The Descendants #1

Shared By The Four

Four magical protectors should be enough for any gal, right?

I’m just an ordinary college girl, majoring in art history, but there’s this one guy in a few of my classes that just won’t leave me alone. You know, the kind of guy that won’t take no for an answer.

Fortunately, I’ve just met four mysterious brothers at an art gallery that might be the magical answer to my problems.

They’re all strong, gorgeous, rich and gifted in their own ways and, in love with me. I couldn’t possibly choose between them and luckily they don’t want me to.

Trouble is, my stalker’s not very ordinary himself.

My four magical lovers might not be enough to protect me and I can’t stand the thought of losing even one of them, knowing it would be my fault.

Publisher’s note: this is a reverse harem which involves brothers, which may be off-putting to some readers. If this is the case, please check out Jade’s other reverse harem stories or her bear shifter fated mates series, Special Bear Protectors.

Just no!

I honestly hate the main character so much I couldn’t go on. Everything about her irritated me, from her randomly leaving her lipstick on her pillow to her outfit to the stupid way she’s describing her “tough” walk. Her personality is seemingly self-absorbed while simultaneously denigrating college guys for being self-absorbed. Usually, a questionable character has about 30 pages to annoy me to the point of giving up. She lasted less than three.

Quite interesting

This was an interesting read. There were a few things that happened that I wasn’t expecting and it was a neat twist having the wolves being able to use magic as well. Nice twist.

Selena Brock had walked out without her lipstick and now had to work with the fussy lock to get back into the dorm room to get it! She didn’t want to be late for the Asher Quinn gallery opening. Her major was Art History because she wanted to write books about art or perhaps teach. Asher Quinn was a favorite contemporary artist and was writing a paper on him. This was her opportunity to see his work in real life rather than off the computer screen. As she walked across campus, it was very quiet and she heard footsteps stealthily following her. She spun around and demanded the person show themselves. Somehow she recognized Aiden, who was in some of her classes and persistently asked her out. She would never date him, but he never took the hint. He insisted on walking her but she didn’t want him ruining her evening at the gallery. She had lied and said she was going to the library – he waited outside 15 minutes to make sure she was really there to work.

Asher was a confident person, but when it came to his art, he could be a bit sensitive, so opening night at the gallery could make him nervous. His brothers were also sensitive when it came to their artistic passions -- Ben was sensitive about his music, Carter felt strongly about his dance, and Damien was most sensitive of all about his writing. They are serious about the arts that are part of their lives! Asher’s exhibit tonight was called Wolf Series and was deeply personal to him. His brothers assured him no critic would see it and decide he was a wolf shifter wizard. He agreed that made sense, so Wolf Series was on display.

All was going well when Asher felt a strong pull to return to the Main Gallery. Using telepathy, he asked Damien if he had felt the pull – he had. Asher told him to tell the others to stay alert while he checked it out. Selena was taking a second look at the exhibit while a man pretended he knew all about the meaning of the art, and she muttered, “Give me a break”. A man standing near her agreed and she had the strongest reaction to him! All night she felt something important was coming – and she knew the important thing had to do with this man! He asked if she liked the painting, and she responded that her theory was that the wolves in the paintings are portraits of someone – and the Red Wolf she would guess is a self-portrait! The man behind her was astonished and speechless, then told her he had painted it. He telepathically called his brothers and Selena felt a strong attraction to all of them. She actually identified their scents, even though three of them were not wearing any kind of cologne! The brothers excused themselves for a short time which let her gather her senses again. But then she saw Aiden coming down from the second floor! She knew he was stalking her and it frightened her as she headed for the back alley to escape him. When she spotted him, she turned toward the front, screaming help-help-help in her head.

The brothers had been stopped by a reporter who wanted to schedule a time for an interview with all of them. Damien heard help-help-help and knew Selena was in trouble. The others also heard the voice and smelled her fear. Ben grabbed Asher while Carter stayed with Selena. As Ben was telling Aiden to leave her alone, Carter felt the magic from Aiden aimed at Ben. He pulled up his own magic, shoved Ben over and grabbed Aiden, burning his shirt. Aiden had enough power to shove Carter back two steps, despite his being a strong shifter and a wizard – then Aiden stormed out. If there hadn’t been a crowd around, this could have turned ugly. Where would this situation lead? The brothers were compelled to find out if Selena was indeed their shared mate. And it was obvious Aiden not only had wizard powers but would not back off from his obsession. There was going to be a huge confrontation ahead. Could the guys keep Selena safe until this all played out?

