I loved the first book, but this one didn't seem to be made with quite that same level of care. Some of the photographs weren't great, some recipe intros were pretty broad/vague (and in one recipe intro Lorelai's name was misspelled), and some recipes didn't have as close a connection to the show as the recipes in the first book. But I am happy to have more recipes regardless. I came across this book while searching for a raspberry peach jam recipe because I wanted some after it was mentioned in an episode, so I'm glad I can live the jam dream at last.

I was excited to receive this book thinking it would have recipes just as good as the first book. To be honest this book just seemed like they were reaching for recipes related to the show. There’s a whole section on Mexican and Chinese food with recipes you could find anywhere. Homemade pop tarts sound like a good idea but would the Gilmore Girls make them? No, they would go out and buy them unless Sookie made them. I really did feel like the first book was success and they wanted to cash in on it again. Personally I think it’s a fail.

Really unsure why this book has such negative reviews from some people. I did notice a HUGE mistake in the book (one step in a recipe is from a completely different recipe...) and some of the pictures are perhaps a little less creative with their props and things than the first. However, some of the recipes are also just a bit more vaguely attached to the show, so I get that. I still enjoyed it a lot! I almost considered just not bothering with this one after reading the reviews here, but I’m glad I read it anyways. A fun companion to the first and a really fun book to own for diehard Gilmore Girls fans.

Just because you have an idea doesn’t mean you should do it. If you do do it, make sure you execute the crap out of it. The food in the pictures looked gross, dude get a better food stylist. The recipe choices did not make any sense to me. The set up of the recipes is awful just awful. Such a waste of my time.

I am a bit baffled by the negative reviews...I do write negative reviews from time to time, but in picking up a book it is never my purpose to nitpick. This is just my overall philosophy.

I had a lot of fun reading this, similar to the last Gilmore cookbook. To parody Daniel Webster, it is a silly show and yet, there are those of us who love it. Gilmore Girls is what I turn to when I'm having a really bad day, or bad stretch of days. My friends and I could debate plot lines, character flaws, love interests, etc., ad nauseam (okay...we definitely *do* debate them ad nauseam). This book does too!!!! Episodes are rehashed, boyfriends are discussed (is Luke just too moody? Was Max too dull? Is Logan an entitled jerk or charismatic and fun?), and it is just great nostalgia. If Gilmore Girls lifts your spirits, this cookbook will, too.

Loses a star because I did not find these recipes as approachable as the first book. I love cooking but there are a few items I don't desire to attempt: deep frying and making pie crust are among them. There, the cost/benefit analysis doesn't really pan out for me and I'd rather just buy it. But if you're up for a challenge and cooking adventure, you might like this more.

Most of the taco recipes look really good, and many of the other aforementioned recipes can easily be adapted by, you know, buying a pie crust. Overall, still a great book I enjoy.

There are a few things that make a cookbook great.
1. Pictures - Do the recipes look appetizing?
2. Stories - Did you tell me why this recipe was included? Can I connect with the story?
3. Recipes - Will I actually make these recipes?

Eat Like a Gilmore: Daily Cravings meets all three. Looking through the pictures I thought, “Yum.” Reading the stories made me reminisce about the episodes connected to each recipe, my favourites, and the characters I love. And finally, Yes, I do want to make these recipes. In fact, tomorrow is biscotti day.

The recipes may look like they have too many steps, but they’re broken down into small pieces for ease. Even Lorelei could master cooking with this cookbook.

This book is very cute. Nice photographs. Would have liked a few more "everyday" dishes that didn't use fancy cookware, and some more ordinary ingredients. But I am a picky eater and you can find ordinary recipes anywhere. I don't own the first book but if it's like this one I am sure it's good. I love Gilmore Girls and this was a nice gift.

I was excited when I came across this book at the library since I’m been a Gilmore Girls fan for awhile. I picked it up thinking I would just skim and enjoy the photos and blurbs, but actually I ended up really liking this cookbook. The are some pretty good recipes. I’ve bookmarked quite a few pages and will definitely be making homemade tater tots and peach pie this week.

i really liked the recipes in this version of Eat like a Gilmore. This is my 3rd one I have read so far and my favorite. Carlson always includes the scene in which the recipe is inspired from. good to have on your bookshelf if you are a fan.

Eh. A stretch. And some of the pictures were downright unappetizing.

What a disappointment. The photos looked unprofessional. Who would want make anything that looks bad in a cookbook?
