Who doesn't enjoy a lazy day free from responsibility?
That's all Aschyllia was looking for when she left home with her dog, early one morning.
But when she discovers an injured woman and her baby in the forest, Aschyllia and her best friend unwittingly find themselves caught between a feuding brother and sister, one of which is desperate to escape their past while the other is obsessed with having control over the future.
With the aid of her faithful dog, Zie, can Aschyllia find a way forward after her having her entire world flipped upside down?
Will she and her friends have to sacrifice too much to do the "right thing"?
And can she live with the choices she makes along the way?
Join Aschyllia as she ventures away from home for the first time, and struggles to find a place for herself in a world about which she knows little, while also having to take on responsibilities for which she's truly not ready.
I didn't like to read fantasies before since I could just watch them in shows or movies. And they are always so many pages....long series....so I never wanted to spend my money on fiction books....but I really liked this one and I really want to know what will happen in the next book. It is not that bloody and violent which I like the most. The story focuses more on the journey....and each character....it makes me feel like I was growing up with my favorite characters. And I think every dog lovers will like this book. Zie is the real hero....he is just an amazing dog....this is another reason why I like this story.
Recommend to get kindle version if you don't want to carry a heavy book around. I got the paperback. It actually looks much better than the exhibited cover in amazon, very good quality. Not sure if it has audio book. But I would really love it if it has Sam Claflin to read it. haha
The action and fighting in this story draws you in. It changes from unbelievable and slow to making characters step up even if they wish to run away from their fears. There are some connections and extra phrases, but they don't take away from the story. This is more a high young adult book, with the violence, but it's an enjoyable read.
This was a great read. Captured my attention from the start. The characters ate very real and relatable! Would definitely recommend this book to a friend.
A no frills fantasy story. No magic or dragons, just a good adventure. Really love the character development, and the story certainly makes you want to keep reading. Perhaps the only shortcoming is that it is a self-published work, and could have used a little professional editing. But for such a long work, I can forgive the author for a few typos.
