This series is enthralling, captivating and very very entertaining!!
Most endearing characters, their growth as humans has a big arc and the author excels in taking readers through a heartbreaking ride. The author has torn my heart in the first book 1 Possession it took me 2 more to see the repair patches holding up.
The highlight of this book is Beau's Misery, he's rolling on the floor in dismal agony and I should've felt vindicated for Lola, but somehow empty. My cravings and yearning matched Lola's and then the realization hits so hard in the last scene in the Grand Canyon...
Money changes everything but Love conquers all.
The tiny Colorado River has cut through the red mountains and her persistence has carved a path into it.
Are we still talking about the mountains??!!!!
Beautiful and captivating story, just poked holes in my soul.
Christian fox has done an outstanding job. Huge applause for him.
5 stars for Life that comes a full circle

A solid 3 stars. If I disregarded the last book, it would have easily been 4 stars though. I enjoyed the majority of the first 3 books (I did not read the novelette, mini serial, .25 of a .5...don't know what to call that one) but the end of book three and essentially the entirety of book 4 caused me to lose the investment I had in Lola and Beau's relationship. I got back on board toward the end of the last book, but I had to plow through the in betweens to get there.

Saying that, yes I would recommend this. I love the way this author writes; the storylines she tends to focus on is seriously right up my alley. The indecent proposal story line in this book? Yes, please. I just caution those who struggle with constant relationship back and forth.

FYI--this entire set is temporarily on sale for $0.99 in preparation for Jessica's newest release coming soon (which is also on preorder sale for $0.99), so if you have been on the fence about whether or not to take the plunge you can do so at a super affordable price.

Indecent Proposal with Hawkins' own spin. Beau's a bit of a Neanderthal; so if like that kind of thing, you'll enjoy this one.

I read straight through the "boxed" set of the Explicitly Yours series. Not sure why the author retitled everything in it, but I like the new titles better. I enjoyed the series very much. The first couple of titles especially. The writing is solid and the characters have very strong personalities. Beau is rather clueless about why Lola initially turned him down (covered in book 2.5 and reference in the others), not seeming to realize that for many people there are more important things in life than money and some things money just can't buy. The last book is probably the weakest, although I'm a sucker for an HEA, I thought But overall, I give the set 5 stars.

Once again I’m not disappointed in Jessica Hawkins’ story, in this case, a unique antsy series of four full length books. I loved Lola and Beau’s story, it pulled me in from the start. Beau lived a life focused on money and revenge on Lola. His proposition was based on that and didn’t like him at that point nor did I like Johnny taking him up on that. I like how Lola found herself and her way back or rather Beau’s way to her. A must read!

Unpredictable ride ahead ❤️

Possession #1
Totally not what I expected. The plot of this one had me curious and not sure of I'd like it or not. I'm still unsure as Beau is so confusing. Just as poor Lola is confused so am i about my feelings for beau. But he's a sweetheart can't deny that even though he operated a bit unconventionally.
From the moment they place their eyes upon each other, there's an undeniable spark between Lola and beau. But lola is already in a committed relationship with her long time boyfriend Jonny. An evening of playing darts, drinks and fun chatting turns into the unexpected when beau puts forth a totally unpredictable and shocking proposition. What wil lola do. The book is written so tastefully its like taking a journey into the unknown and the unexpected. Loved this. ❤️❤️

Domination #2
Wow. Just. I'm so speechless as to what the hell just happened. Woah. This book will definitely make your head spin for sure. Lola can't stop thinking about Beau about their time together. But she has a future to look forward to with Jonny. So they make plans on building their business after buying Hey Joe's. But life is always ready to throw a curveball your way. So when beau offers another tempting offer, Lola has to decide does she really need the money or is she willing to use the pretense of a better future as an excuse to be with beau again.
Just when I thought things were finally going the way they should. BOOM....Totally didn't see that ending coming. I'm not sure what Lola is going to do now. But soo ready to find diving straight into book 3.

Provocation #3
Wow. Just when I think that I have all the answers suddenly everything gets flipped and their are now more questions than before. This book was certainly not what I expected. It was shocking to know that Lola goes back to beau. Honestly I hated beau at the beginning but now I'm not sure either. But yeah still not team beau though. I think this book is one of the rare ones where there was not even a single intimate scenes. But yet you could feel the conflicting emotions lola was feeling. Damn girl though. I'm totally liking her more in this book. For her spirit her strength. By the end I was like...What the... Yeah... That ending totally threw me off. Can't wait to read the final one anymore. I just have no idea with the given circumstances how the author has wrapped this one up. Can't wait to find out. ❤️

Obsession #4
This book. ❤️. Finally I'm team Beau. That man. The way he breaks himself down in this book just about won my heart just like Lola's at the end. This book was fast paced for me in the sense that I just couldn't stop reading. As beau was in a race to find Lola so was I to find out what happens. The surprises and emotional journey was so beautiful and heart touching. ❤️❤️

Overall series rating 4 stars. A great angsty series with two deep, complicated characters. You can't not like Lola, she's a fighter, strong and knows her own mind. The writing was good and the storyline developed.

