Jock Hard #2

Jock Rule

Rate this book
Kip Carmichael is no pretty boy.

He's a rough. Dirty. Giant. Hair so unruly, and a beard so thick, his friends on the team call him Sasquatch.

The first time Sasquatch lays eyes on Theodora "Teddy" Johnson across the keg at a party one night on Jock Row, she'd been relegated to the sidelines by her jock hungry "friends."

Week-after-week, he watches beautiful but bashful Teddy getting overshadowed, and overlooked. Sasquatch finally broad shoulders his way through the crowd, offering to to be her hairy godmother. But the minute their eyes meet? He's a goner.

Teaching her the RULES for winning a jock will be the easy part. Not falling in love with her is going to be a losing game.

I am a huge fan of college sports romances. I’m not sure why I love them so much, I’ve never been into sports, I just do. Sara Ney does an amazing job writing them! I love her writing and her characters. Jock Rule is the second book in her ‘Jock Hard’ series (but it can be read as a complete stand-alone) and I loved it just as much as the first!
“You need a…” I search for the word. Snap my fingers in the silence. “Hairy godmother.”
“A what?”
I’m a fucking genius is what I am. “Hairy godmother. Like a fairy godmother, but a guy.”

Teddy and Kip meet at a Rugby party on Jock Row. These two couldn’t be more different if they tried, but after spending a few Fridays together, they become friends. Teddy is awkward with guys, on a scholarship, and a sweet girl. Kip is a little rough around the edges, a bearded and rugged Rugby player who is super wealthy, but doesn’t let many people know it. In fact, it keeps him from letting others get close to him.

When Kip sees Teddy week after week, he can tell she needs some guidance and he offers to help. The very last thing Kip expects to happen is to fall for this girl, but low and behold, that’s exactly how things go. I freaking loved Kip. He is my favorite kind of hero. I loved how brash he could be, but deep down, he is a really sweet guy. And I loved him with Teddy. I was glad that with time, she found her voice and her strength. They were a great couple. And so funny together!

Honestly, this was on it’s way to being a 5 star read for me, but I’m not sure how much I loved how Teddy reacted to Kip’s change and also, I wanted more of this couple as a couple! I wish there would have been more time with them or more of an epilogue. Still, it was a fantastic read. I loved both of the characters and their story was sweet and fun!

If you’re looking for a sports romance that will give you lots of laughs, has a bit of emotional, and will just give you all the feel good feelings, pick up Jock Rule. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! I have no clue what or who it will be about, but already I’m dying for it!

OMG there is no way for me to truly acknowledge how much I loved Kip. I'm pretty sure he is going to be everyone's latest favorite hero.

There is just something about a bearded, blunt, straight forward, grouchy rugby player, that uses his beard to repel girls. I was laughing my ass off reading his thought process that being a big hairy jock would be the last thing girls liked. Haha.... He truly had an eye opening experience coming his way.

The book really started picking up for me around the 40% mark. At that point I was hooked, and couldn't put it down anymore even if I'd tried. The slow burn at the beginning gave Kip and Teddy a great chance to become true friends after they finally stopped annoying each other. It also was enough time for them to get to know one another without just basing their relationship on sexual attraction. Because there was definitely a sexual spark there,  but it mostly simmered until it ignited. But ignite it did!!!

That sofa scene had me all squirming and lusting after Kip! All I can say is - WOWZER!!! It was sizzling and panty melting HOT!!!! Talk to me after you read it - lol!!

It's no surprise anymore that I love this author's signature wit.

Dialogues by her make me crack up, laugh out loud and smile silly. Her heroines are always strong, witty and smartasses. And her heroes grouchy, grumpy alphas that fall hard for the right girl. I also love that the couples always have a chance to really get to know each other. In the end it feels right. Their connection runs deep and true. Same with Kip and Teddy.

If you love NA sports romances this book is a MUST READ!!! It has EVERYTHING I love about this trope. And as usual the author delivered 100%. If you love Sara Ney's heroes, you'll ADORE Kip. He is the bearded dream guy you didn't know you had. :D

I love this series. LoVe lOvE LOVE it!!!!

