Hitomi Tokugawa’s life has been one long, boring moment, and her passion for making it exciting has only made her covet novelty even more. She leaves her home island of Aogashima following Araki Mataemon, a legendary swordsman with a sworn oath to destroy Hitomi’s clan. Cunning, sexy, and absolutely lethal, Araki will drag Hitomi away from her unvarying existence and launch her into a new life within her eternity.
A Pause in Eternity chronicles the unfading influence the people we meet have on our lives.
A Pause in Eternity is more a domestic drama with characters that happen to be kitsune than it is a fantasy. Hitomi is a very relatable character. The characters modern vernacular in a historical setting, which is not a thing I usually like, but it works for Hitomi and her attitude and personality.
I would have preferred more action and less introspection, but the end of this book seems to indicate in the next novel we will get to see more of the world and its fantasy components. I would like to see how this young fox changes and develops after her experience.
The background has obviously been thoroughly researched, and I learned some interesting tidbits I didn't know about Japanese history and folklore.
I am looking forward to reading more of Hitomi's adventures and learning more about the mythology on which the kitsune characters are based!

Loved this book! So many emotions involved. So many twists I didn't see coming. It was a fantastic read. That i will probably reread several times. The characters are fabulous. I love Hitomi she is so stubborn and fun to read about. Araki is so sweet but he's a warrior through and through. Seriously I will recommend this book to all my friends. If only so they can feel, how I feel right now. Amazing!
