“How did one say ‘I’m your new babysitter’ to a grown man?”

This is an opposites attract romance done right. Jack has been an activist for a while now and he doesn’t hesitate to face anyone in order to protect what he believes in, even if that means going up against his own father’s law firm or landing in jail… many many times … On the other hand, Candance has her own goals, working on a high paying job was her dream that actually came true when she got hired at a prestigious law firm. The only problem was that the law firm was the one Jack’s father has and the first assignment for Candace was to keep Jack out of jail even if that means stopping him from reaching his goals.

There were plenty of funny scenes in this book since it didn’t take long for Jack and Candance to annoy each other, but what i liked most in this story was the way their relationship progressed. It wasn’t like the usual repetitive cycle of hate - sex - hate again until the characters decide that they are in love just because we have reached the end of the book. In “Don’t let him go” we can see that the main character are annoying each other in the beginning, but they never do unforgivable things and it doesn’t take long for them to learn more about the reasons that led each of them to act this way.

Little by little, they start to understand each other and they manage not only to improve their relationship, but also change the way they are thinking and improve the way they communicate with other people too. I was so happy to read about this couple because there was no overdrawn drama between them, they always communicated, they didn’t hesitate to acknowledge and express their feelings and while they did strive to improve one another, they always respected each other’s individuality.
“I accept who you are. Your passion. Your determination. Your freaking stubborness. It’s all part of you and i love you. All of you. Even when you are a complete pain in the ass.”

For those of you wondering if there is any love triangle in this book, i would say no there isn’t. When Candance didn’t know very well Jack, she agreed to go on a date with another man just because there wasn’t any reason at the time to say no, but the date didn’t happen because she had to go get Jack out of jail. Even though they agreed to go on a date again that never happened and after she got close to Jack, not only she told him everything about the other man, but she promised to inform that man that she was now seeing someone else, a promise that she indeed fulfilled.

A wonderful story about two people fighting really what their parents are or at least their presumptions. Candace Gleason has passed the bar and is working for a top law firm in San Francisco, her parents have always been activists and they are famous. They are also lawyers but do not work for any top law firms. Now having the job she has wanted she is hoping to climb the ladder. Her first high profile job is babysitting the boss’s eldest son Jack Morrison, who everyone feels is the black sheep of the family. He has taken his trust fund and is using it against the corporations like his fathers who go in the inner city and displace families giving them nowhere else to move. The reason he does this when he tells Candace really sets the story apart from other books. He is happy she is working with him and his nonprofit company, but does not make easy for her in the beginning. It begins to become dicey when the both of them start to act on the feelings they have for one another and then on top of everything she feels like she betrayed him, but not really. She does something that no other women had ever done and that was track him down, and let me tell you it was not easy. He was not in the U.S. For me I liked the story and the author did a good job of not making you feel or at least me feel like it was a multicultural story, being in one myself I did not pick up on anything and I thought that the writing and the characters, from the lead to even Jack’s sectary were all well-defined. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Newly graduated from law school, 26 year old Candace Gleason is mystified when her first task at her new job is that of babysitting her boss’ oldest son, Jack Morrison, who seems to have a vendetta against his family. Curious, yet up for the challenge, Candace meets Jack at his office, only to be ambushed and humiliated by him on national television. Seething, she is relieved when he advises he is going out of town. After Jack’s younger brother, Hayden, asks Candace to dinner, she accepts, but has to cut the date short when a phone call quickly has her on a plane to Jack’s location, in order to bail him out of jail. From that moment, Candace learns quite a lot about Jack’s plight, his passions and priorities, and starts to fall for him in a big way – so much so, that she resigns from her job to be with him. With jealousies between Jack and Hayden at an all-time high, tensions reach breaking point when Candace accepts her first – and possibly last – dinner at the Morrison Mansion.

