From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a new story in her Delta Force Heroes series…After years of estrangement, Mercedes Laughlin has finally reconciled with her older brother. It should be the happiest time of her life, getting to know Truck and his new wife…and it would be, if an ex wasn’t causing her trouble. Add in Truck’s boss, Colonel Colton Robinson, an amazingly distracting man whom she met under embarrassing circumstances, and Macie’s got a bit more on her plate than she can handle. From the moment they met, Colt was fascinated by Macie, and helping her through an anxiety attack at her brother’s wedding didn’t diminish the appeal. He’d do his best to sweep her off her feet, if not for a little voice telling him to tread lightly—until a frantic phone call changes the plan. Macie’s being targeted, and Colt’s determined to keep her safe while he and her brother eliminate the threat. Colt isn’t about to let his friend lose his sister again so soon…or miss his own chance at a happy ending with Macie before they’ve barely had a beginning.**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, Susan Stoker has a heart as big as the state of Tennessee where she lives, but this all American girl has also spent the last fourteen years living in Missouri, California, Colorado, Indiana, and Tennessee. She's married to a retired Army man who now gets to follow her around the country.
Mercedes Laughlin is in trouble. She calls her brother Truck for help and he just happens to be with his boss, Colonel Colton Robinson. Macie has just found Truck recently and after being estranged for so long is back in his life. She spent with Colonel Colton Robinson as Truck and Mary's wedding and they seemed to share a mutual attraction and even spent the night together. Things go mixed up and Colt hasn't seen her in a month but as soon as Truck received the call, Colt bolted after him to come to her rescue.
Macie has a lot of anxiety and she isn't sure about a lot of things but she is sure that she feels safe with Colt, he grounds her a way no one else ever has. He doesn't mind her flaws and he wants her. He wants is all with her if only she can see that and not let her anxiety over take her.
Macie is a strong character even thought the anxiety can be too much for her. She can't turn her thoughts off and she worries about a lot of stuff most people don't. She has suffered a lot in her teenaged years and her parents are horrible people. She became a wonderful woman despite her parents. Colt is your typical alpha male hero. There are stories about him that might make some women run or complain. He has his reasons and he is a sexy, loyal, caring man who is always there for his teams and instills loyalty in them as well.
This was a fun, fast, sexy story. I was sad when it ended only because I wanted more. But then I was want more when I finish a novel by Ms. Stroker. I can't wait to meet the new team and see what kind of women they fall for and will Macie be the one to steer them in the right direction?
This story was go go go, right from the start. Mercedes has had to climb out of her bedroom window, jump into a tree, climb down said tree, hide in a parking lot and then eventually a bush, all to escape some strangers who have broken into her apartment. They want something from her, something she doesn't know she has. Luckily her brother is part of an elite military group and he and his commander rescue her from her tight spot. She and Colt shared a connection, but his indecision and her anxiety led to miscommunication. Although she's in trouble now, she couldn't be safer than in his arms.
The thing I love most about the 1001 Dark Nights series of books is that I get to discover a new-to-me author and figure out if I want more or not. I get a little taste, just a wee sample, and it lets me know about their writing style, introduces me to some of their characters, and I get a sense of what I can expect in the future. With several of Susan Stoker's books waiting to be read on my kindle, I was happy to get this chance. Now I know I'm going to have a blast reading her other books! My only issue with this story was the fact that Mercedes suffered from anxiety and I didn't like how it was portrayed. The author did leave a note to the reader that she wasn't an expert on the disorder, so I guess I can understand why it wasn't captured well. As someone who suffers from anxiety, it was hard to follow what this character was going through. I think the story would have been strong even if she didn't have to deal with it. I would have preferred it that way. However, apart from that, I enjoyed the love that developed between the characters and how charming they were as individuals and how in tune they were together. If Colt is anything like this author's other heroes, I'm in for a sweet treat!
I actually haven't read the other Delta Force novels, but I didn't have a problem reading this one without starting the previous stories first. Past, and even some future, characters were involved in the book though and it has me dying to get their stories so I'm really glad I picked this one up. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing how understanding and protective Colt was with Macie and it's what made the book for me. I always enjoy this authors Alpha heroes so I'll definitely be getting the other books in this series soon.
I loved this Novella and it is tied for first place in this series along with Rescuing Rayne. It is a Stoker favorite along with Rescuing Rayne.
