With Ivan, I found acceptance. With Anton, home in the dark. With Erik, I fear my undoing....

Erik Hadley is a gifted violinist with a dark past and an even more troubled soul. His only place of safety, a glass room built to protect others from his violent outbursts. But it's nothing more than a prison, and I have every intention of setting him free.

It won't be easy. There are those who want to keep him imprisoned, who want to keep him from me and a life beyond those walls.

I can't let that stand, I won't.

Will I be able to sever the strings that hold his mind hostage? Am I strong enough to cast that first stone? The trouble is, this stone I hold might shatter more than just his prison, but what's left of my heart as well.

Contains mature themes.

Erik was the character that intrigued me the most from the start, and I knew his story would be the darkest, so this book has been a bit of a disappointment.
Though we went deeper into each character, not just Erik, and though the pain and the anguish were spilling from each page, something in this book seemed too superficial and naïve to be genuine. Paige was able to capture Erik’s trauma and PTSD quite well, she painted each trigger and flashback so vividly, and although she made it clear that this is just the first step in his healing process, it all seemed to happen too fast, too easy. I admit I do not know much about PTSD treatment, but I’m sure it is not something that could be broken with sheer willpower and good intentions of the people who love the person suffering from it. It might be pivotal, but it still seems like it would be in vain without the help of a professional.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Just when I think Paige cannot possibly top herself when it comes to this series she releases another installment and proves me wrong. This book is so emotionally wrenching that it takes you from the very bottom all the way to the top when it comes to Rose, Erik, Ivan, and Anton. After her success with Ivan and Anton this time we focus on Erik after Ms. Hadley takes him away forcing them to find him. What follows is one traumatic roller coaster as we are taken deep inside these characters and all of the things that make them tick. The writing is just superb as we get one revelation after another leading us all the way to the ending that will leaving you dying for the final installment to see how this all is going to play out when it is all said and done. Dark yet respectful making it a total must read. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Swoon worthy

Listen this is not the end of this story and it isn’t rainbows and butterflies and I am so happy it isn’t. Eriks story was I think the best and I can’t wait for the last book to get the happy ending.

dark and delicious

Oh the 3rd book is just as juicy, this time it’s Eric’s turn. It’s brilliantly dark and so worth the time to delve. Go on just jump into this series

Oh. My. God. I have so many feelings after this book. This was so brilliant, heartbreaking, intense... I loved it. So many truths and revelations. Rose’s confessions, poor Erik and his reliving his pain, heartbreak, and torture. I felt like I was right there with them. I was worried that Rose’s breakthrough would be rushed but, it was perfect and realistic. I somehow felt even more connected to Anton. I think he just has a piece of my heart. I’m a bit broken over the end. Just when you feel like there’s hope, they all let trauma close them off again. I’m ready for the symphony coming next.

Bea Paige outdoes herself yet again!

I can't even tell you how much my heart is bursting after reading Strings, book 3 in Bea Paige's Finding Their Muse series. I have been waiting to read Erik's backstory since Steps and this book did not disappoint!!! I think Strokes might still be my favorite of the 3 so far, which is crazy surprising since Anton is the one I didn't connect with in Book 1 as much as Ivan and Erik. I think because I have vision issues myself, that Anton's struggle really spoke to me. I think after all of this, Ivan is still my favorite of the 3 men from Browlace Manor, especially with what happens in this book ❤️

So let me talk about the story without giving away anything that would spoiler it for you. This book deals with Erik who we all know has issues with his past trauma while in the armed forces, which has caused him immense PTSD, enough that he has sequestered himself from all he loves to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone else. Strokes left off with Rose, Ivan, and Anton finding out Erik had left with Ms. Hadley and gone back to where he grew up, before he hurt Rose and his brothers. The intensity in this book is more than I think Strokes and Strings and the backstory is even more gut wrenching. We learn some really awful stuff about Erik and get to see a ton of walls being broken down with all the characters.

Erik has to overcome a lot in this book and we get to see a lot of flashbacks of his time as a teenager and in the armed forces with the horrible woman we won't speak of. What makes me love this book so much is that the book is also about Rose's fight against her self/past as much as it is Erik's. I was pleasantly surprised that Rose and Erik had to work on themselves together/let each other heal the other. They couldn't do it alone and even Ivan nor Anton could really help besides being their as support. The ending was beautiful to say the least. The lead up had me sometimes having to stop and collect myself before moving forward, because of the pain the characters have had to endure. Its so raw and real, Bea is spectacular at drawing from some inner darkness of her own (if not, she is even more brilliant) to create these immense feelings and heart pulling situations, but makes them so reasonable, like they could really happen to people outside of my little bubble; it makes it so much more powerful. If that makes sense haha.

