The men around Volcanologist Lenaia Talavera have a habit of dying. As she struggles to process the tragedies, she pulls away from God and her boyfriend, Paleontologist Travis Perego. So when she’s called back to Mt. Rainier and the small town of Mayim to investigate an act of sabotage, she jumps at the chance to avoid her problems and solve the puzzle. Someone on the mountain has tampered with the early warning system for rising magma, but who would want to risk an eruption that could kill an entire town?

Lenaia soon discovers that two women from town have disappeared. When she finds one of them dead on the mountain, she suspects the murder is related to the sabotage.

As she digs deeper, the evidence leads her to a deserted part of the mountain and an explosive secret. Unsure of who to trust and with time running out, Lenaia must stop a deadly plan before a killer buries the town of Mayim in a cascade of evil.

Christy and Carol Award finalist Janice Boekhoff (pronounced Beau-cough) is a former Research Geologist turned Author. Although she’s not nearly as tan anymore, she enjoys spending time in her office dreaming up ways to kill a dinosaur or bend the fabric of time while her Vizsla writing partner snores in his dog bed next to her. A Midwest native, she writes from Iowa where traffic is nonexistent and hogs outnumber people 7 to 1 (good thing they can’t drive).

Lots of twists; non-stop action. You will not guess who done it! I loved this clean book about volcanologist Lenaia ...
people keep dying around her, and her boyfriend, Travis, would like to move their relationship further along. She has been pulling away from God and jumps at the assignment to go to Mt. Rainier and run away from her problems. Someone on the mountain has tampered with the early warning system for rising magma, but who would want to risk an eruption that could kill an entire town? Two women disappear ... are these things related? I liked the real-life struggles people have with wanting to understand the “why” in bad situations, and the question of whether God owes us an explanation. Do we trust Him anyway?

Oh. my. WORD!!!!

I didn’t think Janice Boekhoff could top her previous two novels in this series, Crevice and Created, but ohhh how wrong I was! Cascadeis non-stop action packed mystery, set in the wilderness of Mt. Rainer, with just the right touch of romance.

If you’re looking for a suspenseful read filled with plot twists, mystery, and a romantic backbone holding it all together, Cascade is the book to read. What a fantastic way to end the Earth Hunters series! I can’t wait to read Janice’s next series – Jurassic Judgment.

I was graciously provided a free copy of this novel from Janice Boekhoff in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

I am new to this author but I am now a fan. Must go back to read #1 and #2. This is a thrilling book that is impossible to put down. I spent a weekend doing nothing but reading - got behind on everything else. I loved this story/plot and the characters.

I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily providing an honest review.

When looking for suspense, mystery, romance, and Spiritual Inspirational reading this book is a must.
Having been to Mt Rainier it made it more real, Janice brings out the characters very well, almost like hiking with each one of them, and wanting to protect Lenaia myself! When starting the book it was hard to put it down and try to do something else.

This is a great conclusion to this series. I couldn't put it down! There are some very tramatic scenes near the end. I didn't guess the perpetrator at all or the reason he wanted to destroy the town. I do enjoy the Christian faith aspects in the book. I like it's a mysterious story. Fitting conclusion to the series. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.

Always love Janice’s writing!

I love the continuing story from the last book in the series with real characters living in real life situations with honest emotion but a whole new location! This book definitely makes me want to go to Mt. Reiner.

This is one exciting book to keep you reading. People just seem to keep dying around Lenai. She isolates herself. Finally she has a chance to do something good. I can’t wait for the next one.
