I gave this book to my son, who just turned 8. He LOVED it!!! He literally read it in 3 days. Turns out he snuck a flashlight into bed with him and was reading after lights out. No wonder he was so tired the last few mornings. He said "Dad, I could hear you coming up the stairs. I stuck the book and light under the pillow." Now I know to sneak up the stairs!!!! Back to the book. My son has the mind of an engineer. It's constantly working and he can do several things at once. So for him to put aside everything he is working on and be all consumed by a book is amazing. I haven't read it but he keeps saying how great it was.

There’s a Spaceship in My Tree!: Episode I (Star-Fighters of Murphy Street) by Robert West is about a boy whose family moves from California to the Midwest and the adjustments he has to make. Everything is so different and he prays each night and wishes on a falling star that he can just go back “home.” As he meets a couple kids who also live on Murphy Street, he discovers that things are more different than he thought. In fact, they’re strange—including the spaceship-shaped treehouse.

West adds a new twist to Christian Sci-fi that I hadn’t seen much, if at all. It’s a fun middle-grade page-turner that I think both boys and girls will enjoy.

**ARC/GIVEAWAY**

Thanks for the giveaway! I've already put the book in my school library, which is sadly lacking in a lot of great sci-fi titles. The book is charming and perfect for 3rd-5th graders who want a more contemporary book about aliens. Several students have already picked it up, and I'm getting a student review on it soon! We really appreciate it.

There is a new kid that has just arrived at his new house and when he goes to school, he finds out that there is a bully gang that is really mean called the Skull Gang. Beamer discovers really nice artist style drawings in the bathroom's trash can and so he picks it out of the trash can, looks at them, then the leader of the gang finds out that Beamer saw the drawings and makes a judgement that he stole them. And so, his friends are in great danger of the treehouse that they built being destroyed by the Skull Gang. In the end, the Skull Gang is tarred with molasses and feathers, birdseed, and pecked by lots of birds and stung by lots of bees. I thought the book was OK, but it needed more pictures, because it is hard to tell from the action what was always going on.
