Great now there goes more of my retirement

I hope you all will put together a link that we who have been hooked can used to keep up. Since day one I have enjoyed the fullness of this universe. As a retired military I have time to read. I am averagely one to two books a day. The series that I enjoy are first on the list Which is long and varied, Doc Savage , Pip & Flux, Conan, Kill, John Charter, all Zane Gray, Louis L'Amour, Bret Hart, and all my Kindle books. Also Mercedes Lackey, The witches of karres, Ghost series by John Ringo, David Webber the war gods own, now all the books in this book. It can be destracing to say the lease trying to keep up. Being somewhat we!l read, I remember outhouses, time before TV, and the only friend I had wasa good book. It seems I have returned to that to!e a d your works are becoming old friends. Keep writing, cause Michael s WOR!d has grown so well that many can enjoy the ride.

A handy & necessary book!

Yes, this is a story. I'll admit that it's not the best of stories, but what it lacks there it makes up for in its actual purpose, which is summarizing the 'The Kurtherian Gambit' books and making sure that if you didn't read the "Terry Henry Walton" books you are now updated on those. While I'm sure you'd enjoy the next 4 series anyway, reading this book introduces the characters, and I'm very glad I read it.
I don't know if I ever posted which timeline I followed in reading the books. The one I used was easy to read and is the only way I was able to keep track. Here's the link:

These books are crazy good! Settings, action, characters, and stories are brought together and are vividly told, so you can see the action in your mind. What more could I ask for?

This is a great introduction to the new lives of TH, Char. & co., along with Valerie and Robin, too, and it looks like it's going to be a long, and bumpy, road that they've found themselves on.

But I feel that every step is going to be as interesting as this introduction - and with three separate series, Bad Company, Ghost Squadron, and Valerie's Elites, it looks like I've got a fun reading time coming for some time!

With this introduction, I'm certainly set for heading on out to my first adventure which, looking at my new reading list, looks like the first book in the Ghost Squadron series: Formation.

So, with thanks to Craig, Justin, and especially Michael, both for their great authors' notes, and their hints at future reading to come, I'm off to start this new journey into space...

Good but..

I enjoyed reading about TH, Char, their family, and the FDG going into space. It was awesome seeing it all come together. I was happy to see Val and Robin join them as well. But and here is my issue; Val and Robin didn't seem like themselves in this. They were hard to relate to and I felt them to be snobbish. In their series I never felt that way. I liked Valerie and the addition of Robin. Not so much here. They felt.. too good, better than everyone, more stand offish. I hope that changes back in future books. I was not their fan in this one.

So I read two books out of sequence. Didn't make any difference, just UN-confused my mind. Both books were excellent, but I think for a first timer ... maybe start with the TH series first. Just so you know the characters better. I can see someone coming in the middle of the party, where everyone knows your name, except yours. Perhaps put a disclaimer on the purchase page, because frankly, getting to know TH and Char from the beginning makes a difference.

I loved this new offshoot and will follow it with joy. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

A CM/JS/MA SYFY Novel of an Introduction To Space and New Technology

CM has penned a SYFY novel about the arrival of an unknown space craft that visits Earth and recruits TWH and the FDG. The Queen has tasked TWH and the FDG to proceed to another galaxy to prevent severe problems for the Vampire Queen. Enroute to the new area the FDG receives super enhancements and for most there are no consequences. However, an ancient gene in some is reactivated. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Mish mash but in a good way

So there are some of my favorite characters who have been dealing with post apocalyptic earth and they finally get to explore the universe. I'm really looking forward to reading Valerie's and TH's series. I do hope Val and Robin do NOT get back together after how Robin just DROPPED Valerie previously. Val needs a strong equal, or two lol. I'd prefer to see a permanent same gender relationship, or a polyamorous one but those are my quirks and I look forward to however the four new series turn out.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been reading my way through the TKG universe with all the different series (awesome universe, by the way), finding that some characters were in other books. Hence finding The Age of Expansion and The Age of Magic, what series do I start next?! Gateway is just the segue I needed into The Age of Expansion, and of course BA herself in The Kurtherian Endgame.
Thank you to all 3 authors for all of the fun and excitement you bring to my days.

Wow!

Fantastic start to the Age of Expansion! If you found this and you haven't read the back story I recommend you go back first (and you will not regret it if you do)

It's always hard when people are thrown together and the authors did a great job of writing the merging of the three arcs and keeping the tension going between the funny and the action. Whoever wrote Bob is a genius, for the two minutes he was there he was hilarious!