This was a book that made me smile, made me laugh, I totally swooned at it, and it left me loving yet another couple. Kip & Teddy started out both on the outside of social groups, neither one wanting attention, neither looking for love. Kip and Teddy come from completely different lifestyles, raised differently, yet they find themselves pulled to each other in every way. So how do they handle this friends with kinda benefit relationship? Can Kip give Teddy good dating advice if no one in his eyes is good enough for his new friend? Attractions grow, feelings grow, so who will be the first to break? And what will happen to their friendship? I enjoyed this one throughly, I just felt I didn’t get enough at the end. The lover of romance in me needs more because I adore these two❤️

{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

JOCK RULE starts off almost exactly the same as JOCK HARD did. At first, I was a little annoyed. The only difference was that the Hero was a rugby player instead of a baseball player, and it seemed to take entirely too long for things to spark between the couple but once it did, the story started to get interesting.

Kip Carmichael is huge and extremely hairy. His hair is usually up in a messy bun with different colored scrunchies and his beard is long and out of control. But underneath the forest of hair is one seriously fine specimen of a man. He comes from a very wealthy family and got tired of girls pursuing him because of his bank account. So becoming a living breathing Sasquatch is his way of scaring all the women away.

Kip sees a cute but somewhat awkward girl at the Rugby team's house party three Fridays in a row and decides to take pity on her by offering his services as her ”hairy godmother”. He thinks she could use some tips on how to attract the opposite sex. They fall into an easy friendship. Their easy-going banter is silly and hilarious. Kip is just a gigantic softie. At times he seems almost as innocent and naïve as Teddy. I loved their chemistry.

Things between Kip and Teddy start off innocent and their interactions are hilarious but there is incredible chemistry between them and the steamy scenes are off the charts HOT! Overall, I thought this story was a pretty fun, sweet and sexy good time!

This is my last arc for 2018! Not a bad way to end the year with regards to blog reviews!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4.5

Book two of the “Jock Hard” series was a fun, light, and amusing read! I enjoyed Kip and Teddy so much... and even though their budding romance began mainly with friendship first, it didn’t stop me from rooting for them. For the majority of the story they are friends; but their interaction was so cute and fun, it was impossible not to smile while I was reading it! I needed a read like this after the psychological thriller I had read before this one!!!

If you’re looking for a relationship that is very in depth and sexual, you won’t find that with Kip and Teddy... but if you enjoy rooting for two outcasts, who at first just want someone to spend time with... then check this out! Another bonus is Kip’s texts to his sister!!! They are hilarious! That was a perfect addition to an already feel good read!

Thanks Steph for another wonderful Buddy Read!❤️

Overall Opinion: Meh. I'm a sucker for college athlete romances, so I thought this might be a winner for me -- sadly, it just fell a little flat. I was a little annoyed with how much focus was put on his hair. I get it -- he's supposed to be a hairy dude, but it just felt too OTT. I also never really felt that we got into the characterizations all that much, and it seemed to feel surface level because of it. I'll just briefly mention the ending not feeling like enough, because I realize it's a me thing with this genre that I probably need to get over. It's a light, low drama, sometimes cute story that I'm sure many will like but I probably will not remember all that much about it in the long run 🤷🏻‍♀️

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Teddy and Kip's story. Kip notices Teddy when she is at the rugby house's parties a few weekends in a row. He witnesses her being mistreated by her friends so much that he has to confront her about it. Teddy isn't sure about the opiniated, hairy brute that takes an interest in her well being. They form an odd friendship that starts as Kip giving Teddy pointers on how to snag an athlete that turns into them developing stronger feelings for one another. There are some funny moments and a few sexy times...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Teddy and Kip's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove:No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings. They don't share "ILYs" until the very end.

H rating: 3.5 stars. Kip. I liked him more than the h, but that's just because I felt like we got a little bit more in depth in regards to his character

h rating: 3 stars. Teddy. She was alright. Again, I think we could've gotten deeper with her character.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Not really

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and a few scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: No

Possible Triggers: Not really

Closure: This had alright closure with them finally sharing their "I love yous", but I would call it a HFN ending. I know that with NA this happens often, but I wanted to see them in the future with a more concrete commitment.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

Hairy Godmother!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 🧐🤨🙄🤤😘

The Hero: Kip (a.k.a. Sasquatch) - a 6’4”, well built rugby player from a wealthy background. He wants to focus on school and rugby so he hides behind long hair and a beard. He is unapproachable and doesn’t want any entanglements.

The heroine: Teddy - She is a doormat for her friends. She comes from a single parent household where her mom had to work two jobs to get by. Teddy wants nothing more than to be stable and not have worry about money.

