A classic novel of romance, mystery and suspense now in eBook!

Whitney McCallie hasn't heard from her friend and mentor, Victoria Paderevsky, in years, but now the eccentric symphony conductor calls her out of the blue. A well-known diva, Paddy swears someone is trying to kill her. Whitney is skeptical but she heads to Florida to see what she can do. She's met by Daniel Graham, who is convinced Paddy is a victim only of her own paranoia. Whitney is inclined to agree, but they soon realize someone did try to kill Paddy…and now the would-be killer is stalking Whitney. As the threats—and the danger—mount, Whitney and Daniel must trust each other to stop a determined killer.

The Uneven Score is the recipient of a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award.

Carla Neggers is the New York Times bestselling author of the Sharpe & Donovan series featuring Boston-based FBI agents Emma Sharpe and Colin Donovan, and the popular Swift River Valley series set in the small, fictional New England town of Knights Bridge. With many bestsellers to her credit, Carla loves to write now as much as she did when she climbed a tree at age eleven with a pad and pen and spun stories perched on her favorite branch.

A native New Englander, Carla and her husband divide their time between their hilltop home in Vermont, a sofa bed at their kids' places in Boston and various inns, hotels and hideaways on their travels, frequently to Ireland.

Read online via my local library. It's cute and entertaining. My biggest critique is that he main woman character and her friend (the only other major woman character) are frequently immensely stupid. Normally, that bothers me but it seems to work in this novel. It's very quirky, I guess. So how much you like it will vary, I imagine.

Not one of Neggers' best books, but a fairly cute romantic mystery set in and around a Florida orchestra.

This was an easy read. Not one of my favorites. But was nice on a cold snowy day next to the fire.