Kay Harris’ first book in the I Want Morrison series gives the excellent premise of two brothers, each with different ideals, fighting for the affections of the same woman. I found it odd that the first half of the story was from Candace’s point of view and the second half from Jack’s, but Kay Harris’ choice to do this made perfect sense by the time I reached the book’s end. With brothers from a high-class family vying for the heart of a woman from a middle-class household, and conflicts seeming to come from all directions, the story is exciting and highly imaginative, keeping the reader’s interest piqued from start to finish. Many incidents which you would expect to occur result in quite the opposite, and an unexpected attraction develops, with incredibly steamy interludes. I thoroughly enjoyed this love story with a difference, and recommend it to readers who like a steamy romance filled with adventure, humor, passion, drama, and a world of surprises.

Don’t Let Him Go is a charming contemporary romance featuring an interracial couple; Jack Morrison is the epitome of the rich white trust-fund kid… right up until he realizes that his family’s corporation is ruining lives when they buy up old rent-controlled buildings and evict existing tenants in order to turn the buildings into high-priced luxury homes. After five years ‘finding himself’ he comes back and starts a non-profit dedicated to fighting the battles those tenants can’t afford for themselves. Of course, this puts him on a collision course with his family’s corporation.

Candace Gleason has come from the exact opposite background – the biracial daughter of two lifelong activists, she dreams of stability, security and making a name for herself as a corporate attorney to be respected. The only problem is that her first job working for Morrisons’ corporate law department is an assignment to babysit the black sheep of the family and try to keep him out of jail for his activist actions.

I thought Jack and Candace were a fantastic couple. The sparks of attraction were obvious between them from their very first meeting and Candace’s internal wrestling with herself over her ethical obligations and the desires of her heart were moving and very believable. Jack irritated me at first, especially with his refusal to call Candace by her preferred name which seemed disrespectful, but the story of how he came to realize where his life’s truth calling lay was moving and I felt I understood him a lot better by the end of the story. The pair of them really did belong together and I felt that they would make a great team fighting for the poor and dispossessed.

There were a few editing issues in the book, but certainly nothing that spoiled my enjoyment of the story. I absolutely love the cover of this book; the couple on it look just like I imagined Jack and Candace. I’m rating it a solid four stars and I’d enjoy reading more works by the author.

Received an ARC for my voluntary review for reading deals. I think this is the last time that I will read from this author. I may be the minority here, this is just not for me, not bad per se, but again not for me. Candace is a lawyer who is tasked to "baby sit" Jack and activist to keep him out of trouble. Thought I could get into story, read it, but still didn't capture my interest..

There are so many facets required to create a unique story that will keep people captivated from beginning to end. I love the writing style of Kay Harris as we still get both perspectives, however they were split in two parts, but it worked for how the story needed to be told.

Jack Morrison, left his family life and disappeared for five years after a crisis of conscience. He returned to run a non-profit organisation trying to help low income families retain their living arrangements. The problem with this is that it is in direct oppostion to what his family does, owning a large corporate legal firm. Their newest hire Candace has been tasked with the job of babysitting Jack and making sure he stays out of jail due to his penchant for protesting.

Sparks fly immediately between Jack and Candie, however he is her client and they are basically enemies as far as their work lives are concerned. Her parents are born activists and she can see the good that Jack is trying to achieve.

This whole story was well paced, had great dialogue, hot sexual tension followed with great sexual chemistry and a great support network. Can't wait to read about the other Morrison siblings in the near future.

Do polar opposites attract? Yes, they do!

Candace Gleason, a newly minted corporate lawyer and Jack Morrison, a community activist and her employer's trust fund son meet when she's assigned to be his spy/babysitter/shadow. It's her job to keep him out of trouble as much as she can or at the very least post bail! Jack loves to get under Candie's skin, and she makes it so easy for him. Candace just wants to keep her job. Between Jack and her law firm it's a wonder if a girl doesn't lose more than her mind and her job!

Before very long, the uptown girl and the (nowadays) downtown guy are on the same page and they vow not to let business interfere with their pleasure. Candace and Jack are both caught between a rock and hard place with a lot to lose besides each other. I like that this couple didn't play cat and mouse and once they were all in -- they were in -- completely.

He looked like a combination of an old-school hippie, a disillusioned GQ model, and a Greek god. -Candace

One of my favorite scenes:

“What happened to you to give you such low self-esteem?” I asked.

Her back straightened. “What? I do not have low self-esteem.”

