The Dashing Duck is an adventurous and touching story about young Seabert Duck. Determined Seabert learns that things do not always work out the way he envisioned. So, with the help of family and friends, Seabert discovers his natural gift and purpose in life.
THE DASHING DUCK is the perfect gift for children 5 – 9. But the illustrations are so beautifully done, even I enjoyed flipping through the book and lingering on many of the images. Page after page of gorgeous drawings – done by the author herself.

After his dreams are dashed Seabert becomes depressed, until one day he discovers that what he thought was his curse in life is actually his true gift and he again finds his purpose in life.
It is a delightful coming of age story that children will find delightful. They will be drawn in by the beautiful cover, the charming drawings of ducks throughout the book, and the positive message of the story. This is sure to be a favorite!
I really enjoyed the story of The Dashing Duck by Dana Case Rosenberg. Not only was the story creative and entertaining, but the illustrations were also amazing and helped bring the characters to life. Seabert is your typical duck that faces all the challenges of growing up from school to sports and even career decisions. He's an optimistic duck but soon realizes that things don't always go as planned. Seabert encounters many obstacles along the way including competing against his rival Jake, the superstar from the neighboring school. Will Seabert be able to overcome all the challenges he faces with Jake? This coming of age story provides a wholesome message and laughs along the way that makes the journey with Seabert worth taking. I have already read the book aloud over a dozen times and I always receive giggles from "the audience" especially when using my duck voices.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway recently. It is a cute story of a duck who learns that everyone has a talent or a gift that will help them succeed in life. The message of the story is a positive one, and the story is good for all ages. When my youngest saw the book after it arrived in the mail, he immediately grabbed it and began reading it. It has an appealing cover as well as illustrations inside. I especially loved the adorable pictures of the ducks throughout the book! Thank you for a charming story that is sure to be a favorite!
