As someone who is working my way into a keto way of eating, I really appreciate having great tasting recipes that don't take forever to make. You probably have most of these ingredients in your kitchen already, with the exception of some staple foods, such as almond flour, swerve, (or whatever sweetener you use), arrowroot powder, etc. One of my favorites for breakfast is the Bacon and egg fritatta. It is super easy to make and super filling! The cauli mac and cheese is nice for dinner, and I don't get a ton of carbs like you would with the original dish. Plus, keto snickerdoodles! Heck yeah! If your looking for some tasty keto recipes, give this a try.
This was great for an overweight diabetic like me who does not like to cook! It helped me want to enjoy cooking again and helped me begin the journey of getting my family and I to eat healthy.
I've been doing keto for a while now and I've lost 10 kg and I feel better than ever. I've also combined keto with intermittent fasting skipping breakfast. This book has been very helpful especially in the beginning. When you find a routine then everything gets easier. I've also shared some of my favourite recipes on my website here: https://thefoodellers.com/en/ketogeni.... I hope this could help everyone else.
“This isn’t about eating trash. It’s about nourishing your body with exactly what it needs, and that includes your taste buds too,” Elizabeth Cunningham writes at the beginning of her book, Keto Diet Cookbook for Beginners: 550 Recipes for Busy People on Keto Diet.
~ What ~ This one-hundred-and-fifty-seven-page paperback targets those interested in making meals using the popular keto diet. After an introduction, explanation with tips of the diet, and the top ten keto recipes, the book is divided into nine sections, followed by a 14-day meal plan, topical index, and recipe index.
Containing five-hundred-and-fifty recipes, the nine sections are Smoothies/Breakfasts, Poultry, Pork/Beef/Lamb, Seafood/Fish, Meatless Meals, Soups/Stew/Salads, Side Dishes/Snack, Brunch/Dinner, and Desserts/Drinks. Without any photographs, each recipe has a title with preparation time, serving size, and nutritional facts of keto calories, fat grams, net carbs, and protein. Ingredients are listed in used order, and directions are in paragraph format.
~ Why ~ With the keto diet focusing on high fat and low carbohydrates, this book hones in on not using processed sugars. I appreciate the many recipes and their variations that offer a beginner to the diet plenty of meal choices. The beginning of the book has a lot of helpful information of what not and what to eat to maintain the diet.
Some of the interesting recipes that caught my eye are Italian Sausage Stacks, Coconut Flour Bagels, Poulet en Papillote, Turkey Enchilada Bowl, Pork Osso Bucco, Warm Rump Steak Salad, Salmon Panzanella, Coconut Cury Mussels, Walnut Tofu Saute, Cheesy Cauliflower Falafel, Power Green Soup, Green Mackerel Salad, Taco Lettuce Rolls, Spiced Gruyere Crisps, Egg in a Mug, Gingery Tuna Mousse, Blueberry Ice Pops, and Berry Merry.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not think a high-fat diet will help them lose weight or do not want to have their body experience ketosis, which could be dangerous for some people, may avoid this book. Others may not have some of the specialty ingredients such as Swerve sugar, almond flour, xanthan gum, erythritol, or seeded lychee pulp. There does not seem to be a pattern to how the recipes are displayed in some of the sections (example: drinks and food items are randomly mixed together).
~ Wish ~ Since I tend to eat a varied diet that is limited in carbs and salt intake, I did not learn anything new about the keto diet, yet I appreciated the abundance of recipes. Being a visual person, I wish there were colored photographs of all completed dishes.
~ Want ~ If you want are a beginner to the keto diet and do not know what to make for meals throughout the day, this is a nice starter cookbook that has plenty of tasty options.
Thanks to the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
I’ve been wanting to try the keto diet for a while, but I’ve been too nervous to start. I didn’t know what I’d cook and I thought I’d need special skills. This book solves that problem. There are a ton of really satisfying recipes in here. It feels like the perfect introduction to the keto diet concept and foods. All the recipes are easy to understand and easy to follow. There’ such a wonderful variety of ingredients in this book. There are things I’ve wanted to try for years—lamb and duck, for example—but I’ve never found even a small collection of recipes for them that appealed to me. There’s definitely something for everyone in here, adventurous types and kids and picky eaters and folks who don’t “diet.” I can see myself using this cookbook even when I entertain and when I cook for my family. I cannot wait to try everything in it!
3.5 Some of the ingredients are not keto friendly. Like Carrots and yogurt. But they are still doable just switch up the veggie or whatever. But from what I read these recipes are low carb which is great.
Best range of keto recipes I have seen so far. Also a lot of the recipes don't have a huge ingredients list which is great. A really helpful 2 week meal plan. My favourite keto book so far
Too many typos. An example: you put radishes in the oven and they come out parsnips! I had to laugh at that one but when you aren't told the measurement for something, what do you do? Wing it? I paid good money for this joke book. Lol. I guess this sounds harsh but really hate all the errors for the author.
