When I first saw this book, I thought it was an actual coloring in book.
I was very wrong, but I was not disappointed,
Crayon, is full of expert tips and hints, of how to work with crayon. The drawing step by step, for birds, flowers and other things is simply beautiful. The author is very creative and she shares her love of colour and art in the most beautiful and artistic ways.
Each page is filled with, sometimes quirky, but always fun, things to draw, paint and colour.
Techniques, tools and materials are covered and I really do think this is an amazing and original art book.
I found this at my library and I am delighted with it.
I have been looking for more tips and tricks to use my Neocolor II’s and this did not disappoint! I would have liked her to go in depth more about the exact supplies she uses like other Quarto Published books do, but I already had Neocolors so I’m not unfamiliar with supplies.
I just think researching into supplies can be daunting for newbies and water soluble crayons/artist grade are different from crayolas, so that’s my biggest issue with the book.
However, I loved the quirky little stories and facts she had about why she put the tutorials she did inside the book. It was fun to feel the connections to her doodles.
The step-by-steps will definitely be accessible to anyone who picks up the book and I love these beginner type art books to relax and let myself not think when it comes to my end of the day art.
Overall, this will probably be another I add to my collection to share with my friends when I host art nights.
Anytime Art: Crayon: A colorful guide to drawing with crayon for artists on the go! by Monika Forsberg is easy to follow and practical. This book is cute guide on crayon for artists but it can only be considered a beginner's level guide. This is perfect for someone who wants to learn how to draw. This book will teach you how to draw a few items; such as, cat, house, garden, shoes. The author gives step by step directions, which is necessary for someone just learning how to draw, in plain and simple language that is easy to understand.
I give this book 4.5/5 stars
I received this book from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster and Walter Foster Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I checked this book out on a whim, and it’s honestly so charming. It gives good technical advice, and really encourages creativity, exploration and just having fun. It felt really good to read as an artist in a years-long slump! Doing the exercises really helped encourage doing art as something fun for me again rather than a chore :) very good
This book is filled with fun ideas! As a former elementary school teacher, you could get lots of ways of using plain old wax crayons to do cool stuff. As an artist, I’m inspired to play!
Forsberg offers easy techniques to imbue color and vibrancy to images using crayons. This book made me realize how much I undervalue them as a coloring tool.
Clear simple drawings and i love the way the colors pop off the page. Great encouragement and guidance for those who want to start drawing as adults again or for kids!
This book is so much fun! My kids and I are reading it and practicing the crayon skills together. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger! I need more!

More than just an instructional guide. Filled with great Ideas and suggestions. How to create decorative artwork. Coloring is not just for children any more.
My rating of "Anywhere, Anytime Art - Crayon - An artist's colorful guide to drawing on the go" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
This is the first book of this particular series of art books that I have read and I found it useful for showing me the possibilities of this medium. The book helped me understand how the medium works and showed many examples of playful ways to use crayons. I was hoping that I could use crayons for nature journaling, but their chunky nature doesn't lend itself to the types of nature that I like to capture. Instead, it offered really fun ideas for creating whimsical character drawings, and a pleasant way to experiment with color theory. I like that it forces me to create more simplified shapes which is teaching me to see objects more clearly.
I was able to review a digital copy of this book thanks to the publisher and NetGalley. The author's drawings are whimsical and cute and I love the use of colour. I think this book is good for those wanting to be more creative and let loose. Not if you are hoping for any sort of realism. I think in terms of being a guide it is a very beginner guide. Actually, I think this book would be ideal for tweens or teens who love art actually, that is who I would buy it for.

Simple book focused on only crayons. Of course there are different types of crayons. Still, there is no need for a book on crayons. A paragraph could cover crayons. This book is colorful and a delight to see and I'm sure the author used crayons for the book cover illustrations.
This book is cute guide on crayon for artists but it can only be considered a beginner's level guide. In it there were some tips that I actually liked for instance blending colours and ending up with another shade, adding water to get better results and etc. It was a quick read and I hope the writer makes another book which would be a more intermediate level.
I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley. Thank you!!
