4.4⭐
Terrific value for fans of C.S. Forester, as it contains: all 12 of the Horatio Hornblower novels and all of the Hornblower short stories; seven other novels, including The African Queen, The Good Shepard, The Ship; a selection of WW2 short stories from the Gold From Crete anthology and the non-fiction book Hunting The Bismarck, all for about $1 US, on Amazon. As with many digital works these days, there's the odd typo or other glitch but nothing that really detracts from the enjoyment of the stories, except for the terminally anal. The notes on the books and on Forester himself are concise and informative. There's a handy timeline of the Hornblower stories, which were not originally published in chronological sequence. Illustrations include original cover art of the books and photos of Forester and of locations that were important in his life. Highly recommended.