I can't connect with the story and the characters at all. Maybe I will try the books later, but for now I discontinue. DNF without rating as I didn't get too far into the story.

Recently I have had a hard time finding books that really blow me out of the water but this one did just that. The concept itself is very interesting in my opinion. Let's be honest here, I think we can all agree that the fantasy of having a hot millionaire come in and ask to spend time with you, even if you are already in a relationship, gets the mind going. I really loved how the author made the conversations around the proposal as true to life as I would expect. A huge underlying message that I seemed to notice a lot was on making sacrifices for the ones you love, and how sometimes that can back fire (in good and bad ways).

The author did an amazing job with character building and you really get a chance to see both their amazing attributes, but also their flaws. Yes, there were moments where I wanted to scream at both of them for being so stubborn and not just letting the past go, but that's how it is in real life... Obviously with not as much money involved, or as high of stakes, but there is a lot of truth to that. Lola is amazing. She is strong, smart, she knows herself and is honest about her flaws. She's fantastic! With that said, there were a couple of parts where I felt Beau was a little aggressive and kind of a dick, but now that I have finished everything I understand the thought behind it. The beautiful part about all of that is the voice actor did such a good job making him sound like a dick that I actually got upset with him and the tone he used with Lola multiple times. Props to Christian Fox for the amazing delivery! I can't imagine anyone else reading this one.

The thing that I loved the most about this book was the intimacy. Yes the sex was hot, but sex is different when there is intimacy and vulnerability involved. The conversations they had when they were together, the flirting, being open and honest with each other, that was really what drew me in because the author made it feel real. I will definitely be looking for some more books like this one, and I highly recommend giving this one a try if you haven't already.

The only thing that I really wish would have been included is a short epilogue. I would have loved to hear a bit of what happened down the line instead of it just ending where it did, but I am also content with what I got and will just let my mind finish that last part up.

As a whole series, this is worth a credit. The story of Lola and Beau takes place in a ten year span, but one sidedly. Let me explain, after ten years, Beau cross paths with Lola again. She refused his advances and in the span of one night ten years later he enacts his revenge.

We all know how that works, especially when you let your heart get involved in a moment of weakness.

An indecent proposal that happens not once, but twice. The realization that the safe place you’ve made for yourself isn’t really yours. The consequences when the game that’s being played turns into something completely different than what you expected.

Lola is a great character. Seeing her settle for less than she deserves is hard. To know Beau dangles material things when she really doesn’t want that much. She wants to be heard. She wants to be loved.

Beau is complex and infuriating. I like that while he was a semi-ruthless businessman, he had a desire to give people opportunities. At the same time, he is this rich man who had no problem enjoying high end whiskey, but balked at a $3 cup of coffee.

Beau’s manipulation of Lola is consuming. It’s also hot.

Now here’s the thing with this audio, Christian Fox does a BRILLIANT job with narration. Personally I’m not a fan of third person, but Jessica Hawkins writes it where it translates nicely here and Christian shines. Also, this is more of a book pet peeve, but the HEA was a bit too perfect. I did love the dream Beau had. It sort of balanced how I felt about it.

Read dates are from books 1-4.

WOW what a series. 4.5 star read. SPOILERS!!!

Jessica Hawkins catapulted her way into a one click author for me. This story was raw, and real and ravishingly romantic. I loved both Beau and Lola. They had so much passion, they loved with their entire being. Such open vulnerability that at times, I full on teared up and had to take a moment and breathe!! 😮‍💨 Jessica tried to break my heart with these truly real life situations that cut you RIGHT open.
Even though this was 4 books long I still couldn’t get enough. It dragged in a few places while she travelled and left some unanswered questions. I was DYING to know if she ever went back for her money that Johnny actually owed HER, or if he was ever able to buy the bar with it? Did Amanda stay? Did he leave her? Did he ever Pune for Lola? Did they ever meet again?! I have so many questions. Did Weber and Brigette make it? Get married? Did Lola’s mom become a part of her life? Did they have a boy or a girl?! I mean…so much I still NEED to know. Maybe the epilogue is out there somewhere I need to find it. Other than all those questions? I loved this series.
I don’t believe I ever heard Christian Fox narrate before but I loved him. His voice was smooth, rich, velvety and demanding. Yummy! He was able to do Lola well too! Gentle cadence that didn’t seem over done. You could easily distinguish who was who.
All in all, I’m a fan of Jessica Hawkins now and am on my way to another series of hers. She writes so passionately that I can’t get enough. The emotions she evokes?! Just wow 🤯 Cheers!!

