Don’t miss this sweet companion novella to The Athletic Groom by Lucy McConnell.

Physical therapist Elise Smith lands her dream job with the St. George Redrocks. She loves baseball and knows each player on sight before her first day of work. With the team in turmoil after the owner hires a new manager, Elise works hard to make a good impression and follow all the rules. But there’s something about relief pitcher Blake Rygs that leaves her light headed and impairs her judgment. When they are caught kissing in the physical therapy room, Elise is placed on probation. If she can’t stay away from Blake, she could lose her job. The only problem is that Blake is everywhere and it doesn’t take long before he’s worked his way into her family’s hearts by loading groceries, crashing birthday parties, and changing flat tires. The more she learns about Blake the harder it is to stick to the “no dating” rule. Can she walk away from the career she’s always dreamed of to have the man of her dreams or will the rule be a permanent delay of game?

I'm loving this new Dating Mr. Baseball series.

We first meet Elise and Blake in The Athletic Groom. This book takes place during the same timeframe, but from their POV. I thought the author did a great job having the stories overlap but still stand completely on its own. I liked Elise and Blake quite a bit, they have an instant chemistry, but are unable to do much about it since their work forbids interoffice romance.

A fun read and I look forward to reading more in this series!

I loved Lucy’s Billionaire Marriage Broker series. This is a companion novel to the book The Athletic Groom. It can be read as a stand-alone but I think I liked it so much because I got to revisit characters I loved from The Athletic Groom. The books take place at the same time so you get to see Elise & Blake’s version of what is going on.

This one starts off with a relationship built solely on attraction. Basically, they look at each other, touch and are making out in no time. Typically I prefer stories where there is some relationship development before characters are making out but the circumstances and consequences worked for me.

This is a quick one sitting read that is full of wonderfully likable characters. Good clean fluffy fun.

Rating: 4 Stars – Great Book

Growing up in the Smith household, it was a given that Elise's first love would always be baseball. But when she blew out her knee her life would take a different course. Landing her dream job as one of the Physical Therapists for the St. George Redrocks was just one of the silver linings to her injury. The other? Relief pitcher Blake Rygs. ;)

The moment Blake met Elise he knew he was in trouble. There was just something about her that called to him. From that first touch she was in his head and under his skin. There was an instant connection that both of them felt. But getting caught kissing by Coach Wolfe in the PT room put a damper on their "relationship". There was a strict no dating policy and if they were caught violating the rule, Elise would lose her job.

Elise does her best to stay away from Blake. She really needs this job. She can't let her family down. But the more time she spends trying to stay away from Blake, the harder it gets. Especially when he does his best to keep himself in her life.

Blake knows that he's meant to be with Elise. There is no question about it. She is his happily ever after and he will do everything in his power to make sure they end up together. He will bide his time until he can approach coach about lifting the no dating policy. After all, he's married to the owner of the team so how is that fair?!

I absolutely loved Elise and Blake! These two were made for each other! There were definitely some swoony moments between these two... ;) And I loved that Elise's family welcomed him with open arms. It was so fun to see all of them together. And how about that Kiss of Death?! ;) You'll just have to read the book to see what I'm talking about... hehe.

I haven't read a Lucy McConnell book that I didn't like. I am loving all these series she's writing. From billionaires to baseball to Snow Valley... it gives me lots of options for reading.. ;)

And this casting... *dreamy sigh* I love it! What do you think?

A Home Run

This novella is a spinoff from Lucy McConnell's The Athletic Groom, and the first book in the Dating Mr. Baseball series. It can be read independently. I am already squealing inside that there will be more books about the baseball players on the Redrocks team.

Delay of Game is about relief pitcher Blake Rhys and physical therapist Elise Smith. Elise has just started working for the Saint George Redrocks and is thrilled to have her dream job with an MLB team. She is warned immediately that there is a no dating rule with the players because the last PT caused some problems. She thinks the rule will be no big deal until she meets Blake. She is drawn to him, and he seems to be feeling the same thing. Can she risk her dream job for a shot at love?

I loved Blake and Elise's romance! Even with the odds or rules stacked against them, Blake found ways to insert himself into Elise's life. I love that he didn't give up, but still took her employment seriously.

These books just come to life. I feel like I am getting an insiders glance at Major League Baseball, and I love it. I can't wait to see more of this team!

The start of a new series! Yay! This book comes as a shoot off from The Athletic Groom. The two main characters from this book have a few moments in The Athletic Groom and this book fills in all the gaps. I loved it! It was fun and I really enjoyed seeing moments from The Athletic Groom from a different viewpoint.

Elise and Blake have an intense connection that is hard to deny. From the first time Elise touches Blake (she is a physical therapist for the baseball team Blake pitches for) she feels the sparks fly. But, it's even deeper than a physical attraction. Every time the two are around each other things feel intense and crackling. Super fun.

This is going to be a fun series because I love baseball, clean romance and St. George! :) I can't wait for the next one!

This was a fun companion book to The Athletic Groom. It was fun to see some of the things that happened in The Athletic Groom from a different perspective. We saw some of Blake's and Elise's story in that book, but I enjoyed reading their whole story from their own perspectives. This is a standalone - you don't have to read The Athletic Groom first, but I'm glad I did.

Blake is a relief pitcher for the St George Bedrocks, a professional baseball team. Elise has landed a job as a PT for the team, and the chemistry is there from the beginning. But there is a rule that you can't date the players, and Elise really really needs this job for her family. But then Blake starts showing up everywhere in her life and it's becoming harder and harder to resist him.

