Lots of interesting information on "neuroplasticity" and how doctors are trying different treatments with great success. They say the brain just needs to change the "map" when some of the cells die, like after a strike. If the area damaged is responsible for speech, change the brain so another area can take over, as one idea. Another was about laser beams healing people. Skimmed through some of it that didn't interest me/
I just read The Brain's Way of Healing, but those other two are still on my list.
This book was incredible- it took a long time to work through but it really taught me a lot and opened my mind to new ways of thinking about my own teaching and learning practices. As well as my own inner approach to ageing and other life changes.