The Story: Teddy goes to a party on Jock Row with her roommate and friends, she ends up going to get them beers since her friends use her any chance they get. While waiting around the keg, Kip sees her from his position against the wall and the next weekend at another rugby party he sees her again, doing the same thing. He feels the need to talk to her.

When a fight breaks out, Kip helps Teddy out of the party and when she finds that her “Friend” is bringing a guy home to their shared one bedroom apartment. Kip offers to let her stay at his place and they get to talking. He tells her that she will never get a boyfriend the way she has been at parties and offers to be her “Hairy Godmother” and give her tips to get a guy.

This book is told in dual points of view and is narrated by Chelsea Hatfield and Jacob Morgan. This was dual narration where Jacob did the chapters in the male POV and Chelsea did the chapters in the female POV. I like these two narrators and really enjoy Sara Ney’s sports romance books. This was a terrific one. I loved that Kip is trying to keep his wealth on the DL and that Teddy is a shy girl finding her voice.

This had everything I love about the new adult sports romance. A hot guy with lots of muscles (even though his hotness was hidden by a lot of hair), college parties, snarky girls, and both main characters with backstories that get in the way. I also love that they become friends before anything happens between them. I really enjoyed the friendship and the romance between these two.

You need a…” I search for the word. Snap my fingers in the silence. “Hairy godmother.”
“A what?”
I’m a fucking genius is what I am. “Hairy godmother. Like a fairy godmother, but a guy.”

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I love Sara Ney's words. The woman can write a fun, quirky, well developed and character driven New Adult romance like no other! I thought I loved Jock Row, but after reading this book, I realize I must have been only in like with it, because I fell head over ovaries for Kip and Teddy!
Stereotype much?”
“Yes. Don’t you?”
I scoff. “Pfft, no.”
“Liar—you stereotyped me.”
“Well…how could I not? Look at you—you look like Bigfoot’s cousin.”
“Bigfoot isn’t a real person, Theodora.”
“But if he was—”
“He’s not.”

Teddy could have easily been the stereotypical good-girl. She's studious, quiet, keeps to herself, and allows her friends to walk all over her because she choses to look at their good sides. Yet Teddy was also so much more. She's sweet and charming with a dash of endearing shyness but with a backbone and sass to boot! She's sharp-witted and has a wicked sense of humor. I absolutely loved her!

And then there's Kip. Sweet, hairy Kip. Coming from a ridiculously wealthy family, Kip is no stranger for women wanting him for all the wrong reasons. He transferred from Duke to Iowa to escape his family's name and he hides his handsomeness behind an overgrown beard and generally grumpy disposition. Week after week he observes sweet unassuming Teddy get steamrolled by her so called friends, until he's decided he's had enough and decides to take her under his massive wing.

What begins is quite possibly one of the best slow burn friends to lovers romances I've read in a long while. There's just enough sizzle of chemistry to keep you turning the pages with the promise of more and I absolutely loved that the author stayed true to the characters and didn't rush things between them. The build up was quite possibly the best part of the book. Their unlikely and quirky friendship was full of laugh out loud moments and zingers and I seriously couldn't get enough. I loved watching the two of them fall harder and harder without even realizing it was happening.

This book was just so stinkin' cute! It was absolute perfection and an absolute must read for any NA romance lovers! I guarantee you'll be a Sasquatch lover by the end and never want to go back!

Kip, aka Sasquatch, is the big burly Rugby player that goes out of his way to avoid people. Teddy is the nice girl will do anything she can to help someone else while ignoring her own needs. When Kip see's her at a party being walked all over by her so-called friends, he takes the initiative and decides that Teddy needs his help on how to handle people.

These two were an amazing couple. Kip was this no nonsense type of guy that gave it to Teddy straight and I loved getting to see him toughing her up. Teddy, despite her people-pleaser flaws, wasn't some shy heroine she was just a little too nice. With Kip though she never held back her wittiness and that was something I adored seeing between these two.

Overall, this is a book I would recommend to anyone that's a fan of the NA genre. It can also be read as a standalone so you don't have to read the previous book before starting this one.

This Jock left me completely satisfied

I don't know why, but my tolerance for New Adult - College is completely different to New Adult - Contemporary. I LOVE New Adult - College. I think it helps that Sara Ney's characters generally are at College to work hard, get their degree, and prepare for the next stage in their lives. Sure, there's drunken shenanigans and immaturity that leads to mistakes but it's not the focus of the story. Most of her characters are thoughtful, hard-working and determined to succeed. I absolutely loved Jock Rule from beginning to end.