“Oh, really? How come you freaked out when I touched your stomach?” I reached over the counter and moved my hand down along her torso. She didn’t pull away this time.

“Look, I’ve been sitting in front of a computer for the last several years. I know my tummy is a little… round.”

“It’s perfect is what it is.” I stood up and rounded the counter so I could kneel down in front of her. I lifted up her shirt and licked a path across her belly button.

She let out a long sigh. “You don’t have to say things like that. I’ll still sleep with you.”

“Baby, this belly is hot as hell.”

“I thought men liked flat stomachs.”

“Men like what men like. Don’t put us into some standard category. And I like this.”

She chuckled, which made her belly move and I gave it a little nip.

Sweet story.

This was received through Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

The entire story was told in first person, mostly through Candace’s POV. A portion of the book was devoted to Jack’s first person POV. This is book 1 in the ‘I Want Morrison’ series, so called because each book tells the story on one Morrison sibling. This is Jack’s story, the eldest Morrison child.

Candance Gleason…Candie to her dad and Jack…has finally achieved her dream. She is a new lawyer at a top firm, ready to work her way up the corporate ladder. Just when she thinks she has it all figured out, she is assigned to…Jack Morrison.

Activist, devilishly handsome, reckless, he is the bane of his family’s empire. And a major thorn to Candance. Except now she is hired to keep him out of jail, trouble, and the media spotlight. Not an easy task for someone who delights in thumbing his nose at anything and anyone who gets in his way. Someone who seemingly lives to taunt and tease.

One the surface, this looks like a case of rich kid rebellion. It goes much deeper. Jack’s arrogance is actually a driving passion to make positive changes in other’s lives. Underprivileged people’s lives. He is not above using his privileges to aid in his quest, to help those less fortunate, those being beleaguered by his own ‘type of people’.

Ms. Harris does a fantastic job of creating Jack, a multi-layered character who has so much good to offer if one can see past what seems like obvious character flaws. What I did not care for, and what keeps my rating a little lower, is the constant use of the character’s names in dialogue. While I personally like the name Jack, and see the need to identify who is speaking to whom, I do not care to see their names each and every time they are spoken to. There are better literary tools to identify who is being talked to. This is truly a case of “less is more”. IMHO.

Next, initially I found the whole premise of a family–specifically a wealthy, driven, family like the Morrison’s, hiring their newest firm lawyer to “babysit” their grown son a bit farfetched. If they waited, and gave him enough rope, he would surely hang himself, get jailed for a lengthy stay, and it would put an end to the activist activities that plague the family. It would be must cheaper, quicker, and easier than wasting a babysitter to keep him leashed. For that reason alone, I nearly stopped reading.

However, I am glad I kept on. The story goes much deeper than that summary. The Morrison family does not want Jack in jail, or in any trouble. To avoid spoilers, let me just say when I kept reading, and got to know the family, and Jack’s motivations, better, the loyalty and bonds between them–and the sibling rivalry–between them all became clear.

Lastly, the chemistry between Candace and Jack felt real. Their dialogue–sans the repetitive name usage–was witty and fun. The shift from irritation to attraction was gradual enough to make it believable. Candace’s move from realizing all her dreams to inheriting a pain in the butt to falling for him once she witnesses his motivations make her real as well. The pacing is great. Candace and Jack’s opposite personalities make a great mesh.

Overall, I enjoyed this book 1 in the I Want Morrison series. It is a stand alone book with no cliffhangers.

Fresh out of college and successfully passing the bar, Candace is ready to take on the world. She comes from a "hippie" type family who attends sit-ins, protests, picketing, and occasional jailhouse visits. Going against her upbringing Candace prefers the finer things in life assuming that it would make her happy. She knows that she is the low person on the corporate ladder, so when she is assigned to watch over, baby-sit, over a proverbial thorn in the families side. She is headstrong, compassionate, open minded, and will do her extreme best to make the boss happy.

John "Jack" had every finer things in life and hated every moment of it. He loves his family, but loves his non-profit organization that helps the under dogs. He loves helping every aspect of life and it completes the hole he felt in his life. An officer seems to have it out for Jack and arrests him forcing Candace to pick him up. This woman has stolen his heart, works for the "corporate man", but has a giving heart. When Jack's brother begins flirting with Candace another level of problems add up against them. No matter how hard they fight the differences between them, their attractions cannot be ignored.