Loved this book! I had read Athletic Groom before reading this book(which I would recommend, but is not necessary). Love how both books compliment each other. Another thing I like is how there is a lot of crossover between the books. Can't wait til the others are written. The one thing I love about this author, she writes in a way that the characters come alive. In reading the story, I can see it unfold in my minds eye. This book is a define must read. It is fun, fast read.

Fun!

This was such a fun book! I loved the introduction of the characters from The Athletic Groom and looked forward to seeing the romance between the protagonists unfold in this book! I was not disappointed. It was so ineresting to see the sports medicine and baseball worlds interact. The romance was sweet and clean, I'd rate it PG. This was a reread for me and I look forward to reading it again and for more wonderful books from Lucy McConnell.

OMGosh, OMGosh, OMGosh!!!! Each and every page... 😍😍😍

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.

Elise and Blake

Elise Smith has been hired to her dream job: physical therapist for the MLB St. George Redrocks.
Blake Rhygs is is a premier relief pitcher for the Redrocks.
At first touch these two have a connection but their time together could be cut short. After getting caught kissing in the PT room, by the manager no less, they are given a no fraternizing between players and other personnel rule.
Will Elise lose her dream job or will Blake get traded away? Through the behind-the-scenes look at baseball and angst and humor Ms. McConnell has written a great book about love and the things people will do for romance.

I love Lucy McConnell and this story was no exception! I don't even really like baseball but I still really enjoyed this sweet story about Elise and Blake. I didn't realize that this was a companion book to The Athletic Groom, so I was pleasantly surprised to recognize some of the characters when I began reading! This can be read as a stand-alone, but the plot happens to be happening at the same time as the story in The Athletic Groom so I recommend reading both to get two different perspectives of some of the events that occur.

*sigh* I loved this one! You get a sneak peek of the main characters for this book in the Athletic Groom. I love when an Author connects with their Characters so much they get their own books! Elise and Blake need their own story after the short scenes they have in the other book this one was due. I love their instant bond and connection. I love that they wanted to be together but we're trying hard to stay away because it was forbidden. This was a great afternoon read on a day of housework procrastination! This series gets better with every single book!

Adored it! I was so intrigued by Blake and Elise in The Athletic Groom and was thrilled to see they were getting their own story. It was everything I hoped for and more! Ms. McConnell did a great job of creating the Redrock team and it was like visiting old friends. I can't wait for more in this series!

Physical therapy can be steamy!

I read this book in one day, because I couldn't put it down! How often do you find true love in the locker room with your PT? The sizzling steam between these 2 with just a touch & a kiss is amazing, but clean!

Insight to sports players

I loved this book from the very first page. The fact of touch being so intimate and done innocently was amazing. The family dynamics reminded me of growing up,I wouldn't mind seeing this book be book one of the Smith family and the Redrock players.

Homerun

This was a fun book to read. There is humor, romance and love of family. Although the path to love wasn't easy these two made it for a homerun.

Delay of game

Elise is the new PT for a major league baseball team. Recent scandal has invoked a no-dating policy. Too bad her first player has all the potential to be Mr. Right.

5/5 clean teen rom-com, the baseball pitcher and the physical trainer who was a former catcher, their perfect match!
I absolutely loved this book, the only dowbside to it was, the fact that it wasnt till the last few chapters the couple was able to be public, which is understandable with the no-dating policy, but they really make the coach out to be a bad guy. I wish the writer gave a bit more redemption for the coach, but it doesnt. The only reason the ban was dropped was because of the coaches wife, which is also the owner.
I love the small details about baseball in this book, like how the MC caught the tape with her palm out (just like a catcher) or even the baseball terms every baseball coach/player/umpire would understand. Although, you dont have to know much about baseball to read this book, youll enjoy it just as much.
Id give this book a 5/5, is funny, its sweet, it aggravates you.. It takes you in its own personal tour, and by the end of it, youve got your moneys worth. Theres some kissing in the book, but not tkk detailed. There may have been a little cursing, but it was very minor. Other than that, nothing but holy. I would recommend this book to all, but for some ages it would be harder to truly connect to it, because you have to fully be able to wrap your head about the concept and the risks, so with that in mind; ages 14+.

Delay of game is a sports romance set in the world of baseball. Elise is a physical therapist whose new job on with the Redrocks team is in jeopardy because of her blossoming romance with Blake.

Elise needs the job to support her parents and siblings. She’s a relatable character because many readers understand the importance of family, and being a good provider. Elise’s first day on the job is rattled because of her attraction to Blake. The hunky baseball player finds himself falling for the new physical therapist. Despite Elise’s best efforts to avoid Blake, he becomes a constant presence in her work and home life. Although Blake has a reputation as a ladies man, his views change when he’s with Elise.

This was a short read, and it’s a sweet story. Although, I feel it could also be a full novel with more development. The characters are relatable, and the plot had its dramatic and lovely moments. A good read for sports romance enthusiasts.

Just a double!

Just saying I love that the Redrocks are based in Utah as that’s my home. A star “player” who’s determined not to get serious has met his match when he sees the new physical therapist. But there’s that pesky rule-players and employees can’t date. There’s enough sports in here to satisfy the sports fan, and then there’s the forbidden romance to make the romantic heart sigh. All is not roses as they are still a Ho hum team but looking up and her dad still doesn’t have a job but that’s life and so all’s good. Clean. Loved getting her family involved in the story as that’s life too.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Physical Therapist Elise Smith who loves baseball, lands a job with the St George Redrock baseball team where she meets Blake Rygs who is one of the relief pitchers for the team. They are drawn to each other but the new manager has a rule about not dating team members. Blake ends up working his way into the lives of her family members and the attraction grows. A heartwarming book with a look into professional baseball.
