"I did not understand what Coherence the Words Honour and Obey had with the Liberty of a Free Woman ... seeing Liberty seem’d to be the Men’s Property, I wou’d be a Man-Woman; for as I was born free, I wou’d die so."Defoe's books were 18th century equivalent of paperback originals. I enjoyed the phrasing and the characters (especially Amy and the QUAKER). But it had too much repetitive Grimacing and it had no ending (this is discussed in the introduction and the appendix).