I love the yin and yang of this story. The rich the poor, the housed the homeless, the abused the abusers, and finding a way to change for the better. I love the dynamics of the family. Both brothers fought against each other, but when the little sister is born a bond is deep between the oldest and the youngest. The family tries to put the past and the tender subjects out of family brunch that takes place every week. I loved the moral dilemma that Candace faces between her love for Jack or the job she loves. I couldn't imagine a decision like that in my life.

It was told in the narrative of Jack and Candace and the way things looked through their eyes. The words were easy to understand and follow, yet it wasn't like reading a picture book!

This story had humor, the LGBT for and against, the truth about human trafficking, loss, suffering, and a love that fought against the bad odds to survive. There was very little talk of sex and the scenes were very demure. All this aspects created a round and fulfilling story, with the suggestion of more to the story at the end. That last page leaves you wanting to continue on the adventure. I was given this book to review from the author/publisher through Reading Alley and in exchange I give my unbiased opinion.

While Candace Gleason was growing up she felt like there was more to life that what her parents were teaching her. So she made a plan for her career path and also for her personal life. But everything she thought she wanted is about to be turned upside down when she meets a man unlike any she's ever met before.

Jack Morrison was expected to lead his life a certain way but an unexpected event changes his course. He's been working hard for his non-profit that keeps him from an serious relationship, but he's about to meet his match when his family sends him a new "babysitter".

Their first meeting was electric and send sparks flying neither expected.

They try to fight their growing feelings but their connection can't be denied for long.

But when all is said and done, will they be able to find a way to make their relationship when their career paths pulls them in different directions and also pitting them against each other?

Don't Let Him Go is a captivating, sassy, passionate read that takes the reader on a journey that will sweep them off their feet.

Candace is a feisty, strong, independent that isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Her morals and ethics are endearing and makes her relatable to readers. I love how passionate she tries to always do what's right, even if it goes against those she cares about. Her unwavering love for family despite sometimes feeling like she is nothing like them is heartwarming. She's a well rounded, caring person you can't help fall in love with.

Jack is not just your typical activist, he's also smart, talented, kind, and handsome. When he believes in something, he believes with his whole heart and soul. His love for his family even if they don't believe in his believes is delectable. I really admire his spirit and passion in giving back.

I really enjoyed how Jack and Candace got to know each other both in the bedroom and out. Their connection is intense right from the start and only magnifies as the story progresses. And when it comes to the bedroom... wow!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Don't Let Him Go from start to finish. The storyline was enthralling, the hero enticing, the heroine enchanting, and the romance exciting.

If you are looking for something fun, light, saucy, and light on the angst, then I highly recommend you pick Don't Let Him Go. If you do, you'll definitely not want to let this Morrison get away.

Yes, this is another one of those stories where the main character falls head over heels for the rich leading man and they tumble into a quick and intense romance. But what is different this time, to me, is the growth that the two characters go through as the story progresses. Candace grew up with a couple of hippies always fighting the good fight, but always wanted to live the rich, lavish life. Jack grew up in that rich, lavish life, and preferred to be the one fighting the good fight. It's these opposite ideals in life that actually make them perfectly compatible in every way because they complement each other so well. It turns out they actually want the same things out of life, only use different tactics to get there. And they need each other to pull it off.

The fire in their relationship is based on their individual intensities. That intensity fuels the fire more and more, creating a passion for love and each other, but also a passion in their own lives and what they do. Another thing I liked about this story is how that passion contributes to events over time that prevent them from having a perfect storybook romance. They have one huge defining battle and a then a couple more sprinkled along the way. That part gives more of a sense of realism in their relationship.

I will admit that I still do have a hard time with these super intense, quick romances. And I'm not sure if I could be so forgiving so quickly for what appears to be a huge betrayal. Nevertheless, this book was an enjoyable way to spend a cold winter's evening. It's very clear that there is to be another book in the series, thanks to a cliffhanger in the epilogue. But fear not, cliffhanger haters. The main story is clearly resolved and this was just meant as a bit of a teaser of what is to come should you decide to continue with the series. You should feel fulfilled.

