One handywoman. One single dad. One set of twins. And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled… I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me. Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town. Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me. On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave. In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs. I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks. And I most definitely should not be kissing my client. Oops… MISS FIX-IT is a brand-new, standalone romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, who brought you BEING BROOKE and CATCHING CARLY.
Emma Hart is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels and has been translated into several different languages. She first put fingers to keys at the age of eighteen after her husband told her she read too much and should write her own. Four years later, she's still figuring out what he meant when he said she 'read too much.'
She prides herself on writing smart smut that's filled with dry wit, snappy, sarcastic comebacks, but lots of heart... And sex. Sometimes, she kills people. (Disclaimer: In books. But if you bug her, she'll use your name for the victims.)
But the book was just a meh for me...I loved the twins though which kept me going...
So basically this book was all about...
Kali was:"I build and fix things, I don't mess with my clients, no matter how hot they are, and I don't want kids. She was pretty immature too.
Brantley was: "I'm a single dad with twins, taking care of them, he was alone in the new town, and worked a lot." We don't have his pov so it's hard to connect with him.
The best part of the book were the twins, who were so adorable and cute and funny and got on fights all day long...
Brantley and Kali were ok, I guess. I couldn't connect with Brantley and I was missing his thoughts. It was kind of like they were doing their "jobs" and sometimes they just happen to meet and flirt a little bit or trying to separate the twins' fight.
Kali was nice heroine but NOT for this book! If that makes any sense...? She was selfish and didn't want the responsibility of 2 kids even though she had a great time with them during her work. And Brantley were just missing from this book. I could have really used his pov to have a clear picture of him.
And the worst thing was that this thing between them "I want you but too many responsibilities on the way, I'm not ready kind of thing" kept going until the end of the book!
WHAT?!?!?!
We get only the epilogue to see them as a happy family!
AGAIN WHAT?!?!?!
I loved the epilogue and I wanted more of that! Why didn't I get it? I liked how close they became and how their little family was doing. That's what I wanted, in the first half of the book to know each other and start getting there and then in the second half I wanted everyday dramas with the twins fighting and laughing and driving them crazy! That would have been a great book for me! :(((
I love a book that takes the usual social norms and flips the around. So when a book about a female builder pops up on my feed I, of course, want to give it a try. And not only that, this book features two adorable twins and a hot single dad so it had me even more excited.
And while I loved all of that something with this story just seemed a little unfinished. It wasn't a super short book yet by the end I just didn't feel like I had the complete picture of these characters. I liked then individually but together I honestly just didn't see the connection.
Overall though it kept me interested while I was reading and had many things i enjoyed. Mainly being the twins and Kali's stepmom.
I could not put this book down! The perfect mix of funny, cute, and sweet, Miss Fix-It is a new Top Fave from Emma Hart! I adored everything about it. From the super cute kids, to the sad situation behind Brantley’s move, to our super sexy and saucy (pun intended) heroine, Kali!
Here’s the breakdown: Brantley Cooper relocates his small family to a small town after losing his fiance’. He wants to start fresh in a new town. Kali is the resident builder in town and agrees to help him fix up his recently purchased home. He’s surprised when the handyman he thought he hired turns out to be a sexy woman. Working in close quarters quickly sparks more than just professional interest.
Here’s what I loved: The story is original and entertaining. I love the idea of the Kali running a business that’s typically male dominated. I particularly enjoy the fact that her clients are shocked beyond belief when a beautiful female builder shows up at their house. The story is real and honest. Very refreshing!
I love the single dad trope. Brantley is perfection! He’s a well-developed character who’s perfect, but not too perfect. The characters are phenomenal. I loved the dynamics between Kali and her family and friend. I particularly love Ellie and Eli and how they terrorize their father. Being a parent of a young child, I could totally relate! And the wonderful witty dialogue that features prominently in this author’s book is there. I laughed out loud through much of the book. It was amazing.
So, I loved it. I highly recommend it to fans of cute kids in books, single dad trope, kick ass heroines with heart. Another top notch read from Emma Hart!
Sarcastic heroine, gotta love a woman with a sharp tongue *lol*
Likable hero, adorable kids (though a bit too fictional-sweet), loved him as a dad – he did a great job!
