My Review:
This was only my second experience reading the prolific Lori Foster, but I plan to make perusing her engaging stories a frequent habit. I enjoyed her curiously endearing yet flawed characters as much as her compelling storylines with a heinous villain everyone had reason to revile and despise due to his repeated and unthinkable cruelty toward women, children, and animals. The overall emotional tone held a steady thrum of tension and sense of impending peril due to the lurking dangers that were constantly and incrementally building; yet there were also liberal sprinkles of levity, a blossoming romance, curiously tantalizing backstories, steamy sensuality, and captivating family drama interspersed throughout. I had not read the previous books in the series but I adored this extraordinary family and know I would enjoy going back to fully feast on their storylines as well.

All Fired Up by Lori Foster is the third contemporary romance book in the Road to Love series. It worked well as a standalone novel. The novel also has an extra layer of suspense in it so, to me, it falls into a version of a romantic suspense novel.
When Charlotte Parrish has car trouble, she is accosted by a drunk leaving a nearby bar. A stranger, Mitch Crew, comes to her rescue. He has come to town looking for his half-brothers who he has never met. When his past catches up with him and Charlotte and Mitch start falling for each other, the heat and the suspense builds to a satisfying conclusion.
Foster does a great job of building up to a steamy romance as well as plenty of suspense and action. The well-developed main characters are compassionate, strong and personable. Foster does a great job of including elements of a family drama in the book in addition to the romance and suspense. At times, it is steamy, heart-breaking, heart-warming, humorous, and tender.
I have only read one other book by this author, but I am looking forward to reading more. If you like a well-written romance with some suspense and family drama, then this may be the book you have been seeking. I definitely want to read the first two books in the series.

Read the first one and missed the second one. This was just ok. Charlotte and Mitch had some fireworks, but the bad guy stuff was just too drawn out. Plus I didn't like the on-again, off-again stuff with Ros and the boy's dad.

This was such a sweet, steamy, and suspenseful story. This is the third book in the series and works well as a standalone, however I wish I had read the previous books prior. Family plays such an important part in this book and I would have really appreciated really understanding and knowing the brothers in this book a little better. The book kicks off with Charlotte having car trouble and Mitch helping a girl out. There is a connection between the two when they meet, but it is complicated. Charlotte has been living with a family that treats her like their own, and Mitch has come to town looking to meet his half brothers technically making him part of this family. A tricky relationship to navigate. Also Midge has a bit of a past that seems to be catching up with him. A definite slow build will they? Won’t they?
I have to say the family in this story was fantastic my favorite part of the book. Loved this family, the mom was amazing and I loved how much all of these brothers cared for one another. They accepted Mitch so willingly and protected Charlotte so fiercely. Although occasionally they frustrated me with how much they were protecting Charlotte from Midge, but I understood. My only tiny complaint is the suspense in the story didn’t necessarily add much to the book. I would’ve probably liked more family time and more time with Charlotte and Midge together. All in all a sweet romance that made me smile.

ALL FIRED UP (Road to Love #3) by Lori Foster is a new contemporary romance with a suspense element in the Road to Love series. Even though this is the third book in the series, it is easily read as a standalone.
Charlotte Parrish was taken in and unofficially adopted by the Crews family when her mother passed away. The brothers have always treated her like their little sister. She gives as good as she gets while managing their office for them. Charlotte loves her job and the all the Crews, but when it comes to her dream man, she would prefer someone not attracted to danger, but someone she would not have to worry about on the job and wanting to settle down.
On the way home from a job delivering a dog to the shelter, Charlotte’s car gets a flat and leaves her stranded outside the local bar. When a drunken regular starts bothering her, a stranger appears out of the shadows and rescues her.
Mitch Crews has come to town to meet the half brothers he has never known. When he helps the stranded Charlotte, he has no idea his brothers are about to show up. He is immediately drawn to Charlotte’s kindness, sass and vulnerability and he knows she is too good for an ex-con like him.
When Mitch’s past comes looking for him, Charlotte and his new found family are in danger. Mitch will learn he is no longer alone and family fights together.
Charlotte and Mitch are wonderful characters that worked out to be perfect for each other. I do not feel they were exactly opposites, because in the end they really were looking for the same thing for their futures. This is a slow building romance even with the instant attraction. The sex scenes appear towards the end of the book and are explicit, but not gratuitous. Ms. Foster could not have made me happier with Mitch’s dog. I love my pitties and Brute was a great addition to the story.
This romance has a hero who really deserves a HEA, a heroine who is sweet and strong, a family that sticks together even as secrets are revealed and danger stalks them and lovable rescue dogs. I highly recommend this romance even without reading the first two in the series.