I'm married to a bearded man so I loved that Kip, the main character was bearded too. His character was refreshingly different. At first, he comes across as an absolute jerk, but as time goes on and we get to know him better, you come to understand why he's become that way. When he sees Teddy standing alone at a Jock Party, he's intrigued and goes out of his way to find out more.

Teddy is a bit of a pushover and is forever being taken advantage of by her supposed best friend. It's something Teddy has always tolerated but when she's called out on it by a mammoth bearded jerk, it embarrasses her. The stranger decides that she needs a "hairy godmother" to guide her through the challenges of gaining a backbone. Shy and timid Teddy is not at all keen, but Kip - the hairy godmother, is determined and gives her Rules to follow.

I loved that Kip is very different from most rich kids and if anything, just wants to be normal. He hides his pretty face behind his beard because he wants to be appreciated for himself not his looks or bank balance. I had a huge smile on my face when I realised that Kip's sport was Rugby. Both my boys play rugby and it cracked me up when it was described as such a vicious and bloody sport. I had a bit of a chuckle when the author talks about the players wearing cups to protect their bits and pieces, and had to share it with my boys. My boys gave me a smirk but were very quizzical too, on how you can play rugby with a cup in. You don't wear cups in Australia.

This story, while fairly short, packed a lot into it. We see Kip learn to drop his barriers and let Teddy see the real him. As the story progressed, Teddy comes to realise that she doesn't deserve to be ignored, disregarded or used as she has been up until now. Her strength grows with her confidence and she even comes to realise that she can't always judge a book by its cover.

I loved that both Teddy and Kip start their relationship based on friendship and scoffed at the idea of them being together. When the time came for things to change, you knew that their attraction is not based solely on lust which was refreshing.

Jock Rule was thoroughly entertaining and left me with a big goofy smile at the end. It was very sexy without being overly sexual. By that, I mean that the characters don't get to the nitty gritty from the start. It was slow moving with intimate touches that showed their connection forming. No slam bam in this one and I loved it more for it.

I loved all of the characters I met, enjoyed the storyline and believed that Kip and Teddy had something special that would last. I definitely recommend Jock Rule and I can't wait to read more of Sara Ney's stories in the future.

I absolutely adore this series <3

Slow burn, character-driven, and sweet without being sickly.

College Rugby player, Kip, is a rich kid who is hiding his good looks and family wealth beneath a huge beard and outwardly grumpy attitude. I admit I didn't like him in the first chapter because he seemed like a complete pig, but thankfully he wasn't, not in the slightest!

Teddy, our heroine, came from the complete opposite background. A hard worker, a generous friend, she was in need of a huge boost in her life to help her with confidence and find her place within her group of peers.

I've been struggling to find a book lately that I want to read from start to finish, so the fact that I read this within 24 hours is a testament to how the story drew me in and kept me there.

Sara Ney fans, you are in for a treat!

Reread for kicks on 12/10/19. Review still basically stands.

Well. Not going to lie. This was so much fun. The NA fairies are sprinkling their magic dust all over my NA appetite right now. I smiled for a lot of this book.

There usually seems to be a maligned friendship which I do not love. Maligned "cleat chasers" too.

The conflict was really... interesting. Not sure it's the way I'd have gone, but hey. And it didn't last long.

The dialogue really makes me laugh at times. In the end this was the perfect, refreshing kind of diversion. 3.5

First rule: we are a team, Teddy, and there is no I in team. Write that down.

Ok. I don’t know what to say about this other than Teddy is a nice girl who has crappy friends. She goes to a party, gets ditched and then meets wall stalker Kip. Who doesn’t like her very much. Nope. He’s down right rude to her. Anyway Teddy starts to hang out with this moody people avoiding grizzly bear like fellow named Kip. Who helps her grow a backbone, and some other things grow between them. Like feelings.

So basically this is a cute college romance. With cute banter. Sexual tension. Sweet romance. & some steamy naughty bit payoffs.

If you like beards and moody heroes with a sweet layer hidden deep, who build up their heroines when they need them, then this is the story for you.

