Poems of Love and Letting Go

Rate this book
Love like you'd never say goodbye. Weep as though you'd never love again. Let these poems speak the deepest longings of your heart.

Poignant, timeless and true. This book is a personal collection of poems about love and letting go. Whether it be a newfound love, a love that endures a lifetime, or a love that will soon be saying goodbye, one can find in these pages something like a mirror that tells the story of one's own heart.

My Heart's Deepest Wound

I guess you will always be
my heart's deepest wound.
The kind that aches terribly.
The kind that time could never heal.

I glimpse a memory of you
and I feel it!
I feel both the joy and the pain
of loving you.
Yes, loving you.

For I have never really forgotten.
How could the heart forget?
Had I not loved you,
I'd have moved on already.
Had I not loved you,
You wouldn't have been able
to cause me pain.

But I did.
I loved you then, and I love you now.
You will always be
the deepest wound in me.
That's how strongly
you are etched
upon my heart.

"I see now that no person who has ever loved has ever been spared from tears. Tears of joy and tears of sorrow. Of the most intimate union and of letting go."

To love is to be rapt in bliss, to be torn asunder and to be healed and made whole again.

I received a Mobi.file of this book from the author in connection with another book for which she had a giveaway on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.

I love listening to folksongs from different cultures, especially when they’ve been translated into English. One of these songs came to my mind as I read this book. The song is a Jewish folksong from the 1930’s called Tumbalalaika, and in this song a perplexed young lad is up the entire night thinking about whom he should take and not shame, [Think marriage]

When he sees a young girl, he stops and asks her three questions regarding love:
What can grow, grow without rain?
What can burn and never end?
What can yearn, cry without tears?

She looks at this foolish lad and tells him:
A stone can grow, grow without rain.
Love can burn and never end.
A heart can yearn, cry without tears.

The poems which the author, Jocelyn Soriano, has written for this book echoes the questions of this song; especially when one considers that in love some tears must be shed somewhere along the way. These poems come from the author’s own life’s experiences; which anyone, especially women can relate to as they mirror the events in their own lives as well.

Just read the sampling of her poems in the book’s preview pages and you’ll quickly see that I’m correct in what I’ve just said. For having given me and her readers a collection of poetry which can lift one’s spirits and be rather emotional, I’ve given Ms. Soriano the 5 STARS she’s gotten from this reviewer.

Jocelyn writes from her heart and the heart of God.

I met her as a writer on Medium. I read some of her poetry and posts. I learned that her life verse is, “Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God.” — Isaiah 40:1, NRSV

Her newest book of poetry takes us on a journey of love. Poems to inspire and comfort us

She wrote, “I am also a sensitive person, and I can easily absorb other people’s emotions, whether it’s grief or joy.”
We can tell this from her poems.

Feel loved and pick up this wonderful collection of love poems.

Truly Felt

The poems in this book were deeply felt for man of them expressed how I feel or have felt. The title to a lot of them summed many of the words said. Passionate and lovely

Wonderful Read

Love is many things explored. Letting go can be hard sometimes but it's also the best for some. Nicely put together.