Hands down my favorite of the series, not just because I wanted Charlotte Parrish to get her story, but because Mitch Crews deserved a happily ever-after. I am a sucker for a hero who doesn’t know he’s worthy.
Mitch is a Crew and looks just like his Dad. He is also an ex-con, but he wants to meet his half-brothers and more than anything desires family. What he didn’t count on was Charlotte.
I loved this story from the way it unfolded to the way the Crews reacted to Mitch, especially Ros, their Mom. She is one heck of a woman. Mitch has an adorable puppy named Brute that you’ll soon be swooning over too! From brotherly talks to doggie introductions, I loved each encounter.
Trouble follows Mitch, and he’s willing to run to protect everyone, but if you’ve read the previous books you know the brothers, their wives, Mom and Charlotte will never allow it. Mitch the local police chief, Elliot their father and some locals all get involved.
Foster does a great job of sharing Mitch’s past, developing the relationship and building up the suspense angle. The connection between Charlotte and Mitch felt genuine and I couldn’t help but root for them.

Great characters although the family line was a bit intense. Needs more heat.

I had a few complex feelings about the story. It wasn’t like a love-hate scenario. I actually did enjoy the story.
After all who wouldn’t love showing up as a stranger and being excepted into a family immediately, no questions asked. Well, hardly any questions.
I love how calm and mellow Mitch is. But I felt his apprehension about being pushed so hard to accept and embrace the new family. Acceptance may be easy for some but not for others.
I love the easy build up between Charlotte and Mitch’s mutual attraction. I also understand the almost-brothers protection of Charlotte. But that protection also kept us waiting for quite a while as the build up continued throughout the story.
We like to be rewarded with the love and the romance as the story grows. I really felt that was lacking somewhat in this particular book. I just wanted more of them.
But Foster always writes great stories that leave you with a smile on your face and wanting more. And this one is no different. A beautifully written story with a bit of suspense, love, steam, and drama as only Foster can do.

All Fired Up by Lori Foster is the third book in the Road To Love series- and the first book by Lori Foster that I've personally read! I know- shame on me for not reading books 1 and 2 first, but it isn't necessary! (Though- I am looking forward to going back and discovering how Brodie and Jack met their current partners).
This novel follows Mitch Crews; an ex-con who is looking for a place to settle after spending the last few years in jail, and Charlotte Parrish; a hard-working young woman who is rescued by Mitch when her car leaves her stranded-without a ride. Mitch is in town to connect with the family who never knew he existed, and when his past comes back to haunt him he must work fast in order to protect all of those he's come to care about since his arrival.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this one-I must say! It had everything I look for in a contemporary romance! It was suspenseful, I really connected with the characters, and the romance was steamy, but it wasn't the only thing that this book had to offer! I can definitely see myself picking up more of this authors work in the future, and- if you're a fan of romance-I'd suggest you do the same!

I don't know why a romance needs almost 400 pages. A great epic romance, maybe, but this isn't a great epic romance. Maybe the justification is that there is a mystery/suspense element. Not much there either. I have loved Lori Foster's Buckhorn Brothers Series, Body Armor Series and others. So much so that she is an auto read for me. This series is making me rethink that. When you start skipping pages you really need to revaluate that and why you read an author.
Charlotte Parrish lost her parents as a teen and the Crews family took her in and loved her as their own. Ros Crews loved her like the daughter she never had and Brodie and Jack were her overprotective big brothers. Living with them she always knew she wanted someone steady and settled and was willing to wait for just the right guy to come alone, not to mention that Jack and Brodie scared all the wannabe boyfriends away.
Mitch Crews grew up hard, very hard. His mother was a drug addict, his father, Elliott Crews, never was around very much and his mother's boyfriend, Newman, was a mean SOB drug dealer who beat him for breathing. When he is released from prison his mom had died of an overdose and the city wanted to raze her house. Time to move on and Mitch decided to find his half-brothers. Brothers who didn't know he existed.
When Charlotte meets Mitch, well so much for wanting steady and settled. Hot and exciting is what Mitch is, but most important, he needs a lot of compassion that Charlotte is more than willing to supply. When trouble follows Mitch to Red Oak, he learns the true meaning of family.