This is an enjoyable, exciting read. The story line is fast-paced and well-written, filled with magic and paranormal action. The more you continue reading, the more the story line pulls you in and holds your attention. The character development was done very well, allowing the reader to get to know each one, and to know what to expect from them in the trials that are coming. There are surprises as well! The story line was good and the fast pace kept the reader fully engaged at all times. I definitely recommend this book!

Generously giving this 3 stars.
Read with Kindle Unlimited.
This was an ok book. It held my attention enough to finish with no thoughts of quitting. This being 180 pages, read pretty fast, & felt sort of like a novella. I liked that it was stand-alone, not a series, but because of that stand-alone fact, the character development was very light because there were 4 MMC to the 1 FMC making up the reverse harem. I never really got to like or care about all of them in general -because of them not being developed more. The reverse harem theme was not over the top like some RH stories get (all partners in the harem involved with the sex scenes), this was more of one on one action, never multiple partners involved, which I actually liked better. I wish there had been more slow burn into the "love" for the harem, instead of the "insta-love" typical for shifters. There wasn't a whole lot of world building, but to be fair, I don't feel the world building was as important for this story. The plot had some moments that wavered a bit off kilter, leaving things feeling wrong in places. The bad guy was odd, I felt more justification was needed for him being the villain than was shown to the reader, nothing really solid to explain his fascination with Selena & the 4 wolves, & who he was in general. Hints of things were presented for all sorts of things in the story but never really explained, from how these wolves were also wizards, or how their mate bond thing worked between the brothers other than some prophecy, or how the villain had so much power, to how the villain planned to take power from Selena when she had none to start with. To add more to this story & clean up all the loose ends, would have went a long way to the quality & rating this book got from me. My over all thoughts on the story, it's not one I would re-read, but it passed the time & didn't leave me angry that I spent time reading it.

Jade Alters brings to us a tale of four brothers, all wolf-shifters, who found their mate in a graduate student who was doing a paper on one of them. Selena, herself, was being pursued by another wizard, whose intentions were selfish and impure.
Except for giving into a much-needed sleep, I could not put the book down, it was that good.

I loved that Jade Alters was able to bring to us, readers, the love of the brothers for one another, for their clan—how they felt each other’s pain, how they cherished each other to the point where, if it were the real world, they would be outcasts for flouting convention in the way they expressed their love.

I thank Jade for allowing me to read an unedited version of Asher, Ben, Damien, Cater and Selena’s story, "Shared by the Four." Wolves have a strong emotional connection to their pack mates, and Jade Alters portrayed this in this particular ménage, where everyone took care of everyone else, not just Selena, and while some might balk at the emotional and physical closeness of the brothers, all I can say is, the characters are wolves, after all, and it is in their nature to act that way.

So I say, bravo, Jade Alters, for this wonderful story!

Another great book by Jade Alters, this time featuring one independent sassy Art History Major Selena and four intelligent, sexy, rich brothers, that happen to be both wolf shifters and wizards.
I loved the characters, and the way the relationships developed between Selena and the four wolf shifter Quinn brothers. I’m not surprised that Selena couldn’t choose between the four brothers, Asher, the eldest brother and therefore Alpha is a contemporary artist, Ben, Asher,s Second who is a musician, Carter a ballet dancer and Damien a writer. Its at an art gallery opening of Asher Quinn’s latest ‘Wolf Series’ paintings that the five meet, and also discover that Aiden a fellow student of Selena’s who has been stalking her is actually a powerful wizard himself.
Selena is drawn towards each of the brothers and soon learns that they are a clan of wolf shifters and also have magic. The plot is fast moving and I was hooked from page one, and didn’t see the twist towards the end of the book coming, it does have a happy ending though. As always once I’ve finished a book by Alters, I’m already looking forward to her next one.

Once again, this author has written an excellent, emotional shifter reverse harem romance. The characters are impressive and engaging with individual personalities with attributes of determination. The plot is well-thought-out & written with splendid scene descriptions & unexpected events.
There is: a feisty independent female art history student (Selena Block), the four male wolf shifter wizards who get involved with her (Asher, Carter, Damien & Benjamin), a fellow student & malevolent wizard turned stalker (Aiden), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, mystery, magic, adventure, action, danger, threats, evil, fantasies, verbal conflict, memories, verbal banter, a art show, strange attractions, curiosity, suspicions, myths, a unpleasant surprise, disbelief, confrontation, protectiveness, flirting, verbal banter, classes, dismay, defiance, verbal aggression, unusual reactions, magical spells, traps, confusion, devious plans, attempted resistance, rescued, passion, happiness, love, steamy scenes & a epilogue.
I really enjoyed reading this reverse harem shifter romance & would recommend it to people who like to read this genre.

