Just completed the 50th title of “In death series.” Yes, you read it correct. 50th title with the same characters set in New York of 2050’s. 📖 I started reading this series in my teens and now I am hooked on it. Now, they are crime thrillers featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her billionaire husband Roarke. Hands down they are my favorite literary couple after Kaz and Inej. 📖 Now, I do understand 50 books are a huge commitment when you have so many other reads, that too a set of crime thrillers, but believe me, when I say that once you start reading it, you won’t stop. Every book is unique, and most of them are so outrageously good, that you are flabbergasted at the end. And obviously out of so many titles, some are bound to be average. But the characters and their banter more than make up for the lack of other things. 📖 Let me make it easy for you by listing down who should read the books: 🌸 If you have proclivity for thrillers/crime novels- Needless to say, every book is a crime thriller, and they are really good. . 🌸If you have time- It will take a huge commitment on your part to read so many books. Though every book can be read separately, I would definitely recommend you to start with the first one- “Naked in death”. . 🌸If you are a sucker for a kick ass lead female cop- She is my role model in every way possible. After being abused for eight years by her father, she vows to get out of her misery and stand strong alone as a cop, calling out to my feminist soul. . 🌸If you love old school romance as a side plot- How I love the story of Roarke and Eve. From suspecting Roarke in her first case to open her rigid heart to him, makes me swoon every damn time. They are the perfect definition of imperfect couple that complements each other in every way possible. 🌸 If you love a story where every character has their own path, own growth – To make realistic story lines for main characters for 50 books is not an easy task. But J.D. Robb does it for all the side characters, in the most convincing way.
I am now up to No 50 in this series of books by J.D. Robb & love them all & the developing relationships between the characters! I was given the first book to read by a friend & took it rather reluctantly as it was set in the future & that didn’t appeal to me. I imagined it would be futuristic & unbelievable. But, how wrong I was! Some have been better than others but all very worthwhile & getting to know each of the characters & their different roles in the NYPSD has made them almost part of my life. And .. many very late nights and early mornings!! Can’t wait to read the next in the series! Highly recommend!