Okay, so here’s the thing, I don’t know if it’s me or what but every time I pick up a Lori Foster book lately I feel like it’s soooooooooo long and with no reason to be. If you’re going to drag a romance story, it should probably drag in the romance department *shrug* This one did not. So again I find myself not exactly dissatisfied with the story, but certainly not excited either. Maybe I’m changing, I don’t know, but facts:
The suspense portion of this book was eye-rolling at best..
The family plot point was exciting and heartwarming
The inner monologues were excessive. STOP THINKING AND JUST DO. I like my stories to be interactive, not introspective. *shrug*
The romance journey was lacking. Severely.
I’m not giving up on reading Lori Foster, but I think maybe I need a break …

The inner monologues were excessive. STOP THINKING AND JUST DO. I like my stories to be interactive, not introspective. *shrug*

Lori Foster brings all of her best writing traits to the table in All Fired Up; a bad boy hero who is really a great man, a feisty heroine who proves she is so much stronger than most give her credit for, a tantalizing plot filled with family secrets, love, and a bit of suspense to keep everyone on their toes.
Charlotte Parrish wants nothing more than to find a man who will treat her right and be by her side through good times and bad someone like her pseudo brothers who she works for in the family business. When Mitch Crews steps in to help her with a problem, she is instantly intrigued and then finding out he is the half brother of her bosses, she knows she definitely doesn’t have any brotherly feelings towards him. But, Mitch has a past that’s not so pretty and he feels that Charlotte deserves more than an ex-con in her life. Her acceptance of him throws him for a loop and soon he begins to see that she is a very special woman indeed.
I loved everything about this book and yes the romance was huge; it played out perfectly for this couple, but this was about so much more than just them. This book was about family, acceptance, and people being kind, decent human beings. Mitch is thrown into confession almost at the start of this book that he is the product of an affair that Brodie and Jack’s dad had with his mom, but what he didn’t expect was the outright acceptance into their lives and into their mother’s life. Roz, I can’t say enough about momma Roz, because she is an amazing woman who raised amazing men and took in Charlotte when her mother passed away, but when she fully and completely accepted Mitch as part of the family I wanted to weep.
While yes Mitch is an ex-con the circumstances in what happened were not wholly his own fault and it was easy to see that he was a good man. Unfortunately the man his mother had been involved with and the man that got him sent to prison was not a good guy and wants nothing more than to get to Mitch for a bit of payback.
There are a few surprises in this book that intrigued me and I have to say I loved the way this family rolled with the various things thrown at them throughout this story, it just goes to prove that together they can work through anything.
From start to finish I was thoroughly engaged and immersed in All Fired Up making it impossible to put down and one I know I will enjoy again and again.

Mitch has been looking for his half brothers and he has finally found them. Having finally found them, he then approaches them. Mitch hasn't been able to picture the reaction they will have when they discover that he is their half-brother. Mitch gets far more than he expected. He meets their mother, a wonderful woman, and he meets Charlotte. She is perfect, wonderful and sweet. However, he is an ex-con and knows for sure that he is the last man on earth for her.
Mitch must contend with his new family in this delightful third book in the Road to Love series. However, far more is at stake. The story has a bit of danger that affects Mitch. While this is worked out, there is a twist to this story that I truly enjoyed. Also, as has been the case in this delightful series, we have another terrific character, and that is Mitch's dog, Brute. I love it when Lori Foster includes dogs in her books as they always add a special touch.
The first books in this series are Driven to Distraction and Slow Ride. I loved each and every book in this series. The protagonists in each case are perfect for each other. Furthermore, the strong family vibe that is present in each book is absolutely wonderful. Having read about sixty of Ms. Foster's books, I have always walked away with a smile. I cannot wait to see what else she has in store.

This is the third book in the series. I think it is my favorite so far. This is Mitch and Charlotte's story. Charlotte was raised as one of the family but is not. Mitch was raised away from the rest of the Crews family but he most definitely is one of the family. Together, they are willing to tread so new waters.
This book all comes back to what makes us family. Mitch's half brothers welcome him like he was never out of their lives. They all protect Charlotte and their mom like they are treasures. Lots of secrets came out in this one. Making new family memories going forward is the plan.

I loved Mitch and Charlotte’s story! It’s my favorite in the Road to Love series. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about this book. I loved Charlotte’s innocence and her love of family. I loved the way the rest of the family rallied around Mitch, especially since his expectations were so much different. I loved that even though Mitch had a very rough start in life, he was a very honorable and stand up guy. As with the previous books, animals, especially dogs, play an important part in their lives.