Be forewarned, when the trigger warning says there are triggers/this has dark aspects to it, it is not kidding. No, its not the darkest thing I have read, but it does have dark moments. I think this one has some equally beautiful, light moments too. I can't wait to see what Bea does in the finale, Symphony! I think it will be the best yet and am dying to get my hands on it already. I can't wait to see more of the D/S relationship between Rose and her 3 guys. We got to see Ivan, Anton, and Rose finally get to an amazing spot in terms of that, and we are only getting started with Erik and his dominant personality (can't wait for more rope action hehe).

Ok one last thing in my long ramble....the evil villain in this story is even better than what I thought she was in book 1. I cannot wait for her to get what she deserves in the end. The twists in this series regarding her and Anton's dad I think will be incredible and the confrontation has only just begun. Ahhhh I want Book 4 her faster, but I also don't want this series to end. Best series of Bea's by far. She needs to stay in this lane and give us these angsty, dark, gritty moments for years to come ❤️❤️❤️

Buckle up and prepare to be heartbroken

Where to start? What to say? I am speechless and breathless. My head hurts and my heart hurts. These characters have turned me inside out and upside down. I knew this book was going to be so much harder on the characters (and me) than Steps and Strokes were, but I had no idea quite how traumatic an ordeal it would be. I was utterly wrung out by the last page.
Bea has indeed surpassed herself with this book. As I read, time seemed to stand still and the world narrowed, just as it did for Rose, Erik, Ivan and Anton on that claustrophobic farm on that remote island. Secrets and suffering, passion and poison, heartbreak and harm, regret and redemption, all will be encountered and endured in this book. Bea's writing is, as ever, formidable, as the emotions of the characters leak off the page and into your soul, their actions enthralling you, their passion and despair spearing your heart. This is so powerful and all-consuming, the outside world ceased to exist for a time.
Ivan and Anton now have their saviour in Rose, but Erik may be the one that needs saving most of all. After the ending of Strokes, I could not begin to imagine the expositions that were waiting in this book. I knew that Erik would quite possibly break me, whilst breaking through Rose's walls, but his story was absolutely heartbreaking. He may have been the most human and normal of the brothers in their early lives but his humanity had taken an beating in his formative years until it was completely ripped away from him by a traumatic event that had me in tears. His recounting of this awful period of his life was only a part of his road to salvation. He needed to be saved but he also had to save Rose, whose own demon was still holding her by the throat, before he could start to heal.
Ivan and Anton are there as Erik and Rose battle to free themselves and each other. They are helpless to intervene but play their part, watching over them, keeping them safe, loving them. I love both of them and now I know Erik, he is just as precious to me.
This book starts the healing process for Erik and Rose, opens the door to the potential the four of them have for love, but then the ending just pulls the rug right out from under them. There is so much more to come in Symphony, the final book of the series, and whilst it can't come too soon, I need to take a pause and catch my breath before Bea reaches in to my chest and pulls my heart out again.

My favorite so far of the Finding Their Muse series.

I've always been drawn to Erik since we first met him in Steps.
Something about his dark nature ignited my interest and I couldn't wait to see more from him.
I thought this would be the last book, but we aren't done yet. And I couldn't be more happy about that fact.

If you've read the first two books, then you know the amount of heart-wrenching and gut-churning emotions are involved with these characters.
Erik's is no different.
Maybe even a little more so than the other two.

Rose isn't happy with how her men have been living their lives.
Shutting themselves away from the world because of things they've done in the past.
They feel they deserve to be where they are now.
But she won't settle for that.
Erik is happy in his glass cage within his room.
It's where he can protect others from himself.

PTSD, mental health issues, and several other topics are discussed in this book.
If this will set off a trigger for you, do not read.
This is a very intense read and even someone who doesn't face these issues might have a hard time reading it.

I just loved how we get to see how everything unfolds within this book.
Some of the stuff has been building up since book one and we finally get a few answers.
I was emotionally and mentally wrung out after this book, but in a good way.
It's why it's taken me so long to write the review for it.
What is so great about this book is that not only is Rose the savior to Erik, but also vice versa.
Rose had been willing to sacrifice herself to help Anton and Ivan with their demons, but held back about her own.
We saw her slowly working through them in Strokes, but in this one it comes fully to head.
You see a different side of all these characters we have been falling in love with and see the depth of love they have for one another.
It's a beautiful thing to read.

Be prepared for Bea Paige to rip your heart out in the most glorious way possible as a writer and reader.
If you haven't picked up this book, or this series, I highly recommend doing so.
They are fantastic reads and you will not be disappointed.