This story is about Mercedes (Macie) Laughlin, 33, Truck's sister, and the Commander Col. Colton Robinson, 43.
Macie lived with chronic anxiety which was due to her horrific childhood and the awful things her parents did to her emotionally and mentally! She met the Colonel at Truck's and Mary's wedding and she had a horrific anxiety attack for which she was being treated. There was little hope that she would be able to recover from this.
Colt witnessed the anxiety attack at the wedding and was familiar with how it worked because he has a relative who suffers from the same thing. He whisked her away and took her to his home where it was quiet and peaceful. They talked all night but when he awoke the next morning she was gone. What he didn't know is that she left a note with her number on it and it had fallen under the bed. He was really upset because he had no way to contact her and didn't want to ask Truck because he and Macie had been estranged for twenty years...all at the hands of their lying, conniving, vicious parents.
I don't believe that Colt was a man-whore. He may have been when he was younger but he was not now. He hadn't been with anyone in over a year and it had been four years for Macie.
When they finally reconnect Colt knew he would never let her get away again.
Reading this story reminded me why Susan Stokes was once an auto but author for me. I have loved a lot of her books in the past and wish I could have continued some of the series.
Colton was a good hero, kind and patient with the heroine. As a military leader I had hoped he would have been more alpha and went after Macie when she left. He could have easily manned up and asked her brother for her number. He did redeem himself somewhat when he was there for her when she needed him most.
Macie was so sweet. Her anxiety was crippling at times. That, and her horrible parents made her so self conscious. She worked so hard to be strong and I really liked her.
~no cheating ~no ow drama ~a man she dated briefly caused drama ~no violence of a sexual nature ~safe neither with others after meeting ~slow burn no real steam until later into the book ~epilogue was very lacking. Only about 6 months into the future. I need more of a look at their HEA than that.
This was a great depiction of anxiety disorder. I do think it doesn’t get enough attention. Macie and Colt were so good together. Colt was so loving and supportive. It was not an easy journey to their HEA, but they did it!
Great story about a guy who is protecting the woman he loves. She suffers from panic attacks and he understand it and helps her through them. Really great guy. She was very vulnerable but she had been verbally abused for years from her parents. I liked how she did have a spine somewhere underneath the anxiety. He was madly in love with her too. I loved that. These guys were chasing her because they thought she had something this creepy guy stashed at her house one night. But Colt and his guys came through for her. Loved the epilogue. Plus it's safe.
FANTASTIC story! Quick, action-packed, sweet & steamy, full of banter & alpha-y goodness! I appreciated the way Macie's anxiety is portrayed, and the way Colt reads her signs correctly. He puts in the work, does the research necessary to be sure he understands (as much as he can) where she's coming from so that he can make life as smooth as possible for her - while not taking anything away from her independence or self, if that makes sense!
I loved the dynamic of the story, the relationships that we get to see form not only between Colt & Macie, but with her brother & sister-in-law, his teams, and their women. HUGE thumbs up to this story!! (Also, can we talk about the amazing job the 1001 Dark Nights peeps did w/ this cover?!?!)
Stoker is one of my favorite ‘go to’ authors and I am always on the lookout for her next book. I love to escape into the fabulous worlds she creates for her readers with her stories. Some might say they are the typical cliché novels with the hunky, alpha men, women that always need rescuing and a romantic twist thrown in and you know what?... Those people would be correct – HOWEVER, they are also SO MUCH MORE. When you dive into one of her books, Stoker always incorporates ‘real life’ issues and struggles with her characters that they have to work through to find themselves and realize they are survivors and can handle anything thrown their way and they always have friends that have their backs when needed, lend a helping hand, or just be silent support. You also get the close bonds of true friendship that runs deeper than family but born of blood, sweat, and tears with her military men as well as men who take charge, stand up for the little guy, go the extra mile and ALWAYS treat a lady like a lady. And the guaranteed happy ending, well…why not?! After all they go through, they deserve it! The research Stoker puts into getting her characters' actions and feelings correct for the situations/circumstances are also off-the-chart amazing. She goes the extra mile so we, the readers, can better relate and maybe even see ourselves in the characters. And that is what happens here with Rescuing Macie for me.