All Fired Up by Lori Foster is the third book in the Road to Love series. I never read the previous books in the series; however, I had no difficulty following the story. It can be read as a stand-alone.
The hero of this story, Mitch Crews, had a hard life. Recently released from prison, he was determined to turn his life around, and in the process locate his half-brothers, Brodie and Jack. He had no idea what to expect when he found them, however their reaction to his revelation was more than he ever imagined. Their warm welcome and their desire to embrace as family blew him away. However, after years of neglect, he had a hard time accepting the warm embrace of a family. Then there was Charlotte who blew into his life like a whirlwind. She made him feel things he never thought possible, but he did not believe he was worthy to be with her because of his past. To make matters worse, trouble from his past followed, and he was determined to protect everyone single handily, but his newfound family had other ideas.
All Fired Up was a story of forgiveness, healing, love, acceptance and second chances. I enjoyed spending time Mitch and his new family. I loved how they accepted him, no questions asked.
Charlotte was a feisty character with a caring and compassionate heart. She did not judge Mitch based on his past. She accepted him for who he was and tirelessly tried proving to him that he was so much more than his past.
I liked that I got the chance to delve into Mitch and Charlotte’s past. I thought they made a great couple, and I wanted them to get their HEA. I loved how the romance developed, slow and genuine.
I enjoyed the interaction between the characters. Funny and emotional.
The build up to suspense angle wreaked havoc on my nerves. I kept wondering when the villains would strike, where they would strike, and who would be their first target.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall, I enjoyed this installment. I intend to read the previous books, as I am keen to learn more about Jack and Brodie.

I may do a longer review another day. But this one was one that I thought I would like more but somethings just took it down for me. I didn't like the mother of the brothers due to the whole thing with her and the ex husband and how they end up back together. I also didn't like the wife Ronnie taunting the bad guy like she only will handle it and felt it was a TSTL moment by her. Handling yourself is one thing when in trouble but to do what she did and it wasn't her fight just made me roll my eyes and want to say sit your a$$ down somewhere please. The heroine had moments she annoyed me too. The family was all super pushy and nosy as hell including the heroine. So this took my enjoyment level down with all said. I just felt like I would have liked it more but the things that annoyed me I just couldn't ignore.

After a messed up childhood and a stint in prison, Mitch has been busy establishing his new business and moving into new house, all with the end goal of introducing himself to his half siblings. Mitch’s plans derail after he finds his attention snagged by Charlotte as he comes to her unneeded rescue outside the local bar. He inadvertently meets his brothers, Brodie and Jack, and their mom, Rosalyn, sooner then planned when they also show up to help Charlotte out.
I enjoyed Mitch and Charlotte’s story. They fit like puzzle pieces. Mitch was cautious and wary of anything resembling happy, but his protectiveness overruled those feelings time and time again. Charlotte was a joyful ray of sunshine that found Mitch flourishing under, even when he was leery of his chance at happiness. Charlotte may not have been as tough as Mary or Ronnie, but she could hold her own when necessary. She was a nurturing homebody with protective instincts towards those she loved,including Mitch.
All Fired Up, book 3 in the Road To Love series, was my favorite of the three. There was a grittier edge and an emotional rawness the first two books didn’t have which I think was due to Mitch’s background. That’s not to say the story was all dark because it wasn’t. The Crew family also gave plenty of love, practicality, and united support, with comic relief moments thrown in for good measure.

What a fantastic, emotional book this is. I absolutely loved it and was really absorbed from page one until the end. I really felt for Mitch, he had such a horrible childhood. Love how honest he is, and how much he really wants Charlotte. Can he really open up to his half brothers, when will he realize he’s no longer alone? Can he keep everyone safe from Newman? The book did keep me on edge. I especially love the sense of family and how much Mitch needed it. I loved each book in this series and it’s still easy to follow if you missed the first two books. Loved the updates on prior characters. I received an advanced readers copy through NetGalley and I highly recommend this book.

All Fired Up just might be my favorite of the Road to Love series! I loved Mitch so much. And Charlotte finally got to show everyone how amazing she was. (I'm pretty sure the other characters already knew, but I didn't know!)
There was a lot of strong family ties in this one, but there was also love and romance, and some acute danger to make things more real. And the danger really had me on the edge of my seat for the whole novel!
Foster took two characters who somehow thought they didn't measure up, and when they met each other they realized that the reason why other relationships in their lives didn't work was mostly because those relationships weren't with the right person.
Mitch and Charlotte were both very strong characters - but in very different ways. I loved seeing both of them become more confident in areas where they needed it. And I enjoyed seeing how the other characters from prior novels in the series dealt with everything that was going on.

Wow!!! Very well written, romantic suspense. Love Mitch & Charlotte, this just flows so well that it kept me glued to the pages and just seems real. The characters have depth and the plot is not rushed. They are totally opposite yet still have some similarities, Mitch is a loner by choice, Charlotte is a loner by lack of chance. He is all alpha yet she is feisty and bold enough to stand up to him. I haven't read any of the others in this series yet but LOVE this loving, compassionate, forgiving and loyal family circle! Very touching & suspenseful story which made me laugh, almost cry and rejoice. I received an advance review copy via NetGalley at no cost and without obligation from the author.