Selena is a college student and is interested in art. She goes to an opening at a gallery for Asher Quinn. She loves his work and is surprised to find that he is standing right beside her. There's an instant connection between them and Asher feels like he knows her from somewhere. He immediately sends a telepathic message for his brothers to joined him. When they do they also feel the same connection. Selena is scared because she has a stalker following her and getting her where abouts from her friends. She can't seem to get him to understand that she isn't interested. So the Quinn brothers step in and help her. But they are fighting a powerful wizard and even though they are shifters/wizards themselves they need Selena in order to fight back. Will they be able to take down the threat and claim their mate?

This is a great story that will captivate you from the first page. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Should be better noted on info page.

Book could have been written a little better. More action or emotion or something. It just went to kinda dull. It was a ok read. The thing that bothers me the most was that the note that the publisher left should have been. A h*ll of a lot clearer. It says
Publisher’s note: this is a reverse harem which involves brothers, which may be off-putting to some readers. If this is the case, please check out Jade’s other reverse harem stories or her bear shifter fated mates series, Special Bear Protectors.
Well the reverse harem the "this is a reverse harem which involves brothers, which may be off-putting to some readers" part made it seem like the guys the MFC falls for are all brothers and that might be upsetting. No what it should have said is that there is MM )which means man on man) that is brothers (blood related brothers). Didnt find out untill the book was almost over that it contained it. Im good with MM action just not MM that are blood related. Publisher needs to rewrite their note so other people can know ahead of time.

Selena goes to a gallery opening and encounters the four Quinn brothers.
Selena plans to enjoy an evening out at an opening of an exhibition by her favorite artist Asher Quinn but on her way out she is harassed by Aiden who seems to stalk her every move but she manages to lose him. Once at the Gallery she indulges in the visual delights of his Wolf Series especially the one entitle Red Wolf. A man stands behind her and when they talk she realizes he is the artist himself. Asher and his brothers Daniel, Carter and Ben are wizards and wolf shifters so when they sense something unusual in the air and separate to find it. Asher is drawn to a young woman looking at his Red Wolf painting and is soon introducing her to his brothers who are all feeling the pull towards her.She is both dazzled and attracted to these four good looking men and as they talk Aiden appears at the Gallery. An exciting story of magic and shifters to relax and enjoy.

This is my first book by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really good.
Selena Brock is a student majoring in art history when she gets a chance to go to an art exhibit by her favorite painter, Asher Quinn when she finds herself drawn to him in a way she’s never felt before. The brothers, being half werewolf, half wizard; Asher, Benjamin, Damien and Carter Quinn spend all their time together, so it’s no surprise they are all there for Asher’s art exhibit where they run into Selena and begin to feel the magical pull towards her that signals her as their pack mate. Meanwhile a classmate, and another wizard, Aiden has been quietly stalking Selena since he wants her for himself. When Aiden begins to see Selena and the brothers growing closer, he tries one last time to keep her for himself, but at what cost? Will Selena and the brothers be able to stay together? Or will Aiden be able to take her away from the brothers forever?

I read the ARC that was released before the edited ARC, there was a lot of controversy with incest. With the way the story was written and the type of story I dont see what the big issue was.
Selena is at USC and attends a art gallery exhibit which she is excited about because the artist is Asher Quinn. He is one of four wolf shifter-wizard brothers.
When they meet they have this strange connection that they don't understand, well not right away. The other brothers can feel it too and they think she is their mate, a mate hasn't been found in almost a century.
But there is someone who stands in their way but why?
As for the incest part, I found it beautiful... now if it wasn't a PRN I'd have to think on why they are together. It's not like it was a parent/child thing.
Maybe I just have a more open mind.

I own this ebook, but I actually listened to the audio book which was a gift from the author. Selena is a college girl who has a frat boy stalking her. She manages to sneak by him to make it to the gallery opening of one of her favorite artists. When she starts a conversation with a man while admiring one of the paintings she discovers she is talking to the artist. When his three brothers show up she is surprised to find that she really likes them all. Ashley, the artist. Ben, the musician. Carter, the dancer. Damien, the writer. They all call to her for some reason. When her stalker, Aiden, shows up at the gallery they all jump to get rid of him.

