Does everyone deserve a happy ending?

Giselle Moore has been through a lot in her short life but things are looking up; her premier art showing in New York City is on the horizon, she has been reunited with her family and, most of all, she is deeply in love with the mysterious Frenchman she met on vacation in Mexico.

There is only one thing that could derail her happiness and that is her guilt over her forbidden relationship with Sinclair. After finally confessing their love for each other, the two decide to travel to Paris, France where they may begin to discover what it really means to be together.

When a terrible family accident beckons them back home, the return of sinister man from the past, crumbling business deals and a family that has turned against them tests their fledgling romance and the very idea that they could possibly live happily ever after.

The only Hero in this story is Elena. The only decent person in this story is Elena.

Elle and Sinclair are despicable narcissistic immoral adulterous shits. Elena is so far above them it's laughable. What the author tried to pull here, having these two get away with all their vile behaviour, justifying it all because of a great "love" completely failed for me.

Elle ever tried to pull all her shit in this family she'd be out on her whorish ass.

Nope no! The author makes it feel like it’s ok to cheat. The guy decided to have a holiday affair and cheats on his partner of four years. He doesn’t believe in marriage but apparently can’t wait to marry Giselle (the partner’s younger sister). Top it all, he makes her pregnant by throwing off her pills and oh his ex wanted to adopt a baby which he refused saying they weren’t happy anymore and she also suffered a miscarriage with him in the past and can’t have a baby anymore! Giselle’s half assed guilt didn’t do shit! What a sweet awesome guy and loving caring younger sister! Should have given him a Nobel prize for the biggest a-hole ever!!

Not gonna mark this as a spoiler because people who want to read this bull should know what they are getting into! Not worth it y’all!!

Honestly after reading elena’s story, i had to come see this one for myself.
The way her sister & sinclair treated her is so fucking unfair, and her whole family acted like she was in the wrong for not accepting their adulterous relationship.

God i felt for elena seriously, every little aspect was determined to tear her down— her body, which was less vuluptuous than giselle was mentionned so many times + the fact that sinclair gave everything elena ever wanted to her sister after knowing her for only six months is vile(wedding, baby)

Anywayssss cheating is trash guys

I didn’t like book 2 at all because of how pathetic the heroine was but I decided to finish the series. What a mistake. I don’t know what the hell happened but it’s like the author decided to throw as many overused tropes she could think of into the book.

BDSM? Check. Crazy ex? Check. Psycho stalker? Check. Check.

There was just so much random stuff going on I got sick of it. Random characters that would appear and all of a sudden they were the heroines bff. But then no word from the best friend in book 1 that was the reason she was in Mexico to begin with? The crazy pedo guy doesn’t make an appearance in book 1 or 2 and then pops in in book 3?

The random BDSM club shit and the hero letting his friend join in was completely out of nowhere.

I also hated that we don’t get any explanation for Sinclair’s claim that he did have sex with Elena when he got back from Mexico. I just can’t get over the heroine being totally understanding about that since he found out about Elle AS SOON AS HE GOT BACK HOME. That’s disgusting. How on earth are you going to still blow a guy you just found out was inside your sister a day ago and now want to vomit?

The book was a mess.

Maybe if I didn’t love Elena so much I would’ve liked this book.

If you like cheaters victimising themselves then read this.

The lack of remorse and of a moral compass on part of the main characters and total lack of empathy for the third person in this relationship (Elena) was so mind-boggling. It's your own freaking sister, who saved you and yet you don't have the decency to own up to your crap? SMH. I'm mad at myself for trying to read this.

Here is a quote from Giselle the cheating sister about the sister she cheated on: "Elena was so alone, and even though she had played a large part in her isolation, it was my fault that it had become so starkly defined. I’d taken the love of her partner and the support of our family and any friends she had made through Sinclair. It disturbed me in a third-person kind of way that the greatest consequences felt by my affair had landed on my own sister."

