My Review:

Although I had high hopes for this story, it kind of fell flat for me.

The downfall of a “celebrity” using the media – a salutary tale – an eye-opener

This comic collection deals with a media personality, Nash Huang, whose life is ruined by social media, jealousy and betrayal by many around her. It shows how social media and fans can turn from positive to negative in an instant. There are a few related sub-plots and the characters are quite well-developed.

Artwork is reasonably clear and colourful and the story moves along at a fair pace with flashbacks. The digital edition has a series of relevant essays at the en as well. Quite good and it makes a “pleasant” change.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure this would be my cup of tea. It’s not the usual “style” of comic i'll pick up.
But it just took a couple of pages for me to fall in love with Nash! Such a quirky and fun character, she really made me smile.
And the colouring, it is amazing!!

But also, besides the fun and humour, it’s about something that is far too common in the “real” world. Internet harassment, bullying and cyberstalking...
So, all in all, an interesting start from Image.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this comic. The writing was clever and the characters had fun relationships. I was surprised by a couple twists at the end. I will be waiting for the Trade paperback tk finosh this story.

As a woman who would prefer to not be stalked and murdered, I found this book to be very scary. The art was very cool, but some of the interplay between different scenes, or between things occurring online vs. irl, was hard to follow, making for a confusing plot at times.

Really enjoyed the overall story presented and the art style as well.

Found some points in the plot to be somewhat confusing, such as the detective being attacked. But overall, really nice to see something like this in comics.

Packs a fucking wallop. To be truthful, it isn’t anything new, especially in the age of shitty internet people. But it shines an insanely important light on cancel culture, and how the internet expects everyone to be perfect, except the people they hate.

Great, if terrifying, story. Gorgeous colors. The art isn't really my cup of tea but it is effective. Love the information in the back about how to get help if you're being harassed or stalked, and the real stories about women in tech fields. An important read.

The art is very creative. I'm going to look for more of this artist's work. The entire comic was original. The dialogue was modern and hip. It looked like the story came to an end, but this is only the first issue (It's a long one, too.). I already bought the first volume.

The story was interesting, but the execution wasn't always great. Lost track of what was going on even though it made sense later. The back material was good.

I saw this on the NEW BOOKS shelf at the library so did a quick look up on GoodReads and decided to check it out. This Graphic Novel/Comic centers on the character Nash Huang, who works on a popular variety/news program and is fully involved with social media. Her world starts to downward spiral when a hack of her employer's computers results in a video of her being leaked/released. there were some truths in here about life in the digital age...cyber stalking, being recorded without your knowledge/permission, being trashed on social media ("never read the comments"). I found the book to be okay, but some of the transitions were a bit jarring/confused, in my opinion.