Strings is the third book in the Finding Their Muse series. Like the first two books, this book is told in a multi-POV style, using present events and flashbacks for the storytelling. And, like the first two books, we don’t get to see a lot of the group dynamic, as this book is focussed on Erik and Rose.

This… is a heavy book. I mean, the series isn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows, but even for the series it’s pretty heavy and tackles a topic that’s still very sensitive, PTSD. We already know that Rose has been through a lot, and a lot of it has already been uncovered/shared. Likewise, we know from previous books that Erik has been through a lot and suffers from PTSD. This book is very much about Erik’s past, but Rose is still involved in the story. Where Anton and Ivan have both had singular, main events that have changes who they are, Erik has had two, very big events shape who he is. Both of those are in this book. And while this book is about Erik’s past, it’s still very much about Rose and Erik in the present. This book is similar to Strokes in some ways, as a lot of the story seems to occur in this bubble that caused the outside world to fade away.

The one thing we’ve yet to really see, that I’m hoping we get to see more of in book 4, is the group dynamic or the every day dynamic. This group hasn’t really had a break yet, and I’m hoping that we’re going to get a glimpse of what they are going to be like. That said, there are some big bombs that are hinted at at the end of this book, and I don’t think it’s going to be an easy ride just yet. I wouldn’t say it’s a cliffie, but I’m definitely look forward to book 4 to find out more.

"...this isn’t a fairy-tale. They aren’t my knights in shining armour who can save me from evil, and I’m not the perfect princess who can give them their happily ever after. They’re the predators of the story, the heartless king with a thousand lovers, the twisted artist trapping his victims’ souls on canvas, the punisher who rips out people’s hearts so he can devour them..."

I knew right before I read this book that Erik's story will be devastating and downright heartbreaking. After all, how can such a beautiful, strong man like him get so broken that he felt the need to lock himself away from anyone? We knew a bit of his back story from the previous books, but it didn't prepare me to the extent of his suffering. Or the depth of his pain.

I fell in love with Ivan's vulnerability.
I am obsessed with Anton's passion.
With Erik, I was ruined.

"Our kind of fairy-tale doesn’t exist. This is real life, it’s messy, it’s brutal, it hurts."

Rose and Erik's relationship dynamic is gut wrenching as it is cathartic. Erik who craves for love his whole life, Rose who craves the darkness to hide from love. Two tortured souls. Will they be each others salvation or be their downfall?

Everything in this book is perfection; from captivating story line, beautifully broken characters and seductively dark prose. It is a wonder really that I'm coherent enough to write a review when I'm still reeling with so much feels. Needless to say, I'm positively vibrating with excitement for the last and final book of this series. I need that final book ASAP.

For months I have been playing the idle girl, always passing by the dark window with ballet shoes hanging at the front. That was how it was for me in Finding Their Muse...For a long time I have debated and avoided this book because of the inapt belief that if I take one step in that direction; just one book and the end would be me drowning in a black sea harsh in its unforgiving waves.

However today after finishing the 1st and 2nd book, I knew I had to say my piece. I was a fool because how many times have we been told as both readers and writers not to judge a book by its cover. It was a missed up and a mistake. Nevertheless, I had only gathered up with a simple conclusion from the summary that the protagonist was a lamb handed in for slaughter.

Personally, I had always been cautious but curiosity kills the cat and yet I'm still drawn to it and somehow found satisfaction in the decrescendo of the moment when their souls become entwined and their darkness began to soothe the other.

This was not a lamb walking into a lion's den. No, it was a lioness but one who enter with the heart ready to claim, protect and...be soothed in return. Don't mistake this to be innocent as i have mistake its naivety for. I'm glad to read a book with a protagonist that has a strength deeply rooted and embraced with its pain itself. I hope this will be just as much enjoyable read for you as it was for me.

Sincerely,
Lady Havergal

***This book was provided to me for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own and in no way swayed by this fact.***

This book was honestly everything I wanted it to be. Unlike the Strokes this one fell more on the dark side, more so even than Steps. That darkness was treated so delicetly and gently though, it was like a grenade wrapped in silk. I loved getting to know and understand Erik more, and watch their relationship as a group begin to grow. Perhapse more than that I loved watching Rose be able to let herself and her darkness go. I'm incredibly excited to see the group dynamic further develop in the fourth and final book. I'm also cursious to see who Rose will become now that this whole new side to her characher has been exposed. I'm so happy to have seen these three men finally show so me synchrony though, and I jope that bond will continue to strengthen. And that ending! Dang! Perhapse my only comment is that some points felt a tad rushed. To be fair though, that may have been more to due with my not wanting it to end than the writing itself.

