From the very first page, you are quickly thrown back into the mind fuck that is the Balance series. Immediately you are overwhelmed by the world that is Kova and Ria and all the raw emotions that comes with this. A coach and athlete relationship that is so far beyond professional that you have no choice but to leave your morals and conscience at the door.
As these are not standalones, each book in this series must be read in order. Twist just thrusts you back into the next life altering events. A new phase of their relationship that finally reveals their real feelings and untold truths. There is no denying that Kova and Ria have been toxic from the beginning. These two are completely co-dependent; an unhealthy passion that makes them whole.

In Twist we are gifted with the real man behind the mask in all his arrogance and devotion. Where in the last books Kova has been an enigma with questionable motives, he finally got the opportunity to redeem himself with Ria. It almost made all his indiscretions towards Ria OK….sort of.

Idk how I lasted this long into reading this series but I’m 9 chapters in and it feels like I’m reading someone torture themself. The child is sick but and needs medical attention but the adults around her are letting her do whatever she wants. What could possibly go wrong? 🤯
This series could definitely been 3 books. We don’t need to read about Adrianna barely eating and stretching and warming up 50x.

Twist was the most intense book of this series yet, and that’s saying something. I was gutted by the end and that cliffhanger had me starting the next book the second I finished this one. I don’t know how it happened, but Kova is officially the best character in these books and I don’t even know how to feel about that. I’m sad it’s almost over, but I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

Be prepared to ugly cry. More than once. I can guarantee you that you’ll be full-out sobbing at one particular scene. But know this, it is absolutely worth every single tear. Twist is the most heartbreaking, emotionally stunningly beautiful love story I have ever read. This book holds a dear place in my heart. Kova & his Malysh makes you believe in hope, love, and fighting for what is important. I am blown away and have the biggest book hangover. A heartbreaking, and angsty love story that was an absolute gem.
“Our love and pain were entwined, curling around us whenever we breathed the same air. We were stuck in a cycle. A painful, endless cycle that had no light at the end of the tunnel.”
In Twist we see a different side of Kova. The man hiding behind a mask. He will do whatever it takes to protect his MALYSH. By any means necessary. Ria is struggling to cope with her recent diagnosis. The stress and competing is wearing on her and slowly her body is shutting down. These flawed individuals are perfectly imperfect for one another. Two sides of a coin, together they are stronger. But obstacles are pushing them in a corner, and soon they must face the consequences of both their actions.
There is a huge cliffhanger. One that made my heart bleed for Ria & Kova. Im shaking after reading the ending. My eyes are puffy and I just want somebody to hold me. *cough cough* I'm talking to you Kova. (call me). The Off Balance series is one of my favorites, this forbidden age gap romance turned my whole world on its axis. I don't know what to do knowing there is only one book left in the series.

Ahhhhh this one is a favorite!
Chef's kiss even when I wanted to kill everyone and throw my Kindle to the wolves!
I wanted to highlight the whole damn book! 😂
I felt like this one was more fast paced with all the plots and the story... Even still being highly focused on gymnastics, it had less of every movement details this time, and for that, I'm extremely thankful! 😂😂
Lots of Kova's layers were peeled off and I could finally start to fall in love with him like i expected to happen since book one... It just took four books, but I'm okay with that.
All the sex that was missing on the previous book, was savagely present on this one, and I say savagely lightly, cause damn it to all hell... There's even blood and knife play, during an angry sex scene on this one, and let me tell you this... It was REAAAALLY hot! 🥵🥵🥵
Adrianna can't take a break... I'm honestly trying to figure out how she survived four books with everything that happens to her, and everything that she AIN'T doing to help her health! But the girl is a fighter!
I won't say much cause i don't want to give much away... A few things happened that i was expecting, but these books are so addicting, that I was just eating everything up like a junkie!
That end was FENOMENAL!
I can't say how much I loved, even if i hated a certain character on that last scene!

Honestly I can’t remember half of what I wrote. What I will say is that this series holds a special place in my heart. I began reading this back in 2016 and I fell in love with the characters.
I know that there has been a lot of controversy regarding this series but I still stand behind my ratings. I loved them, I felt like I was able to grow with the characters, we got to watch Kova & Ria overcome so many obstacles while learning to Love each other.
Kova is hands down one of my favorite characters, he brought out so many emotions in me and I actually cried my heart out while reading these books.
Lucia took us for a fucking ride with this series and I’m still recovering lol.
I remember Including so many quotes in my original review, maybe I’ll add them at a later date because they really are beautiful.
"Sometimes words are empty," he said. "Let me show you how I really feel about you."
I cannot wait for Dismount!

Why am I still reading these? The tension and taboo ness is gone and we are left with crappy lovey dovey teenage drama crap with lameness sprinkled in. I think I'm just committed at this point so here I am. Not good to be honest...

