This is a quick little glimpse in to Marjorie's life. Set in Chicago 1927. Marjorie works for Marshall Fields.
Very well written. I look forward to more of her story coming out this fall.
If you wish to follow her blog you can do so here http://marjoriecorrigan.blogspot.com/...

She is having a bit of trouble catching up to today's modern technology and terminology though.

In this short story, Mrs. Moran – the landlady – is caught red-handed, and the cops question her stovetop brew. Told by Marjorie, I got a kick out of the dénouement. It was quite unexpected and clever.

Well past midnight I was jerked from a sound sleep by brilliant flashes of red and blue light that sliced through the window, splashed across the ceiling, and ran down the walls. I flew down the stairs and found the door to Mrs. Moran’s apartment flung wide open.
