Where he meets Marilyn and is fascinated with her . She now so much . Will their night of passion become more .
The characters in the book are amazing I loved them . They are well written and complex. The main character Marilyn aka Holly is a hoot . She is a fighter and boy can she give as good as she gets . She is hiding some heartbreak but she comes through it. She is independent and has a hard time with too many people in her house . Marty is a hot shot fire jumper . This is a fun, fast paced book, I couldn’t put down. The characters are sassy, funny, strong, and stubborn making them believable and interesting. There is plenty to enjoy in this story - including a little suspense. I can’t wait to read what happens next.

What do you get when you put Marty Jones and Holly Smith together to dance? A wild chain reaction of dance, sex, dance ,sex and evening more dancing. They could burn down any building just doing either of those two things. I don't think either of them could actually believe what is happening because it hits them HARD!!!! It's a quick read but boy , oh boy, I was glad that I took that time!!!

A lovely feel good romance story. I didn't warm to the hero, Marty, at the start as he bulldozed his way through everything he done, but as the story unfolded I thawed out and was rooting for him in the end. I loved how feisty Holly is and how she stands up for herself making her feelings known and heard. It is an interesting read and kept me entertained. I will definitely look out for the other titles in this series.

Wow, just wow! This third Smoke, Inc tale is packed full of everything that I've enjoyed in the previous books, plus so much more. More funny, more steam, more emotion… More everything.

Marty and Holly's story is perfectly titled, considering their meeting on the dance floor and Marty's subsequent efforts to find a Rhythm in the relationship. I did have a bit of an eye-roll moment with their first encounter, mostly due to Holly's circumstances, but their chemistry is undeniable and this pair is nothing short of scorching hot together.

Holly is a bit of a loner and doesn't share many personal details with anyone, which leads to an amusing misunderstanding of who she is and some rather inappropriate comments from Marty. As he slowly inserts himself into Holly's life, the quirky bunch of Smoke, Inc begins to pull her into their world whether she likes it or not, and some of them are hilariously pushy about it.

Finally, we get to the suspense in this entertaining read. It's not a right in your face, here's a mystery type of thing. Instead, it sort of trickles into the story, sometimes in ways that seem completely innocuous until it all comes together. I'll admit that some of those little moments didn't appear to have much to do with the story at first and I did wonder why they were even included in the story, but it does all make sense in the end and makes for an interesting bit of suspense without getting overly angsty.

To sum it up, RHYTHM is an engaging read with some absolutely lovable characters and loads of laughs, plus a splash of danger. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the characters in the Smoke, Incstories, but Marty and Holly's romance is hands down, my favorite.

My first book by this author and I thought the story sounded great from the blurb. Sorry, I just didn't like this one and could not finish.

The actual writing (grammar etc) was fine, but I felt nothing between this couple at all and the character development was cookie cutter. First there was 'going nowhere' chatter between other characters (obviously from another book) and the heroine for a couple of chapters while they waited for the hero to make an appearance. The elevator scene at the beginning made the hero seem just a bit weird. The whole 10 hours of their dance-off was described just as that. 10 hours later... (apart from a little bit of description at the beginning of the night) So, I couldn't even imagine the actual dancing, the struggle of doing that all night etc. As to the baseball bat reference... Hmm.

The author could have written heaps about feelings during the arduous hours of dancing, what they were thinking, thrown in witty banter etc - but nothing. Just mentioned twisty moves, the hero frowning constantly, eyelash batting, blisters, then it was the morning.

Anyway, as soon as the H/h left after the dance off and went to the office, I'm afraid their first 'romance' scene had me saying - seriously ??? No. Way. DNF. I love romance, and steamy scenes, but this one did not gel with me at all. (no spoiler as to details) Plus Marty -I couldn't get past that name for a hero. Sorry to the author. Readers, don't let my review put you off - you may love this book.

Holly Smith thought repaying a favor for her friends aunt would end after the music ended. However, things progress in a direction Holly's never experienced before with a man and unfortunately her interaction with Marty Jones doesn't end when she walks out the door with "Have Maxine bill me" as his goodbye.

For Marty Jones it's been 6 years since he's felt the need to have a woman. But after his date "Marilyn" he's determined to find her and connect with her in a way that he's only really felt with his deceased wife. But finding his "Marilyn" isn't as easy as he might've thought it'd be, and when he does finally find her she's not the same playful and saucy woman she was the night of the charity dance.
Holly is an independent woman who is determined to not let people close. She has her 2 friends and a house that is in need of remodeling that she has determined to do herself. What she doesn't need is a bossy high maintenance man trying to come in and boss her around. And she most definitely doesn't need the little gift Marty has bestowed upon her.

Four plus stars.

Rhythm is part of Gem Sivad's Smoke, Inc. series, a company of elite smoke jumpers and firefighters. In Rhythm, Marty Jones, the CEO of Smoke, Inc., needs a partner for a charity dance-a-thon, and opts to hire one from his building's tenant, Maxine's Baby Doll Escort Service. He isn't interested in company--he just needs to fulfill his obligation to participate.

Holly Smith isn't really an escort, but as a favor for a friend, she agrees to partner a local CEO for an upcoming charity dance event. She doesn't have time to date, or honestly, much of anything else. She's focused on juggling her multiple jobs and restoring the old home she's bought.

These two find they are not only magic on the dance floor, they are surprisingly well matched off it. Because of a series of misunderstandings, it takes these two some time to discover that common ground. A warm and supportive secondary cast of characters add to the story's appeal. It's easy to root for these two to hit their rhythm!

A great feel good story with humor that keeps you laughing. At first I didn’t care too much for Marty but he does grow on you and becomes someone I really liked. Dancing which I love to do but am not good at really pulled me in. I had no trouble picturing their moves as the steam built up moving them right into the next stage of their relationship. Dancing can lead to many things such as chain reaction that can lead to some wild hot nights when the chemistry is just right like with Marty and Maxine. These two have no trouble doing the wild thing when their bodies touch on the dance floor.

I thought the characters were interesting which kept the book moving holding my attention giving a great funny read that had me laughing out loud a few times. There is nothing like a take charge kind of man who meets a sassy little thing who doesn’t let anyone run over top of her. I did stay up late to finish it I just loved how they interacted and keep me laughing.

I legit LOVED this book! Very fun book to read! I finished it in probably a week at work because I could not put it down! The characters are so stubborn but they’re comically lovable. Holly, one of the main characters, is one of the most enjoyable characters to read about since so many can relate to how she reacts to situations! With Holly and Marty always butting heads, it keeps readers on their toes to know what will happen in the next chapter. The plot line is great and how the book is set up in first person narrative, it is great to see how both characters think and react! Overall, VERY VERY good read and I highly recommend to at least give it a try, you’ll never know if you like it!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING

This is an absolutely hilarious romance adventure. Marty hires someone to be a dance partner for a charity event. Their beginning relationship and other events that take place make for a very entertaining story. Add a stalker for additional suspense and your have a well rounded story.

Sexy, smoke eating alpha male meets a fiercely independent, talented dancer. Will they find their rhythm in sync or will they be off stride and discordant? Great story from a wonderful series, Rhythm has well developed characters, an engaging story and a steamy romance. This ever growing family by choice gets better with every novel. Can’t wait to read more of their stories.