Sorry, this just didn't work for me. Not a bad story, in fact, the idea presented here is intriguing but the way the characters were portrayed just didn't seem to carry it off as well as it could have. There's too much that the reader has to believe each of these characters will accept as plausible to make this story work. For example, the whole notion of someone needing to "babysit" Jack due to his activities, the public embarrassment Jack puts Candace through almost immediately upon meeting her, purposely provoking her then and later on in the story, etc., coupled with the complete turn around of events towards the end of the story (avoiding spoilers here) was just a little too much to be believable.

Even the characters' personalities seemed at odds with the story. For example Candace was an intelligent, obviously driven young woman, not only as a lawyer (which requires an enormous amount of effort to achieve) but also voluntarily teaches an adult class on how to negotiate your way through the legal system. On top of that, she's chosen a career path different from her parents' beliefs, choosing corporate law over a public defender role as her father had taken. And yet, she's depicted as somewhat insecure in her position - yes she's young and new in her career but using the term "frozen" far too many times and having a tendency towards tears just didn't help the storyline. Too often it just felt like everyone was manipulating her.

I could cite more examples with other characters but I don't want to give the story away.

And lastly, I just didn't buy the chemistry between Jack and Candace...

So, as I said in the beginning, this one just didn't work for me.

Not usually my genre but I sure couldn't put it down.

Really a nice romance with a little bit of suspense added in. Has a very believable story line. Being a woman and having a career, this was something I could really identify with. Working very hard to get a job and finally a good salary often makes that job very important. Important enough to fight to keep it and Candy or Candace as she asked to be called, felt it was that important. Working night and day to get that college degree and become a lawyer was right at the top of her list. However, being put right in the middle of problems in an organization sometimes makes it difficult to make the right decision. Sometimes the right thing and the ethical thing can become a little mixed up.

There were not too many main characters in this storyline. This seems to give an author a chance to develop them more fully; give them a personality and Harris most certainly gave her characters a personality. This novel did have romantic scenes. I'm calling them scenes because they were written well enough to feel like you were watching them or were a part of them. I'm going to be my honest self here and tell you that sometimes romantic novels make me uncomfortable. I'll describe it as the feeling you get when someone gets in your space. Somehow, this novel did not make me "squirm" or try to get away. I enjoyed reading it. I thought there was a little bit of suspense. Just enough to create that feeling of sitting on the edge of one's seat.

The above all adds up to my really enjoying a genre not familiar to me but one that I had better pay a little more attention to. At least if they are written by Kay Harris. This is Book 1 of a new series called "I Want Morrison". Hope Kay Harris is working on Book 2.

When Candace Gleason gets her dream job, she has no idea just how much trouble she is going to get into. Don't Let Him Go is well written with minimal typos and an interesting story line. One wonders where our world would be today without the contribution made by activists. In general, activists make us uncomfortable as they prod our consciences and make us think seriously about issues that we would rather not address, whether it be human trafficking or saving rhinos. Jack Morrison is one of those selfless people who would rather go to prison to make a point than accept the comfortable lifestyle he was born into. When Candace becomes his designated babysitter, mainly to ensure that he stays out of prison and doesn't embarrass his family, both Jack and Candace experience a spark of attraction, which puts Candace's job in jeopardy. I enjoyed the altruistic nature of the story, but not the manipulation by the Morrison family nor the way in which Jack played Candace. There is also a warning to activists in this story that in order to win the battle, one also has to consider the casualties along the way as many times those closest to one are those most likely to get hurt in the process. I loved this book! Normally I do not enjoy the instant-love stories but this one perfectly suits both the story and its characters.
Candace Gleason is on her way to getting everything she dreamed of. After passing the bar exam she started her dream job with a major real estate corporation. As the newest member of the legal team Candace expects to be the bottom of the totem pole, what she does not expect is to be assigned as babysitter to owner’s activist son. Growing up with activist parents Candance knows how hard it will be keeping the boss’ son out of jail, especially when he is passionately working against his family’s company.
Jack Morrision feels like the black sheep within his family. After walking away from college and the family business, Jack used his trust fund to start a non-profit organization focused on maintaining affordable housing in the older neighbourhoods. Housing and land the large corporations want to buy and build expensive high-rise condos on. Jack is smart, driven and passionate towards helping the people around him, helping those who do not have the money and resources to go up against the large real estate corporations. Jack thrives in front of the camera, taking a stand and bringing a voice to the people, even if his voice lands him in jail.
I loved everything about this story, it’s characters, their relationship and the bond they develop. Candace is a quietly charitable person, she has high morals and wants to help those less fortunate from behind the scenes. Jack allows his emotions to drive him, starting off with a negative impression of his latest lawyer babysitter, he is surprised to see how charitable and selfless Candace truly is.
I look forward to the next book within the ‘I Want Morrision’ series. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good love story, it is a book I plan to read again someday.