The Quinn's are wolf shifters and they are also wizards and they recognize that Aiden is also a wizard. They also know that Selena is their mate and they will do anything to protect her. Aiden's magic is strong and they still have to work together to save their mate and ensure their futures.

Pleasure to read

I loved reading this novel on several levels. First, it is super to read several books of this good author and see her writing improve greatly in her first four. Her characters and plot have gotten exponentially better from book to book. Her title on Taming Her Bears was great with suspense and danger around every wave of the sea around Alaska - her bear shifters as Coast Guard team and her sex as good as ever.
This book, however, broke new ground with Salena as a graduate student at University and her guys as Wolf shifters all with international talent in art, music, dance and writing. And all four with Wizardry talents as well to help defeat a Wizard hard ass evil guy too. The sex is more refined and bisexual (tastefully) and dispersed throughout the intriguing tale altogether quite entertaining and stimulating at once. This author is exceptional - must be multiple orgasmic and have some good teachers - perhaps in groups

Jade Alters wrote another great story with enough differences to keep me interested till the end. First off, she wrote about four wolf shifter brothers; Asher, Carter, Ben and Damien who are wizards and each work in the creative fields. They are supportive and are endearing plus romantic. Then we have Selena a graduate student majoring in Art history is writing a paper on Asher Quinn who's a well-known artist, so she goes to a showing and meets Asher and his brothers. They have a instant connection and they remember a story their grandmother told them about "shared mates". They feel she could be their shared mate, but Selena has a stalker -Aiden. Can they persuade Selena to be their mate? There's a background story of the Quinn's life which makes us root for their happiness, and a battle to rescue Selena. Overall a well written story that I enjoyed reading and reviewing. ARC

I always enjoy Jade Alters stories, but this one would have to be my favourite, taking over from her previous book Mated to Team Shadow. I really enjoyed the whole prophecy of a clan mate for the Quinns. The addition of wizards and vampires into the mix of shifters was interesting too, if shifters are a thing, why wouldn't the other Paranormal creatures be too. I loved the connection the 5 characters had and enjoyed how they managed to work it all out between them. It had some twists, especially the character of Aiden and his true nature, he was one creepy guy. There is a scene near the end that did shock me a bit, that's not to say I didn't enjoy it immensely, all the sex scenes were very hot. I really can't wait to see what Jade writes next.

What a fabulous story! I loved Selena and her big heart. She loved art history and one day wanted to write about art. She was enamored with Asher Quinn's art and met him and his brothers when she attended one of Asher's Gallery showings. Of course once the guys scented her, they knew she is their mate. She had a stalker who made her uncomfortable and is a real danger to her. Add to that lots of action, steam, magic and some danger and you have the building blocks for a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed how all the parts of this story came together , how the connection between them grew and how different each of the brothers were in the personalities and in their professions. Also, as their past was revealed throughout the story, you learn a great deal about what made them the way they were They really have to work for their HEA but it was definitely well deserved and worth waiting for.

This has to be one of my favorite stories so far once I started I just couldn’t put it down. Selena, Asher, Cater, Ben, Damien make quite the foursome, Selena is an art major and goes to an art gallery show but on her way there she feels someone is following her and finds its Aiden the guy that’s been harassing her for a date. Once she ditches him and makes to the gallery she meets Asher Quinn and the pull to one another was off the charts and when all the brothers come together to meet Selena they know that she is theirs and she in turn is having a hard time trying to focus with all these dirty hot feelings for all the Quinn brothers running around in her head. You have got to read this book it’s amazingly written and draws you in right off the bat.

This was a great story, right from the first page! I really like Selena and her desperate attempts to avoid her stalker and keep her head down into her art studies. Upon getting a chance to see her favourite artist's showing, she ends up catching and keeping the attention of artist and werewolf mage, Asher....and his three brothers ;) I love how we get to see each brother's creativity and personality, both individually and as a group. Selena really can't help but fall and fall hard. Her stalker, however, was not so cool about their budding relationship and took shocking steps to try and thwart it. He was beyond creepy and the twist of his true nature really amped up the yuck factor. We get some great steamy scenes in this story, some serious violence and a wonderful connection that leads to love. Well done, Ms. Alters in writing such a gripping story!

Instalove

Not going to lie, this was really disappointing. I found the whole thing to be underwhelming. The FMC tried really hard to be a tough chick but she was really just kind of wimpy. The instalove was ridiculous. Seriously, there are TV dinners out there that take longer to cook than it took them to start dropping the L word. The bad guy went from a sorta creepy frat dude to let-me-lock-you-in-my-sex-dungeon in a matter of like 2 chapters. No good reason was ever given for his attacks against the guys. So he's old and just really hates wolves?

