named the beneficiary of her husband's now sizable life insurance policy...and that she had been the recipient of a similiar payout years earlier with the murder of her first husband.
I was not particularly interested, in the beginning, but as the story unfolded, my interest peaked and I found myself intrigued. Pretty well written account. I wonder whether the author wrote from newspaper account or personal interviews. Interesting true crime story.
I can't recommend this book. It is ridiculously short and the writing is not good. The description of the woman in the first story is inaccurate as she is said to be a serial killer but does not match the description.
This book contains two true crime stories. Anne Gates was a Black Widow serial killer who murdered (or had murdered) two husbands for insurance benefits.
Jessica McCord was a crazy, narcissistic bitch who had her cop husband kill her ex-husband and his new wife.
If I had proofread this book, I would have corrected 15 errors.