Next, please!

Don't know why I finished it.

I like space opera as much as anyone. Love a good merc group going out and blowing stuff up. What I got was a "military" group with zero discipline, zero respect for its leadership and a story that consisted of a bunch of people in a space ship eating, arguing, bitching and moaning. Oh and near the very end about 10 pages of action then back to boring.

A bunch of tough characters hang out on a spaceship

Gateway to the Universe is kind of like a mediocre Star Trek series pilot. It brings a lot of interesting characters together but then not all that much happens. It's a shame too considering what a talented group of authors wrote the book. Personally I'd recommend skipping this book and reading some of the authors' other books instead. But maybe you'll love this book, so use your own judgement.

An excellent transition

This book was quite a fun read! We started with a series of vignettes on all the major characters plus many of the other ones. I especially enjoyed the one with the POV of one of the series of coonhounds that gave the stories a little bit of depth.
NOT giving spoilers, it’s not easy to tell what the rest of the book is about, other than that it shows the FDG in their move to space.

Going to be great

After reading the two different series and then seeing the characters interact took a little getting use to. After awhile it started to jell!! Can’t wait to see what happens next. Looks like there will be more series split from this one which will be great MORE TO READ!!

The best yet!

I believe I have read all of the books in the KGU series as soon as they have come out. All except a couple have been excellent but this new addition to the family was extraordinary! Although a little slow getting started it gathered momentum and kept my attention to the very end. A true page turner.

Great Starter!

OK, loved it! Love the Ei ship, the dog who I'm not sure who he is suppose to be bound too or his function but great character casts and writing. Very recommended but please read the main Series first and then the Terry Henry Walton Series next minimal! The other series are great bonus reads too. Enjoy

Great

If this is the first book, set in the Kurtherian dimension, that you are considering, my advice is to go back and start at the beginning. It isn’t necessary to enjoy this book, but you are missing out on a lot of great stories if you don’t. This is a strong transitory book that gets the FDG, Valerie, and the rest into space and on their way towards their own new series` .

Great books

If you like science fiction mixed with paranormal you will love this series. I have read all the books in the Kurtherian Gambit series and they are all good books. I have not read 1 yet that I did not like. The characters are all well written and the story lines are all great.

Fluff. Shallow story line. Seemed like just introductory story. Mehh.

Just didn't grab my attention. Felt all most thrown together and mass produced. Like step 1- create outline, step 2 - create some dialog. Felt stiff and boring. Would likely never read again and completely forgettable.

Off To The Stars

TH, Char, and family are leaving Earth charged by BA to deliver justice to the stars. This book is a transition from the first series to four new series. Old friends like TH and Valerie will have new series helping BA enforce peace in the universe. I like the action, snarky humor, and love. I look forward to the next books.

What did I just read?

I read this book thinking I was getting an epic space journey/battles. Not so much...more like a long running continuation story with various characters added as needed to get the “original” players some added protagonists. I have read two other books in this lose confederation of stories, but I am rapidly losing interest.

Great start for TH moving to space

And that’s how you do it folks, moving characters from Earth to space where they can continue the fight for justice! We see how everyone gets on board the Terry Henry Walton wagon, Ted starts to show his mind brilliance and just for kicks, let’s not forget to throw in some space action. Loved it!

Woohoo

TH and Char take the FDG into space and their first battle takes place as soon as they leave our galaxy and is against alien pirates. An awful lot to face in the beginning. Of course they rise to the occasion. Craig, Justin and Michael write great characters and stories. This book is a great intro to the Age of Expansion. Here I go! Enjoy and follow me!

Excellent, as usual

This book, as usual for those coming out of The Kurtherian Gambit universe, was excellent, and reads quickly. It is setting up several series, all of which I'm looking forward to reading.

One note: while this has no impact on my rating, this book does meet my preferred average chapter length of taking me about 10-15 minutes to read.

Watcha gonna do?

Being asked that question often can give oneself experience in decision making easy. It's really simple. Verbal or Visual. A yeah or nay but flipping that coin is a piece of cake. TH has it covered easy peasy. Just ask Charamati his werewolf wife.

Outstanding

So far, so goof. Loved it. So much excitement, adventure and unexpected danger. Putting Terry and crew with Nathan a stroke of genius. Adding Valerie and Robin great. I see great things are in store.

Great start

I love these kinds of books. Here we have a group close out their past and head into a new future. Old friends meet up with our other old friends. What’s better than that?