And ya'll this was near the end of the book. So I was disturbed by Danielle/Sin and Giselle's behavior and lack of growth. It would have been fine to say I'll be there for you (to Elena) if you need me and when you are ready if you can find it in you to move past this, we are here. Danielle/Sin sort of did that but I couldn't believe my eyes, Giselle never did. AFTER Elena saved her from a preadator!!! WTF

Idk if I had a sister LOL I would be trying so hard to fix that relationship. Not once in the Epilogue does Giselle reach out to try to repair the relationship. I found that morally just bankrupt on her part.

The conclusion of the affair between Sinclair and Gisella and all the consequences of it.
description
“We made each other whole, Elle. I was just as broken before you rearranged my life and brought it into focus.”

Gianna made it so easy for me to hate Elena, but also feel her pain.
So, if you think that ain't worthing read the series about her and Dante, think again, because it does.
And we all get to know a bit more about Giselle and Sinclair, Alexander and Cosima.
I kinda feel bad, Cage had a thing for Elena, I think it would give a good story to them together, but of course, Dante and Elena's love is epic.
As Giselle and Sinclair, this two belong together.
I love the time they spend in Paris...
description
description
They had their break, but they have to return and face the consequences...
Giselle is now a strong woman who fights for her man.
They try to do right this time, but of course, it's too late for that.
We see an Elena very emotional, very "bitchy", and, even we can relate to her pain, she's too vengeful, and I kinda lost my empathy for her, but also feel sorry, she's all alone...
Giselle is like a sunshine in everyone's life.
Sinclair... The way he loves her, is so fiercely that I just can't look at them and not to love, even if their love is build in Elena's sadness and betrayal.
description
description
But I do love Elena, and how she defended Giselle, kinda redeem herself for all that she did.
I think it was a good closure for her and to what Christopher did to the two sisters.
She can only heal, when she finds true love, like Gisella did.
And the end...
Ohhh... The end is epic.
Sinclair is amazing...

I skim read this in about half an hour.

Gross. Unbelievably despicable humans.

Attempts at “villainising” Elena were ridiculous. Lots of people are not into BDSM, lots of people with abusive pasts would be afraid of such a scene? Lots of people say shitty stuff when they are hurt.

Also shame on you for being with someone who thinks of you in that way, you’re an idiot for such an astute businessman.

I didn’t like this. It bored me. And I honestly was hoping Giselle and Sinclair would die, they are horrible people. And I really loved Elena’s speeches that she wouldn’t forgive her (who would?!) and when she called her out for what a pathetic unrespectable weak person Giselle is. I wholeheartedly agree.

Here’s the deal, even if I thought the plot was decent I can’t get over the lack of editing, the many, many typos and the continuity problems. I was hoping that the author at least would fix those but sadly that wasn’t the case. There’s a few subplots that are left up in the air, a few characters that go in and out without rhythm or rhyme and oh so many plot inconsistencies that are just so hard to follow. Like when in one chapter multiple people including the cunty ex find out she’s pregnant, followed by the governor and a room full of people also finding out she’s pregnant but then in the next chapter the hero states that he’s sad the pregnancy is a secret and that no one knows. Um wtf? The entire city already knows! That one chapter seemed just misplaced, like the author intended it to be placed a few chapters before but then haphazardly inserted it in the wrong place. Like I said, the continuity of the story throughout was such a mess. It makes me mad that I spent my money on 3 poorly edited books, when the author could’ve easily released one nicely edited book. Sad part is that I’m intrigued with a Cosima story, heck even an Elena one, but I would think twice before giving an author my money when they don’t care enough about their audience to edit their books.

3 Stars!

So, this book is hard for me to rate. I'm not a fan of this trope, though I can handle it if it's done in a non annoying way, such as him breaking it off with his gf right away, or telling her. But nope, he dragged their relationship and the affair on for 2 books which makes him pretty unforgivable in my book. Giselle was just as bad, being that she was her sister. They had almost no remorse for the affair, and Elena was made out to be the bad person, like wtf?? Elena was the one who got screwed, and she had every right to how b*tc*y she was. If anything, I LIKED that Elena never forgave them, especially because they are not GOOD people. They just use their supposed love to excuse what they did. So overall, I'm rooting for Elena, but please be someone better than Cage!

The consequences didn't have any consequence. In short, no, not everyone deserves happy ending. Some people deserve a tight slap across their faces for manipulating, gaslighting and putting their di¢k where it doesn't belong.