I like this book. I really do. The chemistry between Kip and Teddy is off the chart. Plus the author throws us sexy, cute, sweet, heart swooning banter. I can not help myself laugh listening to the audio book. I wsh this book can be longer and have some plot/twist on it.

The thing that makes me cringe is how Teddy blurt out her intimate night with Kip to strangers. Just because this strangers are nice people. I mean how can you decide the strangers nice in 5 minutes? Maybe the author try to squeeze everything in short period of time. And also the insta lust between Kip and Teddy is just way too instant.

This book is for new adult audience. The author hits the spot with all of that college banter. All of the slang etc.

DNF @ 55%

This isn't the best of starts into the New Year. A DNF, that is.

So far I've enjoyed Sary Ney's books. They often differ from the usual high-drama NA shebang that comes with the sub genre, in the sense that she doesn't always create perfect characters, sometimes downright unlikable in a non-typical-arsehole way. Additionally, her writing is relatable and funny. My favourite remains the highly 'Oh no, this pushes all the wrong buttons'-The Studying Hours. Funny, in its own way original and inappropriate, with a downright unrepentantly rude and conceited hero.

Jock Rule starts promisingly with a heroine, Teddy (Theodora), who is constantly being walked over by her supposedly best friend, Mariah. To be honest, I'm not going to go too much into the trouble of describing Kip, nor the plot.

But I found two aspects jarring.
(1) I guess the experience of a toxic, one-sided friendship is something many can relate to. Teddy's friendship with Mariah, her best friend since childhood, is one, in which Mariah shows a blatant disregard for her so-called best friend. I've certainly had one such friendship in my twens. and it's certainly not easy to confront oneself with the truth. The endless patience Teddy's been showing - mind you, I'm at 55% and I'm guessing by the end of the book, she may come to the realisation that Mariah is no good for her. Thanks to, I presume, Kip of course, who comes to show Teddy the way of the world of college partying/flirting, being a cool girl.

Yes, we all love a heroine who comes into her own. But in Jock Rule, I have the suspicion that without Kip, Teddy would be a hopeless case of a push-over person for the rest of her life. But, oh my, Kip to the rescue! Yay! What would we girls be doing without the guidance of a guy on how to be more self-confident?

(2) And the reason why I've had enough: I'm not generally opposed to virgin heroes and heroines if it's believably woven into the story. But a heroine who - at 21 - has never masturbated? In 2019? Well, I suppose 2018 as the book was released in 2018. I would have probably refrained from rating it, had it not been for the masturbation part. Had Teddy been given a background, religious e.g., I may have understood. But like this?

[insert eye-rolling gif here]

Look, it's not a bad book. Teddy and Kip's dynamics are fine. But no, those are aspects that I can't and won't tolerate.

And maybe a third point, which I can't be sure of, but at 55% I haven't had any evidence of it yet, is - again - the absence of secondary characters that I criticised already in Jock Row. Again, everything is happening almost exclusively between Teddy and Kip, and it's not enough for me. The result is that I'm being told, not shown what their lives are like, how they interact with others, and ultimately how their development mirrors in everyday life.

Oh well, I'll shelve it as Sary-Ney-dud. It happens.

This is technically the second book in Jock hard series by Sara Ney, but they can be easily read as standalones, cause they have very little in common… the first novel in it is one of my favourites I read this year… maybe even the most favourite ;) this one was not as good as the first one, but I still liked it plenty and in the end gave it 4,5 stars :) once again, there was no stupid drama and / or misunderstanding, and I am always a fan of that kind of situations… :) especially if the drama is really stupid and could have been solved with one honest conversation :) so I was very pleased with the fact that once again it was not the case of this story :) now I am even more excited to get to the third book in this series, cause I am assuming that the no-drama rule will apply to it as well ;) I think the only reason why I couldn’t give this one full five stars was that I thought it was too short… I could have used a few more chapters to establish and build up a better relationship between Kip and Teddy :) things seemed a bit rushed… but that’s basically it… I highly recommend you the audiobooks in this series, because once again, cause I also listened to the first novel as well, the narrators were really good :) they are available in the Audible Escape subscription if you have it ;) but whatever way you choose to read them, I hope you will give not only this particular book but the whole series a try ;)

This was soooooo close to a 3 star review. Solid book, solid characters (albeit a little one dimensional and caricature-esque) but then you lost me.

Why you ask?

When the heroine is too much of a square to say penis and calls it "his thing"..... And she "doesnt know how to masturbate".............. and she had no idea that a woman could orgasm more than once.