I would have clicked 4 stars, but the lack of visible grief for his deceased wife bothered me. For those, who like to be very sure, that the heroine won’t be the 2nd best, it was probably the right approach. Dead spouse is not my trigger and I prefer them to mourn and to remember. Everyone has his own way of coping with a loss, so I don’t judge; I just wanted to have more of memories of his ex/mother of the twins, especially for the kids.
The 1st time they had sex he wanted to use condom and she told him she trusted him. Before I start to lecture about the rules of safe sex and importance of protection and actual testing of both partners, I just roll my eyes and… roll them again.
Damn Emma Hart! Again my day was filled with awesome goodness in this new standalone, Miss Fix It! Hot single dad, two adorable kids and a handy woman, my day was just filled with all the good feels. Man, as always, Emma Hart managed to deliver yet again a story with a balance heat, heart and humor. This made my day!
I have been Emma's fan for what seems like forever. I love her writing style because I can easily get into it. In fact, she's my go to author in moments I needed a story that brightens up my day because I am assured of a feels good journey from start to finish. Miss Fix It was no different. With a cover and promising blurb coupled with a fact that a single dad was in the equation, boy, I was all heart eyes and grabby hands. I don't just want to read. I want to savor the book and get obsessed with a single dad. Let's face it, nothing gets sexier than having a hero with adorable kids. And, Emma Hart did not disappoint. She gave justice to my addiction with single dads. Now, the problem is, can I give justice to the book the way it deserves with my review?
Hmmm... let me continue by saying, I enjoyed reading Miss Fix It and finished it in 3 hours.Yes! And that was 3 hours of fun and excitement, I was not just entertained, I fell in love. The connection I had with the story was immediate. I was grabbed into the goodness of realness and hilarity the moment I read the first page. The characters were portrayed as if they were real. Kali and Brant were easy to connect with. I love their dynamics and their growth and their straightforward development. I don't need drama and Emma gave me that. The twins too were delivered perfectly, I couldn't help but gush about not just their adorable ways but how real their characters were. Their antics had me laughing like crazy I had tears in my eyes. I am dead! Totally dead, and here I thought I only love single dads. Scratch that, the twins did it for me too.
Hammered. Nailed. Screwed. That's how I was, reading this book. I could not put it down until I reached the end. It's not just because I have an obsession with the characters, more like I love Emma Hart's writing. It was really good that all I did was read, feel and experience the ride without any struggle. The handywoman, dad with twins and all the in betweens were amazingly written,I was captivated. I fell head over heels in love too because more than the uniqueness of it, I can always feel the heart of the story. I may have laughed out loud but I was moved beyond words.
I'd come into this house to fix bedrooms. What I'd done was fix a family. And, I'd never been so damn happy.
Goodreads makes it hard for me to read books I know I'm gonna love.
The added pressure of writing a review . . . wait no. Writing a review that not only is fun to read but makes me come across as a witty, must-get-to-know reviewer, all the while the entire drivel being considered completely acceptable as a legitimate review to "help" fellow readers is just waaay waaayy too overwhelming.
Why yes, by help I certainly do mean, making them get rid of all their money before it even reaches their hands like moi and to feel the utter misery of being broke and having book stores make puppy eyes at them and guilting them for letting the poor unfortunates books stay on cold dusty shelves and not being taken to warm cozy homes filled with luuurve.
*snorts* Yeah, I'm evil like that.
Right, back to the point.
Goodreads, you bitch! Do you realize how long you kept me away from this wonderful piece of art?!
Yea, yea. I'm definitely over-selling but this is was so much fun I can't help give it 5 "Fuck-it" stars. Excuse me, I meant "Fix-it".
Seriously though, I loved reading this. I have said this before but books with kids might as well be an Umaiya-magnet cause the pull is irresistible. That being said, I can count on one hand books that didn't lure me in only to lead into great disappointment what with the kids only serving as an obstacle between the MCs or to show the H/h's sensitive/caring side, or some other crap; which essentially means the kids are in name only. Literally. I is not amused.
Thankfully that was not the case here. Do you feel that? That's the feeling of expectations and reality meeting on the same page. Bam! I needs to get more Emma Hart.
Everything just spoke to me.