How do you write a review for something like this? Ria & Kova’s story is truly unlike any other. Full on angst, passion, lust, anger provoking, swooning, chills, just simply an unputdownable read!! I can’t believe we are almost to the end. Lucia writes like no other, and I love her for it. She isn’t afraid to go “there” with her characters, and to push them off the freakin cliff!!! I feel like I literally can’t breathe right now. I have felt every emotion under the sun with this book. So thankful that I love to read, and love to read all kinds of romance books. Life’s much more fun when you color outside the lines.

I cannot get to 5th book sooner! The cliffhanger is extremely exciting. Adrianna is suffering from an incurable illness and on top of that she is an excellent gymnast the illness is putting a hinder. To achieve her dreams she is willing to fight against her body's weakness.
Kova is better than the first three books. His reasons for his actions are understandable now but that doesn't excuse his relationship with Adrianna. Now that the truth is out nothing is forgivable.

With Twist, we start off where Release was left off and what a mind twist with an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. This book was epic. Twist is my favorite book in the series. I literally couldn’t book the book down.

She wants to keep it a secret and continue with gymnastics. More Secrets are revealed, and man, do you want to act out on it. I didn't think I could live him more, But I was proven wrong. You can feel his life for Adrianna.

About Twist (Off Balance #4):
Twist is the fourth book in the Off Balance series. It is very important you read the first three books in the series (Balance, Execution, Release) before diving into Twist. This is NOT a standalone series. You will be lost in this story line if you haven't read the first three books.
Adrianna Rossi's Olympic dreams are so close she can nearly feel them in her hands. Until something that is out of her control completely steps in and threatens each and every one of her dreams. Now Adrianna has to find her true strength and fight the impending threat and illness that is living within her body.
Kova has threats of his own to deal with, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to stand beside Ria and help her fight her way through all that's stacked up against her. He'll do anything in his power to help her through. To live with her.
My Thoughts:
This series is based on a very taboo relationship between an elite gymnast (Adrianna) and her Russian stud of a coach (Kova). It must be said, if you despise age gap romances that involve a 16 year old and a 32 year old, then this may not be the series for you.
When I first started this series, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I just thought I would sit down and read an angsty story. I had no idea this story would be so fucking consuming. I had no clue what I was in for. Now It's an endless array of cliffhangers and emotions. Of I can't waits and I need mores. Of Prayers and hopes that these two will finally find their happily ever afters.
I have to give a round of applause to Lucia Franco for making it possible to sit in one spot a read a six hundred page book in one day. She has a way with words. Every page ties up another piece of my heart and shaves off another sliver of my soul.
Overall, Twist was another great addition to the Off Balance series. I loved the angst, I loved the relationship, and I loved the impending doom that waits around every corner. I truly never knew what was going to happen next. Kova and Ria's story gets even better with every book published. But given that ending, I have no clue what is around the corner. But what I can say is my heart is in my throat. I need answers, and I need them now! So bottom line, if you love angsty love stories with a taboo vibe you should definitely pick this series up now and give it a read. Kova and Ria's story is one that will never be forgotten, that's for damn sure.

⭐️ 5+ "Tell Me You Love Me" Stars ⭐️
It’s been hours since I’ve read the very last line of Twist and I’m still not okay! That cliffhanger was so cruel and devastating!!! I’ve been thinking about this outstanding story all day long, obsessing over Ria and Kova! This fourth installment in the Off Balance Series is the best yet in my opinion! It’s saying something as the previous books were already phenomenal! Lucia Franco killed me and revived me time and time again during my read of this highly emotional and sexy taboo romance with the roller-coaster of feels!
Adrianna is so determined to reach her dream of being an Olympian. She has a lot of obstacles to surmount on a personal level to achieve her ultimate goal though. She’s careless with her decisions at times and certainly doesn’t have it easy! I felt she’s kind of denial of her tough situation and pushes herself to the limit leading her to some breaking moments! She made me cry and rage for her!
As much as I admire Adrianna and her tenacity, I feel that Kova is the highlight of this book! His transformation from harsh coach to devoted lover is marvellous and swoon-worthy! The Kova haters can’t deny his complete loyalty and powerful feelings for Ria now! I’ve been Team Kova since the very first book and it’s more than obvious now that there’s no other man for Ria than the sexy Russian. He’s the complete package and he finally opens up like never before. He’s completely vulnerable for Adrianna, proving to her his profound affection. I melted over his tender side and the sincerity of his feelings. That doesn’t mean that he’s all soft. Oh no! He’s still the same dirty talker with a possessive side.

