Keo isn’t an easy man to kill. Many have tried, and none have succeeded. His skills are becoming legendary, but everyone has an Achilles heel.
In the aftermath of Buck’s bloody surprise attack on Darby Bay, Keo has rushed to help his friends. But he’s too late, and the battle has already been decided. Yet, while the fates of many have been sealed, others still hang in the balance.
One of those people is Lara, the only woman Keo can’t seem to put behind him. She’s back in his life, and the situation is more dire than ever. The world is suddenly full of enemies again, and it will take all of Keo’s abilities to keep them both alive.
In The Distance, Book 6 in the Road to Babylon series, the chase is on, but the enemy will discover that you hunt Keo at your own peril.
Maybe I got spoiled by the other Babylon books, but , I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped. Just dealing with 2 main characters really was disappointing. With so much left to cover with some/most of the other main characters the lack of information about them. Maybe, the 7th book will focus on them as well as Keo and Lara.
Wow! No words can describe how awesome this book was. I did not get a thing done because I read until it was done. Keo comes to Darby Bay the day after the attack, and after Gaby sacrificed herself to keep Lara alive. His mission is to find Lara, keep Lara safe and what an adventure he takes! I loved this book! Keo has always been my favorite character, but in this book he truly shines as a hero. My only question is where did Horse go?
My hubby got me hooked on Sisivath from the very beginning. I have plowed thru each book and eagerly await the next one. While I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, and have even read his other "non-purge" books, I have noticed that the characters have started to all become versions of Danny. Smart-ass jokesters. Which I LOVE, don't get me wrong. But I will admit I miss the different character personalities and their development. Having a bunch of Danny's gets a tad repetitive. Bring back the different personalities Sisivath!! :)
I can't understand why I like this series, basically shooting people while running around the countryside avoiding ghouls if possible. But once I start reading I can't stop until its finished. If its ended a good ending as I am not sure where it could go from there. But I hope you have some ideas Sam.
A decent romp in this dystopian post-apocalyptic workd Sisavath has created, but I am getting a bit tired of running gun battles with the ghouls and 11th hour deus ex machina rescues. That said, I will definitely read the next (last?) in the series.
Keo and Lara are caught behind enemy lines between opposing forces. Keo and Lara are!
I love Keo and Lara and to get both of them together is amazing! The action is fast and furious and, as usual, bloody! The characters we know and love are comfortable like a big flannel shirt. We know them so well, but they still can surprise us. There were plenty of surprises, to be sure, beginning right away and continuing right to the end!
If you don't know Keo and Lara, you should get the first book in the Purge of Babylon Series and get to know them and their amazing story! For the rest of us, this is a must read that I couldn't put down. You'll love it too!
“Find Lara. Save Lara. Kill everyone that gets in the way.”
I love love love this series and the characters! Not sure the number of this book in the series and it doesn’t matter so long as the story continues! Great story line, love Keo,,, a guy that names his horse “Horse” I have Sam Sisavath added as a favorite author and you better believe I’ll read anything he throws out there. Great job Sam!
So maybe I thought "The Road to Babylon" series had all but played out. Guess I was wrong. This started a little bit slower than usual so I put this book down for some other new reads. Glad I picked it back up because then I read for another two days straight trying to find a slow spot to rest. These "After the Purge" series books just keep getting better. Thanks to author Sam Sisavath for continuing these stories. Exciting, Exhilarating and just plain fun.
Having now finished the entire series of Babylon books I can say they are filled with action and some very questionably survivable injuries to those in the ending. There are varied inaccuracies as in dirt bikes running on diesel fuel but overall the books comprise an entertaining departure from daily life.
I’ve now finished all the Babylon series and I am really sorry to see the series end. The characters all became like friends and I was most sorry to see Gaby die - she had become my favorite character. At long last Ken and Lara have reunited and are on their way to a better life - together. Again, I’m really sorry to see the end of the story.
Really enjoyed reading this series. Characters were be!ievable and the plot was entertaining all the way through.. Not just your everyday zombie story, but an interesting take on the end of the world genre. Please Sam, give more. Where is Buck, are all of the blue eyes gone.
I think Leo is the best character in this book. Always has a sense of irreverent humor. All the characters are interesting.! I devour each book in th series and can hardly wait for the next. I am excited to see what happens with Lara and Leo and how long they can stay out of the "action"!
So far this "Road to Babylon" series has been every bit as good as the "Purge of Babylon" series was. But it can't end with Keo and Lara,a.k.a Bob and Edna just walking into the sunset can it? One notebook to go. Damn Sam you sure know how to string a story together. Book 7 here I come.
This is one of his good ones. I can only take so much sadness after all we read s a distraction not to get depressed. But all of you looking for action it has plenty of that too he never disappoints on that.
The most , I can not find the words to describe how much I love 💘 this series. Your writing kept me so attached to all the characters and the story, I wanted the next one that day. Thanks for awesome ride.
What can I say. Love Sam Sisavath's books. Keo, alive and kicking. Looking for Lara is his total mission. Fight some Bucky's, fight some ghouls and you have a lot of action again in this book. Now I'll have to wait patiently (well not too patiently) for the next book.
The stories are so well written, both in the characters and the action, it’s a shame they end, but also good to know the endings as well. Can’t wait for more in this world or others.
This is another great book in this second series about humans and ghouls. Keo is one of the best characters in the series and there is plenty of action and some drama. I'm buying the next one now. Keep them coming Mr Sisavath.
Best entry of the current series. The strongest books in the Purge and Babylon series are the ones the revolve around Keo. Interested to see where the series goes from here.
