When three year old Ana refuses to stay in her own bed, her family sought to learn why. Nearly every night she crawls in the bed with her big sister and covers her head. To a child, anything can become a scary object at night if the lighting is cast in the right angle. But what if the monsters aren't merely figments of a child's overactive imagination? What if they are real? The lovely fir tree outside young Ana's window is holding a terrible secret. It has a terrifying history which young Ana is seeing come to life. The past is reaching out to her. Trying to claim her for revenge.
A. White is a former librarian and a long time member of Romantic Time and Publisher's Weekly who has been writing for over fifteen years. She took classes in creative writing in college, specializing in ancient myths and legends. and at a local community center while living in Chicago. In college she won the national contest to verbally list every country in the world, it's capital and ingenious language. Her works are mainly horror, fantasy, extreme, and sci-fi as well as, as some may says, "the truly strange predicament and puzzling." Books that I've written are "Clash with the Immortals, and eleven others which are part of the "Unholy Pursuit saga," which should be finished this year. She has been working on the Chronicles since 2007.(Actually since 2001, 2007 was when notes started to be converted to digital form.) She wished to complete them all before introducing them to public so the readers wouldn't have to for the continuation to be written. The ideas of the book came from classic literature such as whose work greatly influence the world world such as Homer, Sophocles, Herodotus, Euripides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle and many more. The "Book of Enoch" influenced the usage of Azazael as a main character and love interest. I created the primary main character from the Chronicle of Saints. I wanted to show them as real flesh and blood with thoughts, desires and yearning as any human. Not as they are so often depicted. So I created one of my own to show her as a real human that everyone can relate to. Although, most of my work is written in the classic mode I read much more than classics. I read anything that interesting.
2467, Brunswick, GA. (Tidwell County). 1-day Jacob BuFaye looked in horror as his daughter Ana BuFaye (3) had ran a pitchfork into her foot. It must have been laying around while he, Jr. BuFaye (son/brother) & the other workers were tending to the farm chores. Off to the hospital they went.
ER Dr. Lehrman, nurses/staff, police & a social worker all greeted them. Fantasia “Fannie” BuFaye (wife/mom, literature teacher, nee Preston) got full instructions how to tend to the injury. Sheriff Greg Lent was dealing with Clint Tidwell who wanted the Preston Farm Eminent Domain because of several yrs. of unpaid property taxes. There was quite a historical side to this property. 2469, Ana Bufaye (5) seems to be scared of a lot of things. Helena Bufaye (13) her sister who sleeps in the same room makes nighttime feel a little safer. Outside their window is an evil looking man who stares up at Helena. 2471, Who is & what happed to Cooter? Helena Bufaye (15) had won the $500 pies, cakes & cobblers contest. Mr. Lamont Burke (Barbecue Pitt owner) also won $500 for his BBQ entry. Sheriff Greg Lent & Deputy Sheriff Kate Langston were on the scene as PPL were being rushed to the hospital because of food poisoning salmonosas food poisoning. Ana (7), & Jack BuFaye (son/brother) were still alive. Chymes (daughter) did not make it.
Who would survive & who will perish?

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written paranormal book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a large set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great paranormal movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

to the central scene of a novel about the atrocities of slavery in America and how they will live on as long as racist people keep them alive to haunt future generations. Cooter is the evil spirit of an old plantation overseer who died evil and is still carrying his black hearted hatred nearly seven hundred years later and want to hurt a young girl named Ana for no reason other than she is African-American. Yes, Cooter and several others are seriously mentally deranged and evil.
Southern gothic at it's best. Thanks for writing a story of a strong African-American family. It shows a side of African-American life rarely read about having nothing to do with the traditional negativity so popular. There are no drugs, neglected children, ghetto, and so forth that's so common when writing about an African-American character. The BuFayes are a normal family experiencing extraordinary evil, supernatural occurrences.
Great southern gothic! Reveants, immortals, ancient gods, ghosts, evil elves. The house was once an old plantation. The evils of the past are still there. Great novel about the supernatural. I loved the way this family stuck together.
Its a great Southern gothic set nearly 700 years later ; a diabolical spirit of a murderous overseer of a large plantation returns to the place of unspeakable cruelty to terrorize the descendants of those whose lives he debased and made miserable, but what he doesn't know is that powerfully gifted child has been born into that family he once terrorized who can and will destroy him. As the child grows so does her strength. The story contains violent flashbacks of slavery and it's brutality.
It doesn't seems creepy at first but the deeper you goes the more distrubing the story gets. It's a story evil spirits haunting a family, especially a little girl named Ana. The evil spirits as living people operated a plantation and offered their slaves in exchange for wealth and power .
It's a story of a child living in a haunted antebellum Southern house. The family is facing one set of problems after another. I loved the sass and spike in the little girl named Ana. I think the black family inherited the spooky house from a White ancestor. I would burn it down.
