Larkin provides a good old fashioned zombie thriller with her debut thriller novel, Time to Run. The story follows Lydia Brown and Tim Sparks as they attempt to survive an apocalyptic zombie infiltration that has hit London. The novel is a quick read that has high potential for a sequel.

A woman witnesses a horrific attack and ends up fleeing the city as the world descends into chaos.

It is pretty clear from the first few pages what the ‘biters’ are. The scenes of death and destruction are well handled. The initial sense of bewilderment, turning into an instinct to ‘fight and survive’ was convincingly conveyed. The loose banding together of survivors was believable. The pace was good with the story never losing momentum.

If you are a fan of the ‘Walking Dead’ then this book is worth a look.

I have been a fan of Zombies since I saw The Living Dead movie when I was in high school to this day with the Walking Dead TV show. My husband calls it the Walking Stupid, as you guessed, he's not a fan. I feared that I may compare this book to the TV show. In a way I did, because I found myself talking to the characters the way I talk and yell at the TV. None of them pay any attention to me.

I love the way Ms Larkin brings the character's baggage into the new world of life or death by the biters. Why stop now with the bad habits or addictions? The world is coming to an end. I'd be drinking up a storm and probably start smoking again.

Of course, just I picture it would be in real life is something like was to happen, people go crazy and just when you think they might be safe......

I'm waiting on the next book please!

Hits the Ground Running! A fast-paced thriller that sinks its teeth into the meat of the story from the get-go. Reporter Lydia Brown is on the scene of a surreal and gruesome sickness, whereupon she meets Tim Sparks. The two team up and peel the hell out of London once the news of a virus spreads, fighting "biters" along the way. As their wit and killing skills sharpen, their rescue party grows. After all, they say there is safety in numbers... or so they hope.
The storyline is contagious. I didn't want to put it down. Zombie fans (and those of The Walking Dead) will surely be infected.

A good Zombie story. Well written and a good description of her characters. Especially Lydia Brown. This is the first Zombie story that I have read and I found it quite entertaining. Riveting read. I'll be looking forward to the next book from Denise Larkin.

A Greek Getaway Love Thriller

Phillipa flees London to mend her broken heart, accepting friend Marina's invitation to Cyprus. It's just what Phillipa needs, a relaxing month in Paphos to feel like herself again.
She immediately meets Dimitri, a tall, dark and handsome bungalow neighbor. She's quite taken with him, and he is attracted to her just as quickly.
Her better judgment fights the urges he provokes, but he is determined, knowing they will be together, and wears her down. Against her good senses, she falls hook, line, and sinker.
Except...there's something dark about Dimitri, besides his good looks.
He proclaims his desire to be with her and yet beautiful women seem to dot his path wherever he goes. When his hotel business partner reveals herself as his fiancee, Phillipa is determined to stay away. He insists they are not engaged, it's Helena and their parents who think it's a good merging idea. For a while, Phillipa is stubborn and doesn't believe it. But soon Dimitri smooths things over and wilts her with his charm. Still, she waffles on whether it's a good idea to be with this man--a man in which she has already fallen in love.
He takes her out for an elegant dinner and her qualms are calmed. Until the moment she excuses herself to go the ladies room and comes back to see a stunning woman kissing him. Can she ever trust this Casanova?
He explains it off as a cousin, and though doubtful at first, Phillipa is satisfied once again. But when a woman of his past turns up dead and he may have been the intended victim, or worse--the killer-- Phillipa's worries are heightened. Even she may be in danger, he warns. So he stays close and their heated passion carries on.
Until the object of her heartbreak comes to win her back. Between Jake's begging for forgiveness and pleas to take him back, and Dimitri 's brooding handsomeness and suspicious dealings, Phillipa is tormented with indecision.
Should she fall for Jake's act? Is Dimitri as innocent as he claims? What started as an island escape turns into a game of cat and mouse to the very end.

*(The characters are smitten so fast, there must be something in the island air, and then I remember, it's the essence of Aphrodite, goddess of love. It's also a tourist spot Phillipa explores with Dimitri. )

Fantastic story with some amazing characters. Couldn't stop reading this book from start to finish. It totally got to me and every character especially Tim and Lydia stood out. The fact that it was set in London interested me. It was a super brilliant read. I recommend this book to anybody that loves thrilling dystopian fiction! I can't wait for book 2 and I am following the author to make sure I am notified when it comes out!

A Gripping read! This book is a dystopian page-turner. It follows the trials and tribulations of a group of people trying to escape the clutches of the 'biters'. The characters are believable and I found myself rooting for them to succeed! There is a lot of action and suspense, and by the end of the novel, I couldn't wait to see what would happen to everybody in the sequel! I would recommend this book as a thoroughly good read.

Just ok

It was just so hard to follow because of the way it was written. Troubling to read because of the way it went.
