BDSM club Corazon de la Muerte, Kansas City

Someone is killing the vampires of Kansas City and Master Vampire, Guillermo Perez is suspect number one. Can Dr. Nathan Greer help find a killer and at the same time discover a way to control his vampire cravings?

In book 1 of her bestselling series, Kansas City Vampires, USA Today bestselling GLBT author Renee George, writing as G.R. George, spins a thrilling tale of intrigue, suspense, and murder. A Reluctant Vampire will keep you turning the pages from beginning to end.

After years of resisting his nature, Dr. Nathan Greer is finding it harder and harder to control his vampire cravings. After almost killing a co-worker, he is forced to seek help from his own kind, no matter how much he despises them. Unfortunately, his only hope, Guillermo Perez, Kansas City's master vampire, and owner of BDSM club Corazon de la Muerte, doesn't do anything without strings attached.

Guillermo is powerful, sexy, and more self-assured than anyone Nathan has ever known. The last thing Nathan ever expected was to fall under the spell of this ancient vamp--and he certainly didn't plan to find relief in another man's arms. But when Guillermo begins to distance himself from Nathan, he begins to doubt if the connection he felt for Gui is real.

Nathan's life gets more complicated when he finds out that vampires around the city are being executed, and his ex-fiancé, Anna, is the lead medical examiner for the murders. Anna, who doesn't know about Nathan's vampire status, wants to pick up their relationship where they left off. Nathan, however, can't get a certain master of the city off his mind.

When Guillermo is accused by an ancient vampire, Min, of the killings, he must defend himself and his city. While trying to find the killer, Nathan and Guillermo discover their need for each other is more than desire. But can they reconcile before one of them loses a heart?

This contemporary gay romance contains vampires, shapeshifters, gay and bisexual explicit erotic content and is not intended for readers under 18.

This was an impressively written tale centering around Nathan, a vampire who pretty much hates what he's become, and Guillermo, a master vampire and owner of a night club. The characters are fascinating, except for Nadine, who wanted Gui to herself and was also the one who turned Nathan. She's hateful, violent, and Irritating. The love story between Gui and Nathan is okay, however, I'm used to vampires or shifters being loyal to each other once they hook up or mate (but that's just me). The sex was still fiercely hot and the plot was suspenseful and engrossing. I was significantly absorbed into the story. Okay,,,,,, Spoiler,,,,,,,,,,,, I was just a bit upset when Gui suddenly starts pulling away from Nathan especially when he was the one who wanted him so badly in the first place. I know that he felt as if the relationship was getting in the way of his business, but still, I was frustrated. Afterwards, the story gets even more exciting and my frustration dissipates, yay. :) This was ultimately a very enthralling read. :)

New to me author.

I enjoyed this short but very romantic male/male story. Nate is a doctor but after he has been turned his beast within makes it hard for him to be who he and what he is. There is no love loss between Nate and Nadine who is the one that turned him. Nadine is very jealous and vindictive.
Nate finally has had enough and is in need of Guillermo' help. Well something develops between these two men that is much more than a roll in the hay. Although a Master Vamp, Gui doesn't push the status towards Nate.

Very good, short, first book in this series.

There is so much wrong with this book. First off, there's a misrepresentation in the title which say "Male Male Gay Vampire BDSM Romantic Suspense" as it's descriptor. There is far more M/F sex in this than M/M, and there's really no bdsm either except as a background prop for the vampire club that Guillermo the master vampire owns. There's not really any romance happening in this either, it's mostly just generic erotica. It makes little sense that Nathan goes from decking Guillermo for flirting with him to having anal sex with him. There's brief, weird descriptors of stuff that's not plot related (Nadine's origin) and characters that are arbitrary and unneeded (Anna). The plot is relatively simple with not much planning or mystery behind it. Guillermo also says something in Spanish and then repeats it in English throughout the book, which honestly is not as bad as trying to read an affected accent, but comes awfully close. Even the sex scenes aren't very good as they are littered with cliche "Faster"s and "Harder"s. Not recommended. Oh, and everything is silky! Seriously? Use another descriptor.

It a romance adult novel. And there are different dynamics in that m/f, m/m, m/m/f. That being said if you are looking for an adult romance book with those dynamics that is also supernatural (vampires are in the title).... it was one of the best adult books I have read. It was graphic and steamy while also being detailed and having a decent story. I will for sure be looking at the others in this series.

Excellent short read

Great love scenes and well-developed characters plus a short story line make for an enjoyable read. Would like to read more from this series.

I guess this would have been an enjoyable read if it only had been more than a draft.
As it is, it feels so shallow it is impossible to enjoy it.

I must say that I liked the story line and the characters in this book. The author gives the main character a struggle between being human and vampire. I can't wait to read book 2 now.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