So glad to get to read Charlotte's story. I have always loved her in the other two books in this series! This book was such a good story of love, family and acceptance. Mitch swoops in to help Charlotte when she is stranded one night..While trying to help Brodie and Jack show up than their mom Ros. While there Mitch did not want it to go down like this but he tells them that he is their brother. Feeling they would react with denial it goes totally different for Mitch! While he is learning family and lusting for Charlotte a dark force from Mitch's past comes to find him. There are lots of twists and turns that had me holding my breath a couple times. It is so wonderfully written that you are rooting for all the family! It was good to see how they came together to help Mitch and how Mitch finally accepts them as family!

Many times heroes of romance are larger than life characters. Nothing wrong with that. We all need those characters to fuel our fantasies sometimes. But it takes real talent to make the lives of ordinary people not only interesting but extraordinary. That’s what Lori Foster achieves with her Road to Love series. Especially in her newest, All Fired Up. This series is filled with vivid characters and honest, believable relationships. Men who are good men. Rock solid, honest, down to earth, and formidable. And women who are fearless, proud, and loyal.
Mitch Crews has had a hard life. After spending 5 years in prison, he’s ready to meet the brothers who don’t even know he exists. He’s on the road to making changes in his life. While he knew exactly what he wanted to say and do, he wasn’t ready for the way the entire Crews family would make him feel. The patience, understanding, compassion, and loyalty of this family was something he’d rarely experienced in life. Nor was he ready for Charlotte Parrish. Someone who not only accepted him but saw the best in him. Made him feel like a different person. With her, he was less angry at the world and at himself. More optimistic about the future. Finally, he was starting to know what “home” felt like. But when Mitch’s past comes back to haunt him, threatening his new life and all those he cares about, he learns that family means he doesn’t have to go it alone. Because the Crews are big on family and big on protection.
This series just gets better and better and Mitch is the perfect addition to the Crews family. I liked how his background unfolded gradually as he learned to trust and opened up to his brothers and Charlotte about his past. His jaded background and Charlotte’s innocence seemed like an unlikely pair but I soon realized how perfect they were for one another. Each one has their own personality and together they’re hilarious and so much fun to read about. Every page of this story will keep readers riveted with its humorous, heartwarming, emotional and intense story proving that the road to love can have lots of detours but you’ll never be lost if you follow your heart. Satisfying romance…
I know when I read anything by this author, the story will be well written with all the elements of a classic romance. If that sounds negative at all then I’m saying it wrong because what that means is well-developed characters, intriguing circumstances and heat and drama to spare…
Charlotte and Mitch’s story had all those things as they met by accident but soon found themselves falling in love while family drama raged around them. They were easy to like as they laughed and argued while on a roller coaster ride of revelations and this thing called life. Being surrounded by family meant lots of laughter, tears and danger thrown in for good measure.
This is a standalone but I wished I’d read the previous stories just to understand more how this family came to be. I will definitely be going to back to find out!

I love Lori Foster but somehow fell behind on reading this series from her. I am so glad I picked this one up and loved it! I definitely need to go back and read the first two books because I loved both Brodie and Jack in this one. Honestly, I have to say I loved all the characters in this book. Mitch stole my heart, Charlotte was charming and you just have to love Jack and Brodie's mom.
It was a pleasure watching Charlotte's and Mitch's relationship develop as he learns to adjust to having a new family and how to trust others to have his back. There are great moments of tenderness, laughter and sizzling chemistry. Not to mention some utterly adorable dogs that I wish I could meet in person.
This book will totally suck you in and keep you glued to the pages until the very end.

I'm really enjoying this Road to Love Series, and this book has to be my favorite installment so far. The characters from all of the books have been great, but there was just something so lovable about both main characters, Charlotte and Mitch, in this one!
Watching Charlotte and Mitch get to know one another was wonderful, but my favorite part of this book is the way the Crews family so readily accepted Mitch into their fold. He was so prepared for them to reject him, and it was heartwarming to see them pull him right into the family. His astonishment at this was understandable and cute.
I found both the characters and storyline to be charming. My interest was held throughout the book, and I liked the way all aspects of the storyline played out. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy.
Watching Charlotte and Mitch get to know one another was wonderful, but my favorite part of this book is the way the Crews family so readily accepted Mitch into their fold. He was so prepared for them to reject him, and it was heartwarming to see them pull him right into the family. His astonishment at this was understandable and cute.
I found both the characters and storyline to be charming. My interest was held throughout the book, and I liked the way all aspects of the storyline played out. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy.
