A SERIES THAT ONCE YOU START YOU'LL FIND YOU CAN'T STOP

S.A. Ison writes her characters in a realistic way that makes it easy to relate to them. They are everyday people with everyday problems. The way in which she writes draws into the book feeling the joy and sorrow, the love and hate, the loss and gain of friends and family, and the desire to seek justice for when her villains have harmed the innocent or their love ones. She fills the pages with helpful information regarding available and eatable foods in nature and paints a vivid picture of the local environment leaving you feeling that you are right there.
The characters are well thought out and will draw you into the storyline routing for the good guys and cheering when the bad guys meet the demise. This book and the previous book in this series are very enjoyable and you will find yourself being captivated by each page throughout to see who will survive the challenges they face and how.
If you haven't had the chance to read any of S.A. Ison's books, this is a great series to start with. These two books take place after a vindictive man creates a virus to get back at his boss for wanting to fire him due to his lack of work ethics and a man who starts off trying to design a computer virus to impress a girl but he ends up going one step further and creating a computer virus to take down all the computers and anything connected to the internet. Both viruses send the world into total chaos sending those who were not killed by the biological virus into a new world without medical facilities, law and order, no food deliveries to your local stores, and no working gas stations.
The main characters do everything they can to protect their family, friends, and neighbors but with all the evil that arises out of the shadows when there is no law to answer to. When the lowlifes of society comes crawling out into the open taking and killing what and who they want, the characters deliver justice with a vengeance.
At times you'll find yourself cheering for the good guys when they take out the bad. You'll find yourself sad at the loss of lives and at other times you'll enjoy the humor that they can still revel in during times in that are unimaginable to live in.
I have really enjoyed reading this second book in this two-book series and hope you will find yourself enjoying reading it too.
Quotes:
"Apparently the government stopped by his place. Asked what he had in the way of supplies. Kenny told them he had a couple empty coffins and a backhoe at the ready."
I had fun reading this. I enjoy most things this author writes but be prepared that it is unrealistic in the fact that the good guys always win. Characters are interesting.
I really thought the characters were well developed and likable. I also liked the way the writer switched the localities and situations. All and all, a very good series and I highly recommend them.
One of the best series of World wide disaster books I have read. Writer was able to keep multiple situations unique with common disasters. As in both books some errors in composition, I'm guessing it's because of a computer checking /proof reading, because the writing in general is excellent.
Loved this short series and the way separate tales were interwoven. It’s actually a gentle post-apoc story that reminds you that you don’t need to be super prepper with all the latest gadgets in order to survive.
I have to echo what other reviewers have stated about this book, the second in the series. The characters are fleshed out to the point where you really do care what happens to them. If there were another book in the series, I'd gladly read it.
These 2 books together are a cautionary tale. Both were hard to put down. I read them both in 2 days. Makes you think "where is our society going?". Is this how it will end?
By the end of this series I appreciated the way the author wove the stories together. Hated seeing SOME characters go and really enjoyed the hope going forward.
While I still have some issues from the premise of the disaster, this wraps up the groups of main characters and their stories. There was a lot of mundane (but some interesting) activities related to surviving and then some major action in trying to repel bad guys. I did like how the four main groups thrived by cooperating with others in their area.
Better edited than the first. Great Mainer dialogue. Read!
Edit — He followed the sound, and found Chum in a back room, trying to grab getting a shotgun and a bag full of food by flashlight. Looked like the man was bugging out.
The author should have known that only really old cars and trucks would work after a computer virus because they started putting electronic engine controls ,computers, in cars and trucks in the early eighties. Also it is .38 caliber not .38 mm.
