“Not My Small Diary” is an autobio comics anthology that started in 1996 and is still going strong today. For issue #19 you’ll dive into the worlds of 43 different artists/writers as they share their true stories of unexplained events and encounters. This zine is a perfect bound 5.5x8.5 book, color cover, B/W inside, 1o4 pages, signed by the editor, with original cover by John Porcellino.
Delaine Derry Green's anthologies are always worth picking up. Each one has a general theme. There's a rotating cast of artists with many repeat contributors who have been involved from the beginning. I love that certain cartoonists (like John Porcellino) who have arguably "outgrown" the need to be in anthologies continue to contribute to every issue. There is a variety of styles (and quality, if we're being honest), keeping things interesting. Anthologies are a great way to discover new artists, and NMSD definitely delivers on that front!