Stoker really brought Macie’s character to life for me with her anxiety issues and I can relate on a deeply personal level. I have battled serious anxiety issues for many years and though some think it is something to just laugh or shrug off, I can tell you from experience, the struggle is real on a daily basis to just try to have a normal day. When you read this book you might even think of someone you know that has similar issues and maybe it will help you have a better understanding of them and what they deal with. Maybe next time you see them you can offer a few encouraging words or just let them know you are there. Kindness and understanding can go a long way.
For this book – Rescuing Macie is a fast-paced, intense, action-filled bag of goodness that will keep you on your toes. There is plenty of excitement, danger, mystery, and romance to hold your interest and to keep you invested in the story. We get to look at the relationship between Macie and her brother, Truck, including more background from their childhood and circumstances that brought them to where they are now. As usual, his team jumps into the fray to lend a helping hand when things go bad and their women also make an appearance to pull Macie into the fold. We also get to see a different, softer side of Truck’s boss, Colonel Colton Robinson. Watching him and Macie together is so sweet and his tender care of her is just perfect. They have found the perfect match in each other and reading their story was a fun adventure and their happiness truly deserved. Rescuing Macie is yet another fabulous Stoker read and, as always, I anxiously await the next adventure with her military men.
*Thank you to Susan Stoker for gifting me a copy of Rescuing Macie. I was under no obligation to read or review this story; however, how could I not?! This book strikes a personal chord and I felt I needed to put my words out there. All thoughts and opinions are strictly my own.
I loved every page of this story and am so looking forward to the next one. I am in love with this author's writing, she has been my favorite author for a while and this one had just added to my addiction.
Ever since I picked up the first book in this series (which was also my very first read by the author) I’ve crossed my toes that Colt would get his own HEA at some point because the man seriously deserved it. So, I was all kinds of excited when it was made known that he’d be getting one and was not disappointed! It may be a novella, but it definitely packed a punch and has all the goodness I’ve come to love when it comes the author words!
After always seeing Colt as the ‘commander’ who is a little gruff and stern, as he should be considering the lives he is in charge, it was so much fun to see the sweet, gentler side of the man and find that he has just as much charm and charisma as the rest of the Delta men he is surrounded by. I loved Macie and it was really easy to connect with her. She is sweet, sassy and is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for and it comes out when those she loves are being treated unfairly. Her past isn’t pretty, but I loved how she still dreamed of a happy life for herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed Colt and Macie’s journey to their HEA. The attraction between them was there from the start, but I loved the slow burn nature of it. They got to know each other and truly become comfortable with who the other was and the lives they led. There weren’t any really big bumps in their road, with the exception of the threat to Macie, but the ones they did face, they did it together and became stronger as individuals and as a couple.
It’s hard for me to not get all kinds of twitterpated and giddy when reading a book in this world. The characters are well written and I love getting to spend time with them, and we definitely get time with all the Delta Force guys and their women as they rally around Colt and Macie. We also get to hang out a little more with the guys on the second team Colt oversees and I’m definitely looking forward to getting to know all of them better. And then there is Annie. Even after all this time, she is still my favorite!
Note: This can be read as a standalone, but after meeting everyone I’m pretty sure you’ll want to start at the beginning.

I absolutely adored this novella! I have not checked out the other books in the series, but you bet I will be doing so! I always have mixed feelings about novella's because trying to find the perfect balance of moving swiftly but not too fast through a book is really hard to do--- but not with Susan Stoker!
Macie has been through the ringer in her life. She suffers from intense anxiety and this has always affected her relationships and her life. I cannot even begin to imagine how frustrating that would be in a life. Even though she suffers through this, she is an amazing person that is super sweet and just the right amount of fire underneath it.
Colt is the commander of the Delta Force. He can be a cold blooded killer when his team is in jeopardy and even though he is in his mid-40s, he has never met anyone that has captured his attention to want a lasting relationship with, until Macie, who just happens to be one of his team member's sister.
There is some crazy stuff that goes down and Colt ends up taking Macie in and that is all I am gonna tell you folks. Just know that this is a beautiful story and I cannot wait to read more about these heroic but so loving men!
PS: I received this book for free but am voluntarily reviewing it!
If I want a read with love, friendship and a good shot of danger and suspense, I know to pick up a Susan Stoker novel. Once again, I got just what I wanted with Macie and Colt’s story!