Anyway, I can't really recommend this. But I'm still giving the book a solid 3 stars because the writing was fairly clean with few typos and there actually was a plot. If you're looking for a quick RH read with some instalove, maybe this will suffice?

Magic and Shifters, Oh My!

Four wizard wolf brothers all falling for one mate, what's a girl to do? In my opinion, consider herself lucky. Okay, joking aside, if your into MFM, you're going to love this book. I know I did. I'm not going to go into details and spoil the story. However, I will say that there is a plot twist that you'll never see coming, which I love because I can usually see those things coming a mile away. I also loved how Selena came into her own and stood up for herself even though she had four big strong alpha males ready and willing to do it for her. I also loved the way the brothers supported her growth by fighting their own protective instincts. In doing so, they became not four, but five.

I loved that Selena met them through her love of art. Selena was strong and intelligent and I loved that she was okay wanting what she wanted. I also was very happy that she didn't run when she found out about the brothers. Asher, Ben, Damien and Carter were each amazing in their own right and together you could tell how much they loved each other. There was not fighting among them over Selena they just kind of accepted their destiny. I am glad they each had their own thing with Selena both interests and chemistry. I am glad that Aiden got what he deserved. I also really love when there is an epilogue to get just a little more and this epilogue definitely made me smile.

Selena was in college and was being stalked by Aiden, he always seemed to be there. She was going to Asher Quinns art exhibit and was really excited, once there she was looking at the Red Wolf series and absolutely loved it and next she knew Asher was standing next to her and talking to her. She was then surrounded by all the brothers and Aiden was there hiding in the room. The brothers took care of Aiden but they didn't want Selena out of their site. So every day she was always surrounded by them and loving them as they were all different in the own way. Selena is the mate to all of the brothers and in the mist of every thing the true love they held made them defeat Aiden in the end.

This book is heavy charged in emotions. Many different emotions: love, passion, adoration but also fear, anger, deviousness and wicked doing. Selena is passionate about art and history of art. She is strong and compassionate, ready to fight for her love. 4 shifter brother are cherry on the cake; yummy, loving, protective, devoted. And that’s not all, they are also using magic. What more would you ask for? Sexy and steamy scenes: check. Brave heroine: check. Dangerous protagonist: check. Good looking guys: check. Wonderful plot and story: check. Me finishing this book in the middle of the night because couldn’t put it down before last page: check.

Shared by the Four by Jade Alters

This was a very interesting book, it kind of shocked me in parts I have to say. The storyline was exciting and entertaining. I loved all the characters, they were all different and unique in their own way. The relationship between them all was sweet and the chemistry was plain to see. I don’t want to give away too much, but the romance between them was unusual and a taboo situation, but I will leave it at that and let everyone decide for themselves. I rate this book 3.5 stars. A copy was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book with my honest opinion.

This is definitely one of those happily ever after stories. But in a twist there are four hellacious gorgeous looking men who are at least over a century years old. The story takes place in California where there are already a lot of weird people anyway. But between having four gorgeous men making love to their female mate, oh did I not say anything about the men are four absolutely stunning wolf shifters with a twist. The twist you need to read the book to find out about. This is a story about good old fashioned romance with bad guy mixed in. Definitely 5 Stars all the way.

We have action, suspense and magic. Selena loves the art and is getting her degree in it. She is being stalked by Aiden. When she goes to the gallery to see Asher Quinn's work, Aiden shows up. She is having these weird feelings for all the Quinn brothers. They find out that Aiden is a Wizard. Can they protect Selena? Can Selena love all of them? Can she accept what they are? The only reason I gave it only four stars is cause of Selena out of the blue, she is magical.

Selena and her 4 men. Loved this concept. This is the first time that I am reading this author. I have enjoyed this book immensely. Loved tbe chemistry between them. Really admire the way Ms Alters brought them together and how the relationship worked between all of them and individually. There is a nice combination of drama, suspence and romance with some nice steamy scenes that constantly keeps your interest. This was an easy quick read and I definitely recommend this book.

I know Jade has worked on editing this story to be less taboo in nature but I honestly love the original more taboo version. <3 I hope that the original story finds a permanent place as I appreciate the love these wolf brothers have for each other. Fiction is just that- fiction- and Jade showed their love for each other in every word she wrote. The villain is perfectly creepy and the brothers are the exact heros needed for the heroine. I hope Jade continues writing these types of stories!
