In the twisted jungles of Paradiso, humanity fights for its survival. The fierce, alien warriors of the Combined Army have poured through the Acheron Gate, descending upon the emerald jungles of the newest colonial world in a seemingly unstoppable torrent. The bestial Morat pound the Paradiso front, where brave men and women fight ceaselessly to maintain a defensive line which the sly Shasvastii penetrate with devastating ease. In the star-swept skies above, the collected might of humanity's armadas maintain a life-or-death blockade to cut off an endless horde of alien reinforcements. And if any of humanity's fractious forces falter, then all may be lost...

This is the Player's Guide that includes background, character creation and a thorough explanation of the rules to play the game.
Not having a lot of RPG experience I found this an easy book to work with. The Infinity world is expansive, highly detailed and an interesting SF setting for your RPG adventures. The Lifepath system with your character creation was an interesting addition. It makes creating your character easy and with with the myriad if semi-random roll's character you create can be endlessly varied. It means you have somewhat less control of who and what your character is exactly, but on the flip-side you can have a near instant character with alliances, nemesis's, and a complete background that comes with it.
The rules themselves are pretty flexible, and quite fun to use. The 2D20 system makes for an interesting system. And rather than the a hard Fail/Succeed with your actions, you can boost your actions with a recourses called Momentum and Heat. In addition you can roll effects and complications that that add narrative changes to your chooses, like hitting vital spots, noticing stray expression in social encounters or succeeding in your tast, but encountering complications while doing so.
My favorite feature of the game however is the Talent System. It adds variety to your character and works really well as a mechanical reinforcement to the narrative and your character as a whole. It works by giving you the choice to select a Talent for skills you are trained in. These talents however are not locked at all and as long as you are skilled, you can take that Talent. It allows for a lot if player freedom and a whole lot of game-play variety.
In all this is is pretty good game and beautiful easy to work with Player's Guide.
