Joris Bryon is the co-founder of dexter.agency, a remote team of conversion optimization specialists. The agency serves high-revenue e-commerce stores that are ready for continuous growth. With nearly 1000 A/B tests under his belt, Bryon wrote Kill Your Conversion Killers to help all the online stores he hasn’t worked with (yet). Along with keeping his hands in day-to-day client projects, he regularly lectures on optimization at the University College Ghent in Belgium. His ultimate goal is to spend more time traveling, learning and teaching. Bryon and his wife live in Valencia, Spain.
Great read. Full of practical examples and straight to the point. Very hands-on. It feels a bit like a complete manual or blueprint on how to optimize the conversion rate of an online shop.
It’s common now for CRO agencies to write books talking about their “unique” approach to CRO, but if you read enough of these books you realise it’s just everyone’s unique jargon for the same approach.
With that in mind you won’t find too many new things in here if you’ve read Making Websites Win or Peep Laja’s Intro to CRO but it had enough unique nuggets for me that it made the read worth it.
I particularly found the additional pieces on prioritisation and AB Testing program management software useful (it’s something not covered in many other CRO books). Joris’ prioritisation matrix is the most expansive I’ve come across which was great to find and compare notes on.
The writing itself is very blog-like and casual, easy to understand and straightforward but not as tight and polished an editing job as I like.
Highly recommend book for learning conversion rate optimization
I stumble over marketing campaign and time after time that are loosing tons of money by not following the right methodology for A/B tests. This is a gold mine and will give you the tools set for optimizing growth.
Muy accionable, con tips específicos que te harán optimizar tu sitio a medida que lo lees. Es de esos libros que puedes consultar varias veces después de leerlo para seguir aplicando cosas.
This is a highly recommended book for learning conversion optimisation. The author gives tons of practical tips without making it too boring and theoretical.
I expect this book will become a main staple on my shelf that I return back to often. As a Product Manager, I've been designing and running A/B tests on conversion funnels for ages, but after reading this book, got a revitalizing dose of clarity and energy around the iteration process. The author's approach is pragmatic, direct, detailed and devoid of the usual repetitive fluff you get in many business books. His focus on research – but more importantly how to do research RIGHT – is so damn spot on.
While the book's technically a short read, it took me longer to finish it than I expected only because I took meticulous notes and recapped actionable takeaways from every chapter. Joris Bryon, you're clearly a pro and I'm grateful for the extent to which you detailed your experience – consider me a new fan!
Finally! An excellent guide to Conversion Rate Optimisation, written in a clear and concise manner by one of the industry's leading experts. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish, Joris is clearly a no BS kind of guy and a refreshing change from most people who start every sentence with, "It depends...". It depends might be the correct answer but sometimes it's nice to be led by an expert with an opinion when it comes to implementing a testing strategy and methodology. Pragmatic and practical. Loved it, it's going up on my shelft alongside "making Websites win"