This book got better as you moved further into it. It started out slowly, and i had to put it aside.

I liked Jack. Hayden seemed smarmy. I liked Chelsea, their parents, Nancy, and Grace. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until I started writing this review. One thing was Clarice. All of the words were there, but she had no personality. She seemed stiff and stuffy. When she interacted with people throughout the book, I could pick up on their emotions, but I got nothing from her.

Secondly, something would happen with Jack and I would think that things were about to pick up and then everything would fizzle out. Each time I would reach a scene thinking this was going to have a bit of energy, it would end up blah.

Jack and Clarice should have had great chemistry with the opposites attract thing, and the "forbidden" relationship thing going on. But, there was no spark, no sexy, no romance, no nothing. It was just bland.

The description sounded good and engaging, but the book ended up not meeting the expectation. It was not bad, it just was.

I'm still not sure how I feel about these romance books and movies where you've got a smart woman who spends her entire life chasing a dream, accomplishes that dream, then she meets a man and discovers that was never her dream and takes a totally different path in life. Why can't a woman in a cutthroat career continue to do so after she meets a guy? Why can't he be the one that changes careers after he meets her?

This book handled that scenario a little differently, so I rated it a little higher since I ended up enjoying it a little more than other books or movies that choose to go that route. I liked Candace and I liked Jack. The book was left open for a sequel involving another Morrison sibling, but I wish we would have been given a little hint as to why the character showed up on the doorstep in tears instead of leaving it in kind of a cliff hanger. The story with Jack and Candace was resolved at the end, but leaving the ending open like that without an explanation made me feel like I was missing something unless I bought the next book

Excellent romance, with a great theme. The characters are really perfect, manipulative, passionate and in fact, the heroin is finally too innocent for this world of sharks, even if she’s not the best sympathetic girl in the world at the beginning of the book.
Candace lost her job, her love in 5 weeks and she’s completely depressed. 5 weeks ago she was asked to babysit her boss’s son, Jack. He decided to works for poor families, against his father enterprise, with asssociations. Her parents were like him, but she just wants to have her work, her career, her cloths : she definitely not wants to be involve in her parents's or Jack’s battles. But day after day, they reveal to each other who they are and their relation changes.

Candace Gleason, a freshly graduated lawyer, lands her dream job as a corporate lawyer. However, her dream job turns out to be making sure Jack Morrison, her new employers son, stays out of jail. This is no small feat as Jack is an activist who protests against high powered corporations like his family's.

The saying "Opposites Attract" is the basis of this story. Candace and Jack couldn't be any more different. The conflict between them is palpable... but can the attraction they feel overcome their differences?

I enjoyed this first book in the "I Want Morrison" series. It is a stand alone novel and it doesn't end in a cliffhanger. I will be reading the next book in the series.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is a standalone, HEA full length novel. I devoured Kay Harris' "Love on Tour" series so I was excited to read Don't Let Him Go. The book was just good, but not my favorite by this author. The storyline was interesting and there was great character development. The first half is from Candice's POV with the second half from Jack's POV. I would have liked it a little better if it was alternating POV from chapter to chapter. Jack's character had a lot of layers to him and I found that interesting, but I just didn't feel this huge chemistry between them - maybe some with Jack, but not so much so from Candie. The HEA was perfect and the Epilogue makes me want to read the 2nd book in the series. If you haven't read any of Kay Harris' other books, go read the Love on Tour series.

