I remember taking this book in my hand just admired by the title itself and had a thought of buying this book though it's not my genre usually. This little one, didnt failed me I would say. It's extraordinarily written about a woman gathering herself in the relationship as well as in the career. - Polly was sweet and innocent and was a writer with impeccable taste. When she met her better half, she was not sure whether it will be in a right path but since he was interesting, she agreed to marry him. As a typical man, he never thought his wife would be talented and successful, and constantly made her to be in his taste and fled off when she protested that she can't. - It gave her time to reinvent herself with so much courage and boldness yet was not sure about how to lead her personal life. Then Mr.Wrong came and showered her with lot of love and treated her right. When she thought he was the man, he let himself shown and she started to get bored of his behavior. - Johnny was never a good husband but he was a true lover who didnt give up on her and failed miserably to understand her. There were complications but still they went for each other at the end. - Polly said it is always believed that no one was right and when we fall for wrong person, we can't stop it, even though, we know that it is going to destroy us even more. It happen to both the gender I guess. - Love is hard to find and people still believe that, it's the pleasure it makes it interesting. I would say it is the way they find it difficult to express their love to each other, though, they find it hard to live with them, they can't resist going after them at the end. But the presence of the person in our life is always valuable. One heck of a book it is 💞 I would recommend this book to people who love the reality more than the fantasy ♥️
I never want to be the person who gives a book a one star review. I understand the work and love that authors put into their stories and I respect it. However, there were a lot of things about this book that red flagged for me.
The lead, Polly, is not the brightest crayon in the box. She spends the entire book doing nothing but complaining about her controlling ex-husband. It seems like, in every chapter, she notates something he did that was awful and made you wonder why she even married or stayed with this guy in the first place. Ma'am, please wake up. Everything she says gives you a deeper glimpse into just how awful he is. The guy is a walking red flag and Polly doesn't seem much better, as she's a pushover who lets everyone walk all over her and thinks it's normal. Honestly, she seemed more like prey for a guy like him. Her judgment is poor and finding something to complain about is her chief personality trait.
But then she rushes back to him and gushes about how he's the greatest thing in the world in the end, after spending the entire book making a case for how he's practically Satan's sidekick.
There was absolutely nothing nice or kind or redeeming about this guy. I realize this book was written in the nineties, but ladies, please run fast and far from a man like this. His behavior is not sweet or romantic and you are worth more.

Second time I've read this and I remember liking it better the first time. I think since I first read it, I've read other books of similar types that are better but I did still enjoy it. Basically the story of a marriage that's wobbling and the question of whether the heroine's husband is Mr Right or Mr. Wrong and whether the other men she encounters are right or wrong for her. I won't spoil the end by saying who she ends up with. The author does a good job with the characters. They're all interesting and the world of book writing, agents and publishing is one I at least know a bit about. For a light read, it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours in the sun. Enough twists and turns to keep my interest.