Goodness gracious I've never been so mad at fictional characters before. Elena my love, you don't deserve this.

I hope a$$niel's di¢k falls off and bit¢hselle chokes on the fallen di¢k. I really really want to punch them and drag them by their hair.

well, ummmmmmm, so I did end up reading this whole trilogy today after skimming a bit yesterday even though I knew it was about the cheating duo from the Anti-Heroes in Love duet. I don't really know why, but yeah, I can't complain much because I read this even after knowing all that, so I'm going to blame my nosy ass. (please don't yell at me 🥺)

Imagine cheating with your sister's fiancé or cheating on your fiancée and then giving the most bullshit excuse about love to make yourself feel better. I cannot believe that these two will actually stay together forever. These are the kind of couples that end up divorced bc down the road they realize that they never truly loved each other.

I don't really understand cheaters or even the idea of cheating. Can lust really drive a person that far? Do people that cheat never worry about the consequences, because they truly can't be under the false impression that their partner will never find out, right? I have only one thought about cheating and cheaters:

Once the high of lust leaves, you'll be left with nothing because all you had to begin with is a house of cards built on someone else's pain. One blow and it all falls down, leaving you with a pile of debris of what could've been.

Also, the reactions of their siblings to the affair and everything that happened after is precisely the reason I will never like any of them. Cosima. Sebastian. Like, absolutely not. Their mother is the best. She was the only person siding with Elena after everything that happened. She was literally the ONE PERSON that truly sided with her out of all of them. Everyone else was so chill about it and they were like "love" and all. The way they all blame Elena for everything is insane when it's so obvious that Giselle and Daniel are wrong here. The absolute audacity.

Honestly, I can't even feel the least bit of sympathy for these two and if they separated, I would have rejoiced. Daniel was literally disgusting for even admitting to Giselle that he was somewhat happy about Elena losing their baby. Imagine saying that about the woman who had an ectopic pregnancy. Oh, and cherry on top, Giselle ends up pregnant and he's all giddy.

The only reason I gave this 2-stars instead of a 1 is for Elena. When she told Giselle that her hatred is something that she would have to live with, I was like "yes queen, PREACH" (that was an instant star moment). Anyways, she's wayyyyy too good for this pig. Giselle, you took her problem, because she'll get a REAL MAN who actually respects her. How do you feel about that, huh? 🤡

I 100% support Elena. PERIOD.

If a victim-blaming main couple that doesn't take responsibility and blames love is your vibe, you'll love this book. I won't judge. I, however, only read this for Elena and I understand her so much more now. I'm not going to write a review for the first two books because I'll end up saying the same stuff there. Also, I guess I'll read Cosima's duet sometime too while I'm at it.

i'm dead inside. 🐍

***FIVE STARS!***
This story was the best of the series. I loved it completely. Sinclair became "All That" AND a bag of potato chips. Super hot and such a strong masculine dude. I loved the way he cherished Elle by the ending and I adored how he dealt with Elle's family The sex was steaming hot and even had a smidgen of BDSM in it too. I cannot recommend this one enough!

GO READ WHEN HEROES FALL DIRECTLY

I skimmed through this, only focusing on the parts where Elena was concerned. But man oh man, do both the main characters piss me off.

And more than that, WHY TF IS COSIMA SUPPORTING GISELLE??? I honestly don't get her family, excluding their MOTHER. She was the only one who truly had Elena's back.

Also, I despise Sinclair and Giselle with a passion. I'm so glad I read Elena's story directly instead of reading their bs. And I'm so so so glad Elena found someone who's worthy of standing by her side and giving her the absolute world because she deserves nothing less.

I really wanted to like this series, that’s why I finished it. I get what they are trying to convey, that they did it for love and everything. But as someone who got cheated on in the past, I just could not feel for them, well maybe a little bit. I feel for Elena so much. I cannot wait to read her story.

Cannot be read as a standalone.

An excellent conclusion for this sinful series.

Giselle and Sinclair are absolutely perfect. The entire book is full of steam, and I couldn't get enough.

I loved every minute! I hope there will be spin-offs about the other siblings in this series.