I absolutely love the progression of Adrianna and Kova’s forbidden romance throughout the series! While at the beginning it was mostly based on a mutual physical pull, it’s now clear that they’re both into deep on an emotional level! This novel shows this couple being so in sync with each other at moments that it’s truly breathtaking! The way they understand and pushes each other is so inspiring!
The story progresses between poignant moments of true despair and goes to powerful instants of purely decadent pleasure. It’s filled with so many highs and lows! Kova and Ria are so passionate and so in love that nothing exists, sometimes making them more than reckless. They’re taking so many risks and I was constantly expecting for them to be caught together!
Twist gave me an amalgam of extreme sensations! I cried my eyes out over Adrianna’s fate, but also felt the rush of pure passion from her stolen moments with Kova. I also was left speechless over that sudden ending! It nearly killed me! I need Dismount ASAP! Twist is sincerely a mesmerizing romance of intense feelings that is at the top of my favorite reads in 2019!

After the last book I decided to give up on this story but seeing as I’ve got a free KU trial I thought I might as well read it.
This story is dragging on and on. There’s really no need for 5 books. There are pages and pages of gymnastic training it gets rather tedious.
Adrianna is now 17 and has discovered she has Lupus and Stage 4 Kidney disease. She needs dialysis urgently and a kidney transplant but instead decides to carry on training. It wasn’t pleasant reading how ill she felt during training.
Kova’s character changed in the last book and he’s now quite a soppy character.
They continue to have sex no matter how ill she feels! It was predictable what would happen near the end and then we’re left with another cliffhanger.
I just feel the author has made a mistake dragging this out over five books. It could very easily have been told over two books which I’m sure was the original plan.
I will probably read the final book now I’ve come this far but tbh I’m bored. I imagine in the final book Kova gives her his kidney and they live HEA?!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ +++ Stars! Reread 1st read November 21,2019. Had to since the final book was just released and how could I forget that cliffy? Phenomenal series!
Forbidden Romance. OMG, what the fuck did I just read! And a damn cliffy to go with it! Lucia! How could you do this to us? Fuck, I’m devastated! How long before we get the last book, because I’m dying here. This series is so freaking addictive, the angsts level in this one was over the top and on another level, this woman’s writing is phenomenal. Kova, you fuck, I knew this was going to happen. Poor Adrianna. I can’t wait for the next book. This series is crack, I tell you, pure gold. This series is for all the forbidden and taboo lovers out there, you know who you are. Bravo Lucia, bravo. I love this series!!! Fucking recommend.

The newest installment in Kova and Ria's epic journey SLAYED every inch of my soul and I am still trying to pick up the shattered pieces of my heart, even days after devouring all the words. Lucia Franco's unique storytelling ability has wholeheartedly stolen my breath away and I can't stop thinking about all those drama filled twists and turns that totally had me turned upside down. Just when I think things couldn't get any crazier, lets just say...MIND BLOWN! I guess by now I should be able to anticipate these unexpected moments, but I am still surprised every FREAKING time.
Twist was a beautifully captivating story and the perfect addition to the Off Balance series. My heart ached throughout Kova and Ria's journey. These two have had to endure some painful moments and just when I think things are FINALLY looking up for them, something happens and their backs are up against the wall. This incredible author managed to make me fall even deeper in love with these two and I didn't even think that was possible. Kova is my ultimate book husband (yep that's right, I am skipping right over book boyfriend mode because he's just so freaking dreamy). I have been #TEAMKOVA since the very beginning and now he has officially stolen every part of me!
This story was EVERYTHING and after that EPIC ending I can't wait to get my hands on Dismount, the final book in this UNBELIEVABLE series. Kova and Ria deserve their happily ever after and let us PRAY that they get that...because I don't think my heart could handle it if they don't. All I can say is that I hope the wait isn't TOO LONG because I don't know if I can take the suspense any longer...

Can we all just agree for once and for all that this is the best forbidden romance series ever written?

I’m absolutely stunned with that ending, and all i can think right now is that i wanna go lay on the floor and stare at a wall until the next (and final) book comes out, but instead for some reason i’m writing this review. Why? I don’t know cause I can’t process my own thoughts.
I’m absolutely terrified for what’s to come, please Lucia don’t make us suffer too much, we’ve already suffered enough!!
I’m gonna stop writing now cause this review can only go downhill given my current state of shock, but not without saying first that Kova is the best alpha male or whatever you wanna call it you’ll ever read about in your life. So go friggin read this book.

5+++ stars!!
I am emotionally wrecked!!! All I’ve done the last couple days is read this book. It’s my favorite book of 2019. This series is my addiction and I’ve loved every moment of it. My most anticipated book of 2020 is the 5th and final book, Dismount. My love for this series runs deep. I’ve never felt this way reading a series. Every single book is an emotional roller coaster and even when you’re not reading it it consumes your brain. You never know what’s going to happen and you will drive yourself crazy with predicting what may come next. If you are a lover of forbidden romance and soul mates going through hell for each other, this series is for you. Dare I say that Twist May be my favorite of the series??? It just may be. I need the next book!!!