BRUHHHHH. This woman is 19 years old and goes to a public university. Can we at least TRY to write heroines that are not complete imbeciles?! Please and thanks xxxxx

Super cute and fun read, well listen. Sara Ney knows how to do funny banter that cracks me up! Kip and Teddy’s sweet romance was entertaining.

Here’s what I enjoyed:

Kip’s attitude and the way he engages with Theodora cracked me up. He’s such a grump and has no filter at all. The way he speaks to her leading up to becoming her “hairy godmother” had me cracking up. He’s to sweet in the end to classify as a douchebag type character, but he definitely had his moments.

Teddy’s character was my catnip. She’s sweet and naive. A typical good girl. Her progression over the course of the novel was the best of all. She grows more confident and stronger. I really enjoyed that.

The humor was spot on.
The banter was great.
This was low angst and super sweet. A great book to read if you’re coming off another emotional read.

The narration was top notch. I truly love Sara Ney’s audiobooks. She always enlists great narrators who truly embody the characters and brings the story to life.

I had a great time reading this one and even though I was never bored, this is most definitely a surface level book and I found myself not connecting to either of the main characters because of that fact.

Overall, Jock Rule is an enjoyable read but definitely not my favorite by this author.

This was an adorable and fun book. I actually wish it were a bit longer because I loved both Teddy and Kip.. Hairy Godmother --- hilarious!

Kip was endearing. He came from a very affluent family and had different instances where people, woman especially would try to use his clout and money to better them. He got tired of it and decided to turn the tables on the fairer sex. He grew his beard and hair extra long to make himself become unattractive. It worked for quite a while. At college he was a rugby player, but he didn't have any cleat chasers after him and like it that way.

One night at a party he notices a lone girl who seems out of place. He watches her and is a bit enthralled by her. Following weekend he notices her again. And again... Then he can't take anymore and has to approach her to tell her what he thinks of her and what she's been doing at said parties. She finds it offensive and he finds it humorous.

After their first interaction she plans to go home and sulk, but her roommate kinda makes that impossible. So being the caring and hairy hunk of man meat that Kip is offers to bring this stray girl home to his place. He is sure it will be a one time deal. She will sleep in the spare room and she will skedaddle on home first thing in the morning.

Didn't quite go as planned. Teddy grows on Kip. Slowly, but surely. He is awakened to lust and womanly beauty once again. In the form of this sweet, selfless and bashful at times woman. The relationship blossoms and turns into to something so so sweet. She makes him remember what he has been missing out on this entire time.

They were perfect for each other!! So glad I decided to jump back into this jock world again.

Oh I absolutely loved this one! I'm definitely a fan of Sara Ney's books, her storytelling is fantastic. And she always seems to find the perfect balance between romance, sweetness and sexiness. This is no exception.

Jock Rule was a super sweet friends to lovers story. I loved both Teddy and Kip, especially Kip. He was sweet, funny and so caring. Their friendship and then romance was freaking everything. I can't even. I completely devoured the story, as soon as I started I was completely hooked.

I also have to say that the audiobook is freaking fantastic (you can never go wrong with Z Webber!). Can't wait to see what story Sara comes up with next. This one is definitely a favorite read for me this year and I absolutely recommend!

★4 STARS★

Kip Carmichael cuts a purposefully intimidating figure. He’s a broody, bearded mountain of a man who emits “fu** off” vibes to anyone within striking distance. He tolerates his rugby teammates and has a very serve allergy to jock chasers, but yet he still finds himself holding up the wall on the Friday night parties down on Jock Row.

Frankly he thinks the parties are lame and predictable, but of late he’s found himself entertained by the hapless yet intriguing girl whose woeful, yet comical attempts to fit in are overshadowed by her so called friends.

For reasons unknown to him at the time, he appoints himself as her “Hairy godmother” It’s a position Teddy wasn’t aware she needed, but she’s far too distracted by him to be offended. For someone so shy she’s amazed by comfortable she is in his company. He’s supposed to be helping her attract the guy of her dreams, but after all the time she spends with him, she starts to realise the guy of her dreams is him.

Sara Ney is an author that is synonymous when thinking of addictively-hilarious, heartfelt new adult reads. Like her Douchebags, her Jocks have achieved auto buy status and I can’t wait to see what’s next in line on Jock Row.