And I loved Kali. I read another review saying she came off immature and to each his own but that's not how I felt. Roughly about the same age, I felt exactly like her. Even down to the not wanting kids thing. I really liked her. More to the point, I understood her, she was real and immature or not but that's all that matters. Besides a little immaturity gives life colour. ;)
*No. I am not handing out excuses for my behaviour. :P*
Brant and the kids were freaking adorable, I'm not gonna talk about them cause I want you to read it instead. So do that. Now.
I am tired of the candy coated reviews! I tried to keep going, but I just couldn't handle the horrible editing anymore. I honestly wonder if the proof readers and editor fell asleep at the wheel. Missing words, extra words, repeated paragraphs, repeated scenes! A few examples; Loc 895- H is describing Mr. Pickles, again. The meeting was described at an earlier place where he was dressed completely different. Loc 518- wet shoes or wet boots? Because h says she has both, at the same time. Loc 555- 'after my foot-in-mouth moment yesterday...' It was actually 3 days later, Saturday to Tuesday. Loc 773- 'he Harry Pottered me. ' Does every single character have to be obsessed with HP?! Those are just a few highlights before I gave up. I couldn't do it. Couldn't deal with another grown woman talking like a hormonal teenager. Couldn't believe that she was actually a builder with the sub par knowledge. Couldn't read another character that sounded exactly the same as Noelle Bond. Authors have to hear our honest reviews, not candy coated fluff written to save their feelings.
Meh. I think I read a different book than everyone else did. Am I the only one who wasn't impressed with this story?
I had such high hopes for this book. A story that turns around gender norms and expectations? Sign me up. And I was into the book until about the halfway mark. I was hoping I would get to know Brantley and that I would see their relationship develop past some mildly alluded to physical chemistry. I got none of that. We don't get much sense of who Brantley is as a person. We don't even know what his job is (though he does it) or where he does it (though he goes somewhere) or anything about his family (he does have parents) or how a move to a different state came about (we get a vague why). At about the halfway point I realized that this book was just 60% kids fighting, talking, fighting, being cute, fighting, 30% heroine lamenting about not wanting kids and 10% relationship development. I held out and, ever the optimist, finished it, but the story never even out.
As the book is told strictly from Kali's POV, we get a lot of her personal relationships and hardly any of that page time is devoted to really getting to know Brantley. It is just a little bit of convo then going on about how they can't do anything about their mutual attraction because it is against company policy. Let's not forget that it is essentially Kali's company so...it isn't like she is going to get fired for fraternization.
What did they even see each other?
There was also no real conflict in this book. I kept waiting for it so I could hopefully see more of Brantley's emotional investment in their "relationship", but it never came. Brantley's emotions are assumed by Kali based on his expressions and the emotions mysteriously passing through his eyes. She is obviously a pretty good mind reader. Their whole relationship was decided by Kali. When she was ready for it, there was no discussion with Brant. She thought it so it was a done deal.
No real steam, I didn't feel their chemistry, the tension felt one-sided, their relationship development was nearly nonexistent and I didn't really believe their emotional investment in each other. The saving grace was the adorable twins who are funny as heck and the epilogue. But it barely rescued it to 2 stars. Well, that and it was a funny story.
Anyway, in the words of my 8 year old, this story was meh. I may read the next one about a female mechanic because...ever the optimist, we'll see.
Incredibly HILARIOUS! Sexy! Out of this world ENTERTAINING! I knew going into this, that I was going to absolutely ADORE the hell out of this book! Emma Hart brightens my day to the fullest with each and every new release she shares with the world. MISS FIX-IT was more than an amazing rom-com, it was an absolute INSPIRATION to my heart and soul! Never have I ever had a heroine speak to me on every single level imaginable. Kali, Brantley, Ellie, and Eli took my heart and just ran with it, and I was ever so grateful for them to keep it forever!
Not only did I laugh my ass off during this entire read, but my heart was bursting with love, hope, and affection for every single character in this book. The twins tantrums and outbursts ALONE, would have earned MISS FIX-IT a 5 STAR REVIEW from me! Emma Hart is well known for giving us heroines that are smart, quick-witted, and outspoken. And trust me Kali is all that and more, but she brings something else to the table. She brings a certain empowering aura throughout pages, battling sexism and stereotypical douche-bags. I adored her and she might just be my favorite Emma Hart character to date!