Bravo Giana Darling!

The typos in this book compared to the rest of the series is concerning. Well done on spending an entire series convincing the hero his BDSM preferences are not shameful and abusive as others have constantly told him ... Only to have him throw out the heroine's birth control to get her pregnant without consent.

Before this book, I was all in for the series. After this one, I'm meh.

I may read Cosima. We'll see.

'The Consequence' by Giana Darling is book Three in "The Evolution of Sin Trilogy". This book continues the story of Giselle 'Elle' and Sinclair 'Sin'. I strongly feel that you have to read the other two books: "The Affair" and "The Secret" to full enjoy this book as Sin and Elle story plays out in both books and this book ends with their Happy Ending'.
I have been in love with this series so I have been doing a happy dance after getting this book. Yes, I have been stalking the release of this book and counting down the days! For me, this book did not disappoint on their story line.
Elle and Sin are dealing with Elena and her finding out what has been going on with them. In addition, it appears that an old stalker is back for Elle. Sin and Elle were fighting for their love in this book and standing together. I liked seeing them as forces working together and having each other back. I still hope for more stories for the secondary characters as I love them so much too. They each had issue that I would like to read more about. So fingers crossed for more books by Ms. Darling!
I would highly recommend this whole series by Ms. Darling.

Oh this is a hard one to review. It's going to be long, I highlighted A LOT, and unfortunately not a lot were for positive reasons.

This is a three part story, I won't say trilogy because even though it was originally three separate books, the endings of each weren't really endings. I feel this was originally one long story, too long to be one book, so they split it into three.

The first being the affair: quick summary, Elle leaves Paris to vacation in Mexico for a week before moving to New York and back with her family, who years prior fled the poverty and violence of their Naples home. While on the flight to Mexico she meets a man, Sinclair, he's beautiful and charming yada yada yada, they end up having a "holiday affair"-because he's in a relationship- fall in love of corse and after their last rendezvous she ghosts out while he's asleep.

My review: this book hooked me. I am all about some well plotted and written "taboo" romance. I mean who doesn't love the forbidden? This book is literally JUST their time in Mexico. The connection is super quick and far too steamy to question the progression. The ending is super abrupt though. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a cliffhanger, I'm not sure I can explain why, but it just wasn't the same feel of a cliffhanger for me.

The next book is The Secret: this book starts with Elle on the trip to her new home (NY) from Mexico where we learn that she left Sinclair in his sleep after admitting love and such. THIS is where things get interesting. Where Giselle(Elle) and Daniel(Sinclair) meet and realize that Sinclair's "partner" is actually Elle's uppity sister, Elena, who is a complete cunt I might add. Daniel and Giselle are regularly forced together, and trying but failing to force their feelings for each other to end. They agree on a friendship after a couple of sexual confrontations, sparked by jealousy and alcohol mostly. It ends similar to the affair, but more in the middle of a chapter. Still kept me hooked though.

My review: This book was full of angst and sexual tension.
Also- this is where consistent grammatical errors started popping up. Towards the end I started to get the feeling that the ending was rushed and subsequently not properly edited, or that who ever did edit needs to find a different job. I can usually over look errors here and there but these were too simple and frequent, which unfortunately took a serious toll on the next book.

Third and final installment: The Consequence
Up until now this story has only been told in Elle's pov, but now we start to get Sinclair's pov as well. It starts where The secret left off: in the hotel room after Daniel has broken it off with Elena, and after a week of swooning, reunited with Elle. He goes to the hotel door thinking it's room service to find Elena hell bent on fixing them, while Elle is still naked in the bedroom. The presence of an affair is discovered and then later the parties involved in the actual relationship are admitted. Essentially this is where Sinclair and Elle grow together and fight for each others love, against well, everyone.