I totally loved this series and read the four books and listened to on audible. Each time from a diferent perspective. From lula's then from Beau's. Each person in the book was so real and descriptive and the story development was complete, giving the reader an understanding of the deception and what was real.
Beau and lula met when Beau was 27 and he had just sold his company for millions and was all alone after working and giving up connections to create this company. He walks by into a topless club and sees Lula on stage and wants her. Thinking he could buy her for a night, he offers her money she refuses, then keeps offering her more money, but she tells him that she is not for sale. Ten years later he brings two men to the bar she is working at for a night of getting to know them, as he is an angel investor of startup companies. He recognizes Lula after ten years, but she does not recognize him. She has been living with Johnny for eight years after she left stripping with Johnny's help, working with him at the bar called Hello Joe. Beau offers Johnny $500,000 for one night with Lula then offers to negotiate at his office. They end up with Beau offering one million for one night. Then the story begins.

Characters so real they jump to life from the page

These are my 1st books I've read by Jessica Hawkins. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was happily surprised to find an author I'll definitely be reading a lot more by. Honestly, after reading the whole series and knowing all the twists, turns, & surprises. I'm going to read it again. Understanding & knowing the motives behind actions will make it a pleasurable re-read. There were somethings I truly did not see coming. Which doesn't happen often. So, it made the books even better to me.

I was impressed by how real the author was able to make the characters. It's rare to find an author that truly seems to understand human emotions as complex as they can be. Then translate that to the page in a way you not only understand but can feel. That made these characters jump to life from the page. You can feel the passion, anger, hurt, love, everything they go through.

These books are a slow build. They aren't full of fast paced drama and action. They are full of the complex relationships between people. Their emotions & watching love build, grow, burn, & hopefully build again. There are some pretty steamy sex scenes.

The books are in my opinion definitely worth a read.

I bought book one (audiobook—the narrators are amazing!), and then saw the box set. Had. To. Have. It! This begins with Possession where a couple (Lola and Johnny)) are met with an unorthodox proposition by a sexy-as-sin billionaire named Beau. But, it's one that could get them what they need, make their dreams come true. Or is it? It only involves Lola. And Johnny can't see past his own desires.
The problem is, the proposition becomes much more than that. These characters (Lola and Beau) will suck you in and have you rooting for both of them, even when one is a gigantic jerkface. He has his reasons. She has hers.
Grab a fan (because, HOT!) and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of this series. There is emotional damage and heartbreak that must be overcome, but it's well worth each and every second. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. My only complaint is that it ended, but, oh, how it ended. I would love to have an Epilogue, though! *Hint* We need to know more... *Hint*
Five Steaming-hot Stars! I highly recommend this series to anyone who *doesn't* want a sweet little romance. This is anything but, and it's perfect!

One reviewer said it best when they described this book as a cross between "Indecent Proposal" and "Pretty Woman." It was well written; the author engrosses the reader throughout the entire group of books; as well as having you feel the tension, anxiety, anger, lust, and love that occurs between the main characters Beau and Lola. The author's writing style also makes you feel terrible sadness that occurs within Lola when she realizes life can't go back the way it was before she accepted his proposal. For me anyway, I really like the fact that the Lola, through it all, keeps her inner core strong, determined not to become the "victim" while also teaching Beau a much-needed lesson. What was great with the box set is that even though each book ended in a cliff hanger, the next book was right there. I think, if I had to read book one then wait for the next one to be published, I would have been annoyed.

What... a twist!

I love love loved this book! I wanted more of the ending... actually, I wanted more of all of it, lol. I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while now and I definitely took my time with it. It was perfect. Definitely caught my emotions by surprise and didn’t let go. I didn’t like what it took but I loved that Lola got stronger. Beau and Johnny played their roles great and, in the end, Lola was happy and that was all that mattered. There was a twist with Beau that caught me off guard but it explained a ton also. I wish I would’ve seen past the ending. Maybe an epilogue a couple years down the road but, regardless, brining a man to his knees is always a pleasure! Definitely a must read!