Emma is also known for giving us heroes that melt our hearts and on more than a few occasions…our panties! But just like our heroine, Brantley Cooper brought MORE to the table in MISS FIX-IT! You notice that we don’t have a smokin’ HOT guy on the cover, right? That’s OK! Because our hero makes up for it all throughout this book! He is an all around GOOD GUY! Yes, he is gorgeous! Yes, he is successful and kind and I could go on and on and on…but the truth is, he just has a GOOD HEART! He’s our single dad struggling to make a life for his adorable children and I couldn’t have been more fond of this man! He makes me want to write poems, and sing sonnets, and do ALL THE ROMANTIC THINGS!
Last but not least, we have our adorable and feisty twins, Eleanor and Elijah. You guys! Emma Hart does ‘kid’s speak’ like a friggin’ PRO! She brings these children to life with each turn of the page…I can’t even begin to tell you what an absolutely delight their dialogue was. I’m melting just thinking about their shenanigans. They are just AWESOME kids! And the way they warmed up to Kali was just so freaking CUTE!
The whole family dynamic is what made this book for me! It wasn’t just Brantley and the twins, it was Jayda, the best friend, and Kali’s step-mom and her dad…everyone was just INCREDIBLE in this book and scene-stealers, for sure!
Trust me, I could go on and on about this book because it was just one of those reads that brings a huge smile to your face, but I’ll let Emma’s reputation speak for itself. I NEVER met an Emma Hart romance I didn’t fall in love with and MISS FIX-IT has to be close to the top of that list! I talk a lot about the family dynamic and how wonderful the characters are, but make no mistake, the sexy times are HOT as HELL! There is intense and playful chemistry. There is enough dirty talk and flirtatious sarcasm to go around! You will not want for anything with this read, I guarantee it! So stop what you’re doing and go pick this book up STAT! It will make your day brighter, your cheeks redder, and your heart fuller. Happy Reading!
ME GUSTÓ MUCHO.
Writing: so many repeating words. Many repeating scenes. Just many too many... And no drama. No twist.
Characters: bland. I do not understand what or how they connect, attracted to each other. No chemistry that makes sense. At the end I just giving up on their ending. And the kids... they are annoying.
Release Date: October 31, 2017 Genre: Standalone Romantic Comedy
Emma Hart has quickly become a favorite author of mine. Her stories, all widely unique in their own right, are perfectly balanced with humor and heart. It's no wonder why readers fall head over heels for her books. They stand apart, can make any type of reader smile from ear to ear, and touch the heart of anyone who dives in. In this one, readers will meet Miss Fix It, a woman who think she knows what she wants out of life but later finds out that her ideal was all wrong, and a single father who loves deeply and purely.
Being a huge sucker for stories featuring single parents -in this case, we have a single father of twins- I knew I was going to instantly fall in love. However, I didn't realize just how deep I would fall or how much I would become invested in these characters story. I loved the interactions between the Kali (she's Miss Fix It- builder extraordinaire) and Brantley. They just fit together like two puzzle pieces, and were a perfect match. But what stuck me the most was the developing relationship that Kali had with his kids especially considering how she never wanted them for herself. It touches your heart to see the changes take place within her and watching her grow into a mature woman.
Now, just because the story is touching and deeply heartfelt doesn't mean that the humor is lost in it. There were many moments where I found myself laughing out loud and many moments that had me almost rolling around on the floor because I couldn't stop the giggling. Emma Hart always adds the best humor in her novels and it's present in this one as well.
With that, Miss Fix it is an endearing, funny, and touching story about two people who unexpectedly come together. Love may not have been in the cards for these two, but as fate would have it, they can't stop it from happening. If you're a fan of Emma Hart, this is the next book you should be reading. Also, if you like single dads, women who take on a "man's world", and books with enough humor and heart to keep you satisfied, then this is the book for you.
I gotta say, the marketing for this is really bad. It practically screams "sex romp" but it really, truly isn't. It works pretty well as a single-viewpoint romance with Kali because she's engaging and I loved how she was prepared to take on challenges and not gripe about it overly much. The surrounding friction to her being, gasp, a girl! doing handy work felt a little overwrought, but what do I know about how that would really play out in a small town? But Kali wasn't bitter or frustrated or anything, she just got on with the work she has to do.
