I definitely appreciated the bits about how important it is to create your own identity and let yourself flourish and not let others define you as well as being against cyber-bullying. There were some grammar issues that I had, like the term net-working is already an adopted term now so it should be networking, but I'm kind of a grammar snob at times. To each their own, but, personally, I felt that tech isn't the only issue with children developing themselves in this world and that I felt there were a lot of extremities in the book. For instance, I wouldn't want to draw up a tech contract with my family. That is a personal situation, I understand. I'm glad that this book can help others, if this is their prerogative, but it just isn't mine.

I loved this book! If you are a parent and struggling with issues such as protecting your child from cyber bullies, amount of time your kids spend on their screens then Power down & Parent Up is all you need. This book will give you all the information you need to make positive changes in your family’s life as it offers great advice/effective strategies on how to tackle these issues to raise tech healthy children. This book is a must-read not only for parents, but also for anyone who uses technology. Holli wonderfully talks about positive and negative effects of technology on children & adults before giving practical suggestions on how parents & guardians can take control in these situations.
I think this book provides a thoroughly developed, well-researched analysis of cyber bullying & explains what it is, how it is carried out, who is affected, and what can and should be done to prevent and control its occurrence in your child’s life. Holli suggests some great ideas, resources, and concepts to help parents take control of their children’s health and gives parents a plan for moving on with hope and knowing that IT’S NEVER TOO LATE…..

A big thank you to Holli & her publishers for sending us a review copy of Power down & Parent up. This book was highly educational, helpful & practical. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
