Evangeline's vacation can be summed up in two words: Family Reunion.
Enduring a week at a Texas ranch being compared to her successful sister and beauty queen cousin makes Evangeline want to avoid the whole affair.
But family takes priority and there is no getting out of it.
When she meets handsome Duke McAllister, one of the owners of the ranch, she suddenly has a reason to stay. Is a whirlwind romance enough to redeem a week fraught with feuding family, misunderstandings and a tornado?

Generally, I avoid books that look like they have anything to do with cowboys, but I'm a fan of Sally Johnson's writing so read this one, anyway. I LOVED it! A lot of family dynamics (don't we all know dysfunctional families?) made it even more enjoyable. Great, clean romance that anyone in the family will feel comfortable reading! In fact, I read it last night in one sitting... decided that finishing it was more important than sleeping! 😀

I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

This book was fantastic and so charming. The likeable characters were loveable, while the hateful characters were so unbelievably annoying that I felt the real need to tell someone off! I could not put this book down and finished it the same night I started!!! What a great story!!! I highly recommend this book!!! A very entertaining read!!!

My favorite short read from sally so far. Loved the realness of the plot. Plot was well developed and I loved the family reunion setting. It was just what I needed!

Like the first novella in this series, Sally Johnson created a fun, enjoyable, clean romance. Also, like the first novella, if I have any complaint, it is that she should expand the size of this work to a full novel that carried the story all the way to a HEA ending rather than abruptly ending just as a true courtship begins. I enjoyed the skillful manner in which the author explored the family dynamics. Evangeline, the heroine, was a character of consequence in the first novella in the series where she was a much more “take charge” type person – not the same person revealed in this novella. I recommend this work to all my clean romance reading friends.

This was a cute story of family and how we love to hate them. It was a fun, quick read. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. Things still felt up in the air to me. I felt like the MC's didn't know each other well enough for Evangeline to move across the country to be with Duke (after like 4 days of spotty interaction). The family's apologies seemed surface only. I wasn't satisfied with them. One of my favorite characters was Kyle and he wasn't even in the story much. I just didn't think his and April-Jean's situation was realistic. What guy would put up with her for that amount of time when the situation wasn't as it appeared?! I liked that it was clean and a nice break, but I probably wouldn't read it again.

Romance, clean, contemporary; Series but stand alone read
Loved this story of family set on a ranch with a sweet dash of romance mixed in! Evangeline and Duke's story was chaotic at times, full of crazy family moments, and of course, a bit of romantic moments mixed in. Cute story of family, budding friendship, and a lovely attraction between two hardworking, caring people. Lovely sweet story with two honest hearts, and a ranch setting with family mixed in. More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but I love SJ writing so rounded up.

I like clean romances, but that’s about all I can say about this that is positive. It wasn’t absolutely horrible, but not worth the short time it took to read it, unfortunately.

This book missed the mark for me. I wanted romance & all I got was family drama. A really good Sally Johnson book is Pretty Much Perfect. I highly recommend that book.
