At the age of ten, Sophia was offered a choice: join Program Occidis and train to become an assassin, or let her mother die.
Seven years later, Sophia’s life serves one purpose: to do the bidding of the narcissistic Danish billionaire who controls her, Norbert Alexander. But her panic attacks keep getting in the way of her job, and when she witnesses the death of another Member, Sophia knows her time of sanity is running out.
When the handsome new member of Occidis, Ilya, kidnaps her while on a job and tells her she’s been chosen to take down the man she’s served for almost half of her life, Sophia reluctantly accepts. Things start to unravel, however, and Sophia finds herself fighting to balance her attraction and distrust when the details of Ilya’s mysterious history come to light.
With her life threatened at every turn, Sophia goes on a transatlantic mission to destroy the man responsible for the deaths of so many.

review 3.5 stars I got a digital copy from The author Aisha Tritle in exchange for a fair review on Goodreads. first I want to thank her for giving me her debut novel. I really enjoyed it.
The opening line just pulled me in right away. my favorite character is probably Benny a pretty of obvious flamboyant guy lol. Sophia sometimes got on my nerves on the way she behaved but then I had to remember my teenage years and I probably acted the same in different circumstances though. I would definitely read the next installment.
When Sophia's father is killed and her mother seriously injured in an auto accident, Sophia is given an ultimatum; join Project Occidis and her mother will be cared for, or let her mother die. She is then trained as an assassin, and followed the orders of an evil organization, until she is given the opportunity to help take Occidis down. The author has written a very enjoyable new series, with a cast of characters and a storyline sure to keep the reader's interest.
Such a fun read! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who's a fan of exciting adventure novels...the storyline is interesting & the characters are engaging. A must-read!
I checked this out after it was suggested to me by a good friend of mine. I've never been known to read fiction of any kind but I will be looking forward to the rest of the books coming out and I will be recommending it to my friends and family. Just because it is a young adult novel doesn't mean others can't enjoy it either. There is something for everybody in Occidis!
(3.5) overall, I enjoyed this book. it was certainly a nice experience and I look forward to the next books in the series. the whole story dynamic was very intriguing. however, I do have some critics:
- romance wasn't very believable. I think the one way this could have been fixed is by including more romantic thoughts for our character early on. It seemed like she began to like him just because he was there. With a stronger execucition in following books I think the two will be great together.
-things seem to convenient especially towards the beginning. Perhaps it's because they only have a short time until the mission. A longer time spent in places would've helped.
-davey and kristin were sort of picked up and then thrown to the sidelines. What happened to davey after Kristin and Sophie left?
I received a copy of this book from StoryCartel in exchange for a fair review.
When I was reading Occidis, it took me a little while to get into the story. Once I did, though, I started to enjoy it. It really did seem better than some of the other self-published stuff out there. The pacing was good, and I found myself actually invested in the story by the end, all the way up to the inevitable cliffhanger. I found Sophie to be a little flat, however, and I would have liked to see her act less like every other YA heroine out there. I think the writing style shows promise, though.
