I thoroughly enjoyed this read. There is plenty going on that holds your attention throughout this wonderful storyline of "A Summer of Secrets ", by Lorna Peel. We learn the shocking truth early in our reading, most characters are unaware of the truth, so the enjoyment is not lost to the readers at all, if anything, it's for the better. All characters are well developed in this very entertaining read. A highly recommended read. Frances.
I enjoyed the book throughly between the twists and turns and unexpected drama. There is adult content so I would recommend this book only to adults. Characters were well developed and strong. 8/10
i finished it, and it started off well enough, but i found it difficult to follow at times. the action jumps from moment to moment without indication as someone noted previously, and sometimes the writing made me roll my eyes. that being said, i wanted to keep reading it.
Plot was good enough but characters lack development and depth. The action is most of the time rushed from one context to another without any indication.
Enjoyed this romance and piece of Modern British culture and society. It piqued my interest in “British Piles” and how they are maintaining them preserving UK’s history and artifacts.
Thomas Heaton spends his time locked in his office working to keep the estate that has been in his family for 500 years. Sophia Nelson is hired to live on the estate and be a tour guide. On her first day on the job, Sophia overhears a secret that has far reaching effects for the Heatons. Numerous twists and turns finally culminate in the marriage of these two. This is no Downton Abbey and very easy to predict. It was an okay read but didn’t really draw me in.