Ok,
it started with litte credible dialogues and by the time of the proposition scene the writing was getting better and better. The story was dragged, and there were very few moments of interaction between Beau and Lola. This book should not be considered erotica, it had only a sex scene and it was rushed and little explained. The whole last book was a chase game but the writing was so good that I could not stop, until the last 3 chapters when it seemed written by a teenager. The dialogs were so stupid I could not believe. It destroyed the whole story. The resolution is left until truly the last page. What a waste of good stuff. It seemed that the start and the finish were written by another person. I was shooting for the 5 stars but no, not deserved.

For me, this was Jessica Hawkins take on Indecent Proposal. I think she did a great job overall with the story of Beau and Lola.

I loved Beau. He believed that money could buy him anything and everything and Lola was the only person who could prove him wrong. Lola was strong but at times she could be very weak. The two of them together was explosive and very steamy. They were an interesting match.

Book 4 was my least favorite of the series. Thankfully, I was given my HEA and it was wrapped up the way that I hoped it would. Jessica never disappoints and I would recommend this series if you like books with triangles that are hot and hold nothing back.

5-star series

This was the perfect tale of lust, love, deceit, revenge, and forgiveness. And it's all wrapped up in one hot AF book series. Beau and Lola are fire and ice. Right from the start their chemistry burns through the pages, making their forbidden actions seem so right.

While this series starts with an indecent proposal<\i> style twist, it develops into something that delivers a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings. At one point I was speechless, Jase hanging up the floor, at another time I was angry and vengeful. In the midst of all of it I was hopeful that this author would deliver an HEA, and she did so in spectacular fashion.

This book wrecked me, gave me whiplash, then patched everything up. The growth that these characters went through in the final book was so perfectly scripted. Their road to redemption and forgivenese wasn't bumpy and harsh, but well deserved.

Overall, I loved this series. It was sexy, bold, and unforgettable.

I LOVED this series. I couldn’t stop reading. What a story. If you’re reading this review wondering if you should get the whole collection- do it! I could not stop thinking about the book. I had to keep reading. As I read it I would summarize it to my husband and he was interested in it. I was not expecting the ending (even though my husband called it) but I loved it. My first reaction to this was that this has to be made into a movie! Or this story needs to continue. In my head I can picture the rest.. I absolutely loved Lola and Beau’s love-hate relationship. The way their love scenes were described was so good. I am thinking of rereading this again so that I can enjoy it again.

Wow! What a great series!

Wow! What a great series! I absolutely loved it! It kept my attention all the way through, you never knew what was around the corner! I loved absolutely everything about this story but mostly I loved the growth of Oliver! It takes a lot for someone to admit there mistakes and look inside themselves and truly find what is most important to them. Lola I think could have done things a little differently but it all worked out! I highly recommend this series !

Another reader described this series as Indecent Proposal (Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson & Robert Redford movie) meets Pretty Woman (Julia Roberts and Richard Gere) where our Hero, Beau, is the billionaire who dangles an offer in front of our heroine, Lola and her boyfriend, Johnny. I liked that each book in the series focused on a different aspect/phase of the relationship rather than to have a story drag out over four books. The series ended with a HEA, but it would have been better to have an epilogue.

5 stars for Christian Fox's narration
2 stars for story line
3 stars for strong writing

Too bad Beau didn't fall off the Grand Canyon ridge. Not because he deserved to die but Lola was soooo righteous and blaming Beau when she accepted his money in exchange for sex. She had no dire desperate life. She only wanted to buy a bar for her boyfriend. Constantly talking about what Beau did to her, blah, blah, blah. What about what she did to herself? What she chose to do to herself? She wasn't even blackmailed. He was not a good man but she sucked. 🙄

Best lost sleep I’ve ever had

How far would you go to get even? Would you hold a plan for revenge for over a decade just to see the look on their face when it all falls down..
Beau fell head over heels in love with her at first sight. Lola the object of his affection had no clue that turning down a date with a customer would be the biggest mistake of her life. Then the coin flips again when the shoe is on the other foot and Lola proves hell has no fury like a woman scorn…Can their obsession with each other survive their desire to watch the other burn.

Intriguing and addictive 🔥💞🔥💞

Yes, the start of this story may not be totally original, as it is reminiscent of the movie Indecent Proposal, but when you read the complete series, you’ll find that it’s much deeper and much more than what appears at first. It’s intriguing and addictive, to say the least, and there’s no denying the eroticism, as well as the heat 🔥 and chemistry between Lola and Beau.

I’m happy I continued with the entire series… well worth it. 4 steamy, hot stars 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