Brantley was just fine as the single dad struggling to provide a fresh start to his young twins and doing the best he can. His need was a bit on the extreme side (those twins were a handful) but not unreasonable, really. So you could see him accidentally leaning on the handywoman once or twice. And since he didn't push it or take her for granted (or come on like a sex-starved wolf), I was down with him and Kali getting together.
The biggest weakness of the book is that Kali's sole objection to getting together with Brantley was that "it's against company policy". But she's the owner (in partnership with her dad) so I kept wondering what the big deal was. It functions as a giant negative motivation* with the added detriment that it's kind of silly. I was glad that she didn't use his kids as a reason to shut him down because by the time it became a factor, you could already see how attached she was.
Anyway, this is pretty straightforward as a romance and I enjoyed spending some time with the characters. It managed 3½ stars but it wasn't quite enough for me to round up. It's good, but not great. Oh, additional kudos for a great stepmother dynamic both with Kali and with where Kali ends up. Stepmoms often get the shaft so it was great seeing Kali turn to her mom for love, support, and help on tough questions.
A note about Steamy: There are one or two explicit sex scenes putting this on the low end of the middle of my steam tolerance. I frankly skimmed through that bit as by the time they happen, I was already happy with the emotional intimacy of the couple.
* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back (or, if that link doesn't work, here's a cache of the original) and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.
Miss Fix It is a fun, flirty single dad romance that leaves you feeling all fluttery inside. It's sweet, sexy and full of feeling. I was swept away by the refreshing twist Emma added into this book. Struggling, single dad meets sassy female builder. It was a genius role reversal that worked seamlessly.
Brantley Cooper is one swoony man! He sent my pulse racing multiple times. As this is an Emma Hart book, we got another strong, sassy female that was witty and fun. While Kali wasn't my favourite female character, Emma has written, it did take me quite a while to fully connect with her but I thought she was a perfect fit for this story.
If you're looking for a sweet and sexy read that is filled with humour, fire and wit, then Miss Fix it is the book for you!!
The premise was awesome, but the execution was terrible! From the beginning the writing was just blah...very sophmore-ish. I thought Kali was annoying and whiney, the kids were brats and Brantley was just plain boring. I didn't feel chemistry between Kali and Brantley. The dialogue between the two of them made me start snoozing that I ended up skimming through those parts along with other parts of the book.
I know a lot of other people loved this book from their reviews, but I just couldn't get behind the writing or the characters at all. Maybe its because I've read some really great books lately that this one didn't even compare to those books.
Miss Fix-It by Emma Hart is such a good read. From the first few pages I knew this was going to be a great read.
I had such a good time reading Miss Fix-It. The storyline was engaging, the writing well done and my interest was captured from the first page. I loved all the characters, Kali, Brantley and the twins, they made me laugh and they made me swoon. Kali was such a great character, I loved her sass, her snark and her big heart, I truly fell in love with her. Watching her fall in love with Brantley, Eli and Ellie warmed my heart and I was so happy she found her soul mate.
If you're looking for a heartwarming, sweet, fun and entertaining read with cute little ones then you will love Miss Fix-It.
Congrats Emma Hart, once again you've given your readers a wonderful, engaging read with characters that entertained us from start to end.

Screw it, no need to sugarcoat on how amazing Emma Hart’s newest release, Miss Fix It is. This book was off the charts incredibly funny, sexy and a total riot of pure entertainment bliss. Seriously, I won’t bore you with a long review because this book BEGS to be read. It had every element that you would want and so much more. So if you are looking for a book that hammers the point of love, sass, playful banter and beauty then this book is for you.
Well.....hmmmm I have no idea what to say. There were parts I enjoyed, parts I found a little ridiculous and parts I found a little boring
So the single dad H relocates to town for a fresh start and hires the handywoman h to redo his kids bedroom. The romance develops slowly between tem interspersed with the many antics of his twins before we get to the HEA To me way too much time was spent on the build up, we know they laughed together, we know they were attracted to each other, we know why the h was fighting it and then BAM.....they're confessing their love. The transition wasn't handled smoothly at all What was the H's job?!!! I don't know if I missed it but I actually ended this book and still had no idea I hate the dead ex trope but I still expected idk something more from the H in terms of the death of his children's mother??? I'm confusing myself, the book was ok but it just left me feeling unsettled
No cheating No OW/OM drama Both appeared to be celibate a while Non manwhore H Dead ex wife but it wasn't a big deal No condom(grrrrr and at the suggestion of the h too, I mean c'mon girl birth control isn't ALL condoms are used for you know)
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.