My review: up until this book there was very little I didn't like, however the issues of the secret became more frequent and well, worse. You know that example of the importance of correct grammar: helping your Uncle, Jack, off a horse. Or helping your uncle Jack off a horse.? Commas people, use them, and use them correctly. There were sentences and paragraphs I had to reread multiple times and edit in my head, because they either lacked commas and holy run-on sentences that ended up not making sense, or omg too many commas that ended up confusing as hell. I should add here I am obviously not an expert in grammar, so when I notice issues, they're pretty bad. But also when I read a published book, when I pay for a book, I expect and hope it be edited well and with minimal errors to affect my experience.
It was also no longer JUST grammar errors but issues with the story as well though. Elena is a straight up bitch. The shit she spews to anyone frankly, made her an irredeemable character for me: but of corse like too many authors it seems, they still try to bring out the good in the shitty. I seriously feel she should've been left alone and hated until the end. Also the added drama for I don't even know what reason, and putting significance to insignificant characters with out any real purpose.
In the first book, first chapter really, Elle is sent to Mexico in place of her actress friend Brenna, who afterward is pretty much nonexistent except a sentence here and there about her not returning emails-that's literally it. But she's brought back in the last chapter for what ever reason: I am assuming the author unintentionally forgot about her through book one and two and was reminded in the very very end. And the ever elusive Christopher, he's vaguely mentioned in book one about being the reason for Elle leaving Naples and again leaving Paris when he "finds her". You get a little more to the back story here and there as the story progresses but I didn't feel he or the significance and later drama placed on him was warranted. The abuse/story could've been left as was without his return and poor attempt at a plot twist. I'm not really even sure what that was. I saw it coming and mostly skipped through it, as I truly felt it made the story less.
Another issue was the language/translation inconsistencies. I am American, and only know English so when a book has snippets of a different language I rely on that little translate button. Unfortunately many languages don't translate well or the term used is some type of slang and doesn't translate at all. So it's super nice when the phrase is said and THEN translated right after which did happen ohh about 40% of the time, my issue is why not the other 60%? If you're going to add phrases of a different language and immediately translate PLEASE be consistent. Or at least make them phrases that do translate for the rest of us google translate dummies.

Giana Darling ended this series in such a perfect manner. From start to finish, I experienced a myriad of conflicting and confounding emotions—however, the intense passion, inevitable drama and tremendous sorrows, it all manifested into this sinfully compelling and enthralling narrative. Brutally gritty and emotionally raw, Giana Darling didn’t hold anything back in delivering this heartrending conclusion to The Evolution of Sin series.

Whatever the inception of our relationship, we had evolved and grown into something bigger than morality. We had cheated and lied and caused inexorable heartbreak in each other and those closest to us. We were sinners, undoubtedly, of the highest order. There was no way to deny or forget those truths. They just didn’t matter anymore. Maybe it was about damn time the villain had a happily ever after.

Daniel Sinclair is everything—a flawless combination of aloof and sweet, dominant and romantic, daunting yet captivating. He is an addiction difficult to turn away from, a person you cannot escape and stop yourself from falling deeper in love with, especially as we finally get insight into his enigmatic, brilliant mind! Without doubt, Sinclair is enthralling, a multi-faceted and beyond complex hero with hidden delicious desires and sincere heart of undeniable passion.

And since the moment I met Giselle Moore, my heart had stopped being mine to reason with.

Oh, I love Giselle. Sweet and caring, yet sometimes apprehensive, she’s finally learned to find strength within herself and chase after happiness. And that love, in all its raw formations, isn’t easy. It is brutally honest, heartrending and oftentimes difficult, yet undeniably beautiful and generous. Real love isn’t about settling with convenience; it requires an intense fierceness of immense devotion and earnest affection and vicious yearning that is wretched but real.

Giselle and Sinclair's relationship is shaped by unfortunate circumstances and reality's harshness, but they have growth and morphed into wonderfully admirable characters who don't excuse or glorify their behaviour.

I knew from the moment I said goodbye to you on the plane that even if I never saw you again, my life was no longer enough. I needed family, a needed love and a woman who was wholly mine.

If you're searching for something that will wrench your heart, shattering it into minuscule pieces; that will send your mind into a conundrum of conflicting thoughts; that will throw your emotions into turmoil, I cannot recommend this series more than enough. Neither lighthearted nor uncomplicated, The Evolution of Sin series demonstrates the difficulties of falling in love with someone forbidden and simultaneously explores the complex yet trusting nature of BDSM.