I recieved this ARC for an honest review

This was my first book by this author  but not my last.

Although Jack comes from money,  his focus in life changed after an incident in his life, now he's on a crusade. Having set up a non profit organisation he is constantly butting heads. With the law and big companies even the company his family owns.

Candacen is the newbie a new lawyer at Jack's father's company. She has been tasked with baby sitting jack and keeping him out of trouble something that will need or her skill.

Neither Candace or Jack are ready for the fireworks they produce.

How is Candace, going to be able to keep her job and heart intact.

This is a really good read I like the fact that although, Jack is fighting for what he belives in he manages to  balance his passion for his job and the love of his family and then his love of Candace.

4.5 Stars!

What a fun story! I've wanted to read one of Kay Harris' rom-coms for awhile now and was excited to see the start of a new series. I am truly impressed. The story's premise alone was extremely creative and the multi-culture relationships were a beautiful addition. Another creative aspect was the story-telling format. The story was divided into 4 distinct parts with alternating H/h POV's. What could have been disjointed or stilted was instead a beautifully flowing romance story with no overlap. I highly recommend this skillfully written romance with lovable main characters in conflict-inducing careers that are rife with comic potential. (I voluntarily read an advanced copy of Don't Let Him Go. This review is my honest and unbiased opinion.)

No two people are more different than Candace Gleason and Jack Harrison. She is a high powered Corporate Attorney for a real estate firm. He runs a non profit that fights corporations just like his family happens to own. He is the black sheep of the family. She lives by the book.

There's instant chemistry when they meet but there is no way they could ever make it work...or could they? When Jack is about to chain himself to a bulldozer on the very property his father is set to gentrify, it's up to Candace to keep things calm.

Wonderful love story of two very different people who share the same basic values. Sweet story, sweet romance, not heavy love scenes.

Candace just graduated out of law school and her first task in her first job was to babysit her boss’s son Jack because he is going in and out jail during doing street protests on human rights. In this book, we see what really happens with the ugly issue human trafficking and how media shows whatever it wants to show but in reality, there is much more to that in real life and this story opens your eyes to real life. In my eyes, this book is a very well-written book. .” I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.”

This book was fun to read. I really liked both of the main characters, and the story flowed well as a relationship developed between them. The book was a bit shorter than what I usually read, but it still felt like a complete story. Everything seemed to wrap up nicely by the end of the book while still giving a little hint about the 2nd book in the series. This is a great book to read during a lazy afternoon.

I received this book as a free ARC copy, but my honest review is completely voluntary.

I normally don't read 'this kind of thing', but one gets trapped.. The title fooled me.
It's not bad, quite imaginative, reasonable story..
Of course none of these people have much to do with LAYKI (life-as-you-know-it) but so what? I spose things can happen like that.
But just imagine doing what you want to do, enjoying it, getting an option to give it up, then getting a chance to do something else that you will enjoy, getting a wonderful girl/boy-friend, it all ends up wonderful; "jus' wonnerful'. Etc.
You get what I mean.

I love strong female leads and I loved many things about Candace Gleason. I liked that she had a go-getting mindset, which is rare in romance novels. And at the end *spoiler* she doesn't give up a corporate job *spoiler end* but still has a strong character arc.

Jack Morrison is a very unique character too: sweet, shrewd, headstrong and charming. I wonder how Candace keeps up.

If you like versatile characters and diversity in your story, get yourself a copy.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

Loved it!!

This is a story about a lawyer and an activist. Candace is a lawyer raised by activists and yearns to get a six figure job. She is so excited to get a position with Morrison law firm until she finds out her job is to babysit the owner's son. She is to keep Jack out of jail.
Jack is an activist. He can't help but constantly get in bad "arresting" situations.
This is a wonderful love story. Well written. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Don't Let Him Go (I Want Morrison Book 1) by Kay Harris
This is Candace Gleason and Jack Morrison's story.

This story is about Candace who is a lawyer and she is suppose to keep Jack who is an activist out of trouble.

The story line sounded interesting but I had the hardest time reading this story. It did not keep my interest. The characters were hard for me to relate to. I just couldn't stay interested in the story.