Macie was an intriguing character. Strong and capable in so many ways but uncertain in others. On the fringes of the Delta Force group, she worried about everything, wanting to fit in with her brother and his chosen family. Colt recognized those strengths as he fell for her, everything about her. Meeting again in a life and death situation meant their courtship was, as usual in this group, highly unusual.
And highly entertaining. This was a novella that packed so much into a small package – all the elements I crave in a good story. There was sweetness and spice, danger and heroism. Real people in extraordinary and ordinary situations in a read I immediately got lost in – and didn’t want to leave!
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down.
There were MANY aspects that I liked about this book, but what I enjoyed the most was how much Mrs. Stoker was able to get into the mind of someone dealing with crippling anxiety. You felt Macie's fear and understood why she did what she did.
Colt was known as being a hard and firm man. However when he was dealing with Macie, he just seemed to know what to say or how to touch her to help her calm down. I really liked just how much he got her. For example, after the break in and she was dealing with the detectives, he knew she was pinching her thigh to keep herself in check.
There was a level of trust these two has that came very organically that it was really nice to read.
As usual another great story. This time we meet Trucks sister Macie. We saw her at Trucks wedding where she was having a panic attack and the commander (Colt) soothed her through it. Macie hears something in her apartment and then she hears voices. Realising their are people there, she starts to feel the start of a panic attack. She manages to escape but they are on her trail. A phone call to truck and Colt sees her hide from the baddies as they race to save her. What we get is Colt protecting Macie from her ex. As the weeks go on and no sign of anyone is it all over? One of the deltas is down and Macie is nowhere to be seen.......can the commander and the Deltas get to Macie before it turns fatal? A great read from start to finish.
Such a fun look at our beloved Delta Team by Susan Stroker. I've read a few of the Delta Team books, and many of her other books. This quick read can be read as a standalone, with the reader being filled in neatly by the author on the most relevant back story. Of course, it does make a more complete and enjoyable world if you've read the whole series, but I haven't read the series in order or completion and still.enjoyed and followed this book easily.
The book’s plot follows the younger sister of one of the Delta Team, and the Colonel of Delta Team. So there are dynamics at play with the power differences there, as well as a significant age gap. Through it all we find that the overall idea is that there is a right person, at the right time, for everyone. It’s a heartwarming and feel good story!
Colonel Colton Hurt first meets Macie after her brother’s wedding. This scene is in a previous book, but is summarized nicely in this one. He helps her through a panic attack and is very attracted to her. Macie is thankful to the man who helps her navigate the panic attack and wants to keep in contact. But fate steps in to keep them apart. It was fun to get to know the Colonel as a person, not just the man in charge. And Macie deals with her anxiety in amazing ways to be a advocate for herself, and work within her comfort zone. How those two interacted and built each other up and were kind, good people gives me hope for all humanity!
I loved how you could tell the two had feelings and we're attracted to each other, but didn't immediately jump into sex. They waited until they had worked through some of their issues, established trust, and put time and effort into their relationship. So when they do take the next step, they have a solid base to make a crazy hot sex life. Their heat is amazing and it makes for some erotic reading.
I loved reading this novella. It was over too soon. The author did a great job of adding in just enough details from past books so the reader isn’t left confused so the book can be read alone, but also in weaving the past characters so well into the new story to create an intricate web of family and friends you wish you were part of. One thing I love about this author’s writing is that despite having books full of alpha, muscle bound, hot shot military men...they are always respectful and kind. They may tease their brothers-in-arms, but they are good citizens of the world. And the women they inevitably fall in love with are all strong in their own unique and personal way.
I really liked how this book tackled one aspect of mental health. I read it as an outsider with no anxiety issues like Macie, but it felt respectful and well written. All of Ms. Stroker’s books are well written, and this was no different. There was the perfect balance of mystery, relationship building, past characters, foreshadowing, world building, sexy military men and good friendships.