Not gonna lie... It took me a minute to get into this one which is usually not the case with Emma Hart books because she is my jam. I just didn't connect with Kali like I wanted to. Yes, I loved that she was strong, confident, and sarcastic, but she seemed so emotionally standoffish (which was perhaps on purpose) that I just couldn't vibe with her. I do enjoy that she is taking charge as a business owner in a male dominated field and I really like that this seems to be the first in a series of standalone with that theme. I started to like her more when she started interacting with Brantley and the twins more (and I LOVED Brantley and the twins - they were the real stars of the show) and I also really liked her step-mother. Brantley was just yummy and the twins were delightful; I particularly enjoyed how Emma wrote the little ones and depicted their unique speech patterns. Once I did get into the book, I couldn't put it down and the sexual tension between Kali and Brantley was absolutely delectable. Probably helped that single dads are like sex on a stick for me and Brantley is the cream of the crop. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
Cute story! I wanted to give it 3.5 stars, but sadly this book needed better editing. I counted 15 mistakes which took me out of the story. Thre instead of thru. Zip instead of zit. Etc.
Great hero. The step mother was cool. Adorable twins. Book needs an editor.
Miss Fix-It interested me; because of the female handyman/builder aspect. This field is one dominated by men and so to read/see a women in that role was extraordinary.
Kali loves what she does and you see that love in her knowledge and how she interacts with her clients. I loved her relationship with her step-mom. It was cool to see them get along and have a strong bond. I also liked how real Kali’s thought processes is. It’s refreshing to read about the things she thinks; because as a women I’ve thought some of those things. I also liked her straightforwardness.
The dating site messages Kali and her friend get, well I laughed. Just to funny!
I found the twins adorable and their dad hot. The kids helped add a nice foundation for the relationship; between Brantley and Kali.
The small town aspect was hilarious. The gossip, the people in the restaurants, the idea that you had no privacy and your mom is going to find out everything, even before you tell.
Emma Hart, made the whole story feel realistic. Not fabricated or over the top. Everything flowed nicely and developed at the right paces.
All and all I had a delightful time with Miss Fix-It and plan on picking up another title by Emma Hart.
I like the concept of a gender-flip romance. Very rare to see a female MC doing a "manly job", so its refreshing to see and read. Kali Hancock is taking over her Dad's handyman company in their small-town. She's hired by the new, hot, single Dad to twins, Brantley Cooper. She might be instantly attracted to him but his twins make her cautious as she never envisioned herself being a mother. Brantley Cooper, trying his best and navigating a new town, isn't looking for anything more than stability and peace. Tough to do with cute 4-year old twins (whose way of talking got slightly annoying throughout).
Told all from Kali's perspective, which drove me bonkers, this was a slow and steady build up between her and Brantley. The twins were a constant whirlwind of tantrums, fights, crying and typical kid behavior that it kind of detracted from the romance.
Miss Fix it gets a sexy and colorful cover!!! But the story....the story behind it it's so good, so Lighthearted and fun, so sexy and entertaining. No matter how much you will enjoy the love story between Kaili & Brantley...the main attraction of this romance are those two adorable twins! U cannot fall in love with them! They get all the fun in this romance, put a smile on Kaili & Brent's faces, making their live brighter, less monotone and funny. They really show them, in their innocent way, how to live the moment and enjoy life every day! Kaili is a very stubborn and sassy girl. She tries so hard to not get affectionate by Brent and his twins, no matter how much she tries to deny it, that's a lost battle from the very beginning....but anyway she really tries to keep being professional....but her plans went out trough the windows because the attraction is undeniable, because Brent is irresistible and has a hot butt :) But the twins day after day put a spill on her, until she can't leave them anymore. Until she wants them all in her life,
Aside from the repeating sentences and some typos of which I could have worked my way through, I just could not connect with this book or these characters. OK, I get that the guy had a set of twins but the "kid talk" drove me absolutely crazy. Most 4 year olds talk better than that. By this time, I actually could not care less about the H/h getting together. The cover and blurb were great but the book just wasn't there. Way too many kid moments for me. Waste of time and money.