Rescuing Macie: A Delta Force Heroes Novella is by Susan Stoker. This novella is wonderful and is hard to put down. Luckily, it is short so it didn’t take long to read. It is fast paced and full of adventure. It fits right in with the rest of Susan Stoker’s Delta Force books. Mercedes Laughlin had a very hard childhood which left her with a great deal of anxiety. She worried all the time about things that most people would never worry about. She had chosen her apartment with care and made sure that there were at least two other means of escape in addition to the front door. She had a carpenter come in and make a false wall in the back of her walk-in closet where she could go and hide if necessary or when she had severe migraines and needed a totally dark place to be. She was working very hard to not totally depend on medication, especially the one that put her completely out. She worked creating websites for people from her home so didn’t have to face large groupings of people on a regular basis. She had just recently been reunited with her brother Ford (also known as Truck) and was very careful not to upset him in any way because he might disappear on her again. She blamed herself for his going in to the Army at a young age and being gone from her life. Her parents also told her that he had gone because she was bad and he was mad at her. They were definitely mental abusive to her. Truck had recently gotten married and at his wedding, she had an episode; but Truck’s commanding officer, Colton Robinson, had seen it and had escorted her out before she made a scene. He had stayed with her that night to calm her down. Although he was attracted to her, she had left the next morning and he had no way of getting hold of her without asking Truck. Macie was unable to sleep and so heard two men outside her apartment talking about breaking in and getting something as well as abusing her and hurting her. She was able to climb out a window and go down a nearby tree. She had taken her phone and called Truck for help. He was in a debriefing with Colton and when he walked out of the room, Colton followed him. Together, they left immediately to help Macie. Truck drove while Colton talked to Macie and calmed her down and talked her into saving herself. Truck called the police in her town and sent them on their way as well. Who were the two men, what did they want, and who did they work for? Truck, Colton and the rest of the team have to figure out the answers before Macie is hurt again. Can they keep her safe long enough to thwart whomever is after her?
I love the 1001 Dark Night novellas because they are typically a quick read. Most of the books I've read under this umbrella are stories that the author wants to tell, but the characters are either in an ongoing series and don't quite have enough meat to make up a full novel, or it's a great way for the author to introduce a new character that has a chance in a new series without having to begin a full novel all on their own.
Rescuing Macie is the perfect example of both options above. Macie and Colt are both characters who straddle two storylines and Rescuing Macie makes this a perfect place to bring two very likeable characters and two worlds into focus.
Rescuing Macie touches base with the old Delta Force world which includes Ghost, Truck, Beatle, and the rest of the force, but it also introduces us to another Delta Force currently under Colt's command. A force of soldiers that are younger and all currently single. This is exciting news. This means a whole new set of men who have their own stories and we get to be a part of that adventure.
What's also exciting is Macie is Truck's sister. This means we won't lose touch with the old Delta Force because; #1 she's related to them and #2 Colt is the commanding officer over both units. So, if you love Stoker's Delta Force world and are invested in them, this is a book you don't want to miss.
Rescuing Macie may be a novella, but it is full of so much. Even though you may have met Macie and Colt in previous books, you get a deeper understanding to what makes Colt tick. This was an emotional moment between Macie and Colt and once again you understand the magic of how Stoker writes the perfect pairing for every book. Also Stoker has a way that makes you understand impairments or setbacks, like Macie's anxiety, so you are compassionate about whatever someone is dealing with, she has an amazing gift.
I'm looking forward to read more about the future of the Delta's.
Macie has recently reconciled with her brother Truck after years of him being away in the army and there being no contact with him. She missed him so much and is so happy to have him back in her life. He is now newly married, lives in her hometown and is still involved in high level security missions.
Macie is settling into bed for the night one evening when someone breaks into her apartment, she suffers really badly from panic attacks and anxiety so this is her worst nightmare. After quickly thinking through her options she manages to escape and get hold of her brother. However, it is the calming voice of Colt, his boss who leads her to safety.
Macie met Colt at Truck’s wedding and has fond memories of the night she had with him. She always wondered why he never kept in touch but also accepted that he just wasn’t interested in anything more. She soon finds out that nothing could be further from the truth. After helping her escape her scary encounter, Colt moves Macie into his house so he can provide around the clock protection. Until the danger is eliminated he will feel better if she is nearby.
Things soon move quickly between this couple, they both fall hard and fast. Meanwhile danger is lurking nearby so there is a nail biting element of suspense weaved throughout the pages. If you like stories with an alpha male getting all protective of the woman he wants then you will enjoy this novella in the Delta Force Heroes series.
Full of suspense, intensity, vulnerability, love and comfort...this military romance has it all! Susan Stoker never ceases to amaze me as she writes heroines that are dealing with challenges in one way or another, yet so fiercely strong and admirable. Me. Stoker has absolutely nailed the feelings associated with anxiety and the attacks they can cause with a clarity like none I have ever read before. Macie’s thoughts and actions are so realistic and vivid I could feel my own heart pound right along with her. Colt, her brother’s commander, arrives back in her life when she needs him the most. Not only are his skills as a warrior valuable but his ability to balance Macie, ground her and offer her the comfort she needs are absolutely invaluable. This story kept me engrossed in it from beginning to end, I did not put it down for even a second. If you are looking for a novella that will capture you, grip you and make you feel, then you need to read Macie and Colt’s story today!
Macie has recently reconnected with her estranged brother Truck and it couldn’t have happened at a better time. She suffers from anxiety and is nervous that he will disappear from her life as quickly as entered it, but when she is in danger, he is the one she goes to for help.
Colt is Truck’s boss who she got to know when he assisted her at her brother’s wedding. She was so upset at having someone see her in that condition that she couldn’t bear to face him again but now he is back in her life and determined to protect her from the threat she is facing.
I really enjoyed these two together. There was no denying the chemistry between them, but it was the understanding and support that Colt offered Macie that made her stronger and when it came to Macie, Colt was no longer the closed off leader that the other members of the teams know. It was great to meet up with the other members of the team and leaves us wanting to read the stories of the new team as well.
You have to love those alpha men and the women that love them
Macie met the Commander of her brothers Delta Force team while attending his wedding. Colt took the time to help Macie through her panic attack then promised to call her. After a month without hearing from Colt their paths cross only this time Macie is running for her life. Determined not to let Macie slip through his fingers again Colt established himself as her protector.
Having Macie in his home Colt is more determined than ever to keep Macie safe and in his life permanently. He just has to keep her safe and convince her that this is where she belongs.
As expected Susan once again makes her male swoon worthy and the women they love strong.
Oh my gosh! Reading Macie's story and her daily struggle with anxiety felt so close to home! I could feel her struggles through the page! Susan as usual did such an amazing job describing what it feels like. And Oh Colt! Ever person that struggles with anxiety definitely needs a Colt in their life! *swoon* . Since I don't want to give away any spoilers....its definitely worth reading!! ;-)
A wonderful addition to the Delta Force Heroes series I loved this novella giving Colt his HEA!! I always look forward to listening to books narrated by Stella Bloom and enjoyed this one completely.
5 Star Review of Rescuing Macie (Delta Force Heroes # 9.5) by Susan Stoker I have read a couple of the books in the Delta Force Heroes series and as with those books I found Rescuing Macie to be well written and captivating. Ms.Stoker grabbed my attention form the first chapter till the last. Although not a particularly long read, you will find yourself drawn in to the story that she weaves. The attraction and chemistry between Macie and Colt is almost off the charts as Macie struggles with anxiety. I loved how caring and kind Colt was with Macie, a shock to those who know him well, he is almost like a different man with her and it was that in particular that melted my heart. I was engrossed with this story, so much so that I read it in one go. I just couldn’t wait to see Macie and Colt get the happily ever after they deserved.
Susan Stoker hit it out of the park with Rescuing Macie! Susan Stoker did a FANTASTIC job with Macie and what it was like for her with anxiety. As someone who personally deals with anxiety, I felt a instant connection with Macie. She felt real to me and her symptoms of anxiety felt realistic and how she deals with it felt just as real. It was incredible and refreshing.
The story was engaging and original and very special to me. I loved Colt and his sweet and protective ways and how he shows Macie the perfect amount of caring and attention. Macie was a very likable heroine. Smart, beautiful, caring and my kind of person. Her thoughts and feelings were so much like my own when it comes to friends and people in general. There was also the right amount of suspense and danger that kept my heart a-thumping.
Rescuing Macie is a brilliant and heart melting read and it definitely deserves a SOARING FIVE AMAZING STARS!
I just had my Susan Stoker cherry popped, and I can’t believe I waited this long to read her. I loved everything about this book and I want to read more! She just moved to the top of my “I have to read it now” reading list. I really felt for Macie and her anxiety situation not to mention how her parents treated her. Then there is Colt, the commander of 2 of the Delta Forces, he is not put off by Macie and her quirky issues. When an ex-boyfriend threatens Macie and her safety it drives a Colt to finally make his move. Will Macie put her anxiety on the back burner and really and truly pursue a relationship with Colt? I can’t wait for Trigger’s team books!! I will definitely be reading them.