Existing, not living. Each haunted by the harm they caused another. Ruled by their past. It's time to stop running; time to stop hiding. Rose has captivated the broken men of Browlace Manor. She's the one. With Ivan she found acceptance, he made love to her; with Anton, she found peace in the darkness as he showed her compassion but Erik wants more. He wants her truth, her heart. The gifted violinist has a tortured past and feels that he is only safe living in a glass room. Rose wants to set him free. Erik knows the only way it works is if Rose also lets go of her pain, her secrets, her past. It's time to live. Time to feel, Time to let go. Time to hope.

Unmatched intensity. Addictive pain. Captivating monsters. Alluring danger. Beautiful darkness. This series steals my breath away. It's perfectly crafted. Each chapter, each scene, each sentence are exquisitely crafted. These books move me deeply. They make me feel. I rage. I rejoice. I hunger. I hurt. Now I hope. These three men are not Prince Charming. Rose is not their Princess. They are each damaged. Yet their broken pieces fit together to create a stunning mosaic. I expect their finale to be a masterpiece.

Strings is my favorite in this series so far!! Rose and her guys Ivan, Anton and Eric are a match that not everyone can see. They are all broken in some way, but together they make beautiful music. They are each others sanity, muse and freedom. There is so much pain, intensity, danger, love and healing in this series that it just pulls you in and does not let go. Bea Paige has such a way with words. I am addicted!!

Strings is about Eric and if you have read books one and two, you know he has issues. At the end of book two he has left with Ms. Hadley, whom I dislike very much, to where he grew up. This is the story that happens after.
Trust me, you do not want to miss what happens.
Just know that Eric goes through so much, we learn so much about his past. I just loved his struggle and fight he has to endure as well as Rose's. This whole series with Rose and all of her guy, just pulls you in to their story. You can't help but to block everything out so you can find out what happens next.

What a series thus far, each book has outdone the last and I’m so happy I dove into it head first. Just when you think you understand Rose, how and why she has helped these men...you’d better think again because all is not revealed. It feels like that moment in Harry Potter when he’s looking into the memory font and Professor Dumbledore would take a memory with a wand and drop it into the font. Different memories are slowly being revealed, which shed a whole new light on everything.

This is Erik’s story and he’s the most volatile of the three. He has had to endure emotional and physical pain at the hand of women. Trust doesn’t come easily, but there is something about Rose that he’s drawn to. However his mother Ms Hadley has whisked him away to his childhood holiday destination. In order to locate him they need to know exactly where that is, but the locals are hiding something. Rose holds secrets close to her chest and she needs to share them if she wants to find peace and happiness.

This being the third book in this series we all already know how heart wrenching this series is and how much emotion these characters pull from us. I don’t want to give anything away so there isn’t a lot to say other than this has been my favorite of the series. Erik has been my favorite character from the very start and after reading all he has endured, all he is capable of, all he’s willing to do and how shockingly gentle he can be, I’m even more in love with his character. Ms. Hadley shows her true colors finally, but we are still left with the mystery that her past and after that ending I very much look forward to reading about how they heal each other even more and deal with all that happens. Bea did an amazing job writing this, especially so with how difficult some of the scenes must have been and I felt every emotion throughout it all, thank you Bea.

Powerful

This book was really moving. Bea Paige really knows how to open her characters up so that they're bleeding all of their feelings in order to grow. All four of them grow a lot in this book. It's about time that Rose let herself open up to loving and being loved. It isn't an easy thing to do, especially after the experiences that she's had, but Erik finally breaks through. Like Bea said, though, he wouldn't have been able to if Ivan and Anton had not already made progress with her.

Also, finally--finally!--the guys are Ms. Hadley's true colors. Rose has been trying to tell them from the beginning, but they weren't ready to listen. Now, not only has she truly shown her ugly, she's caused a setback in their guy's healing. Rose is more than ready to fight for their HEA, though. I'm rooting for her.

The danger and damage done to these men reaches it's peak in Strings as Rose and Eric find common ground that doesn't end in death. Rose, fully consumed with not falling for these men, has to get Eric to let her in. Full of flashbacks from abuse suffered as a POW, this is a serious task. This one, though exceptionally written, was so vivid it was hard to read at times. What happened to Eric and Rose both is so horrific that it's a wonder either can function at all, especially Eric, but there is a strength that comes from survival and Strings really highlights that inner strength. With a larger mystery afoot that will be the center of Symphany, Strings was an heartbreaking but incredible read. I'm looking forward to Symphany to see how it plays out!

The further I dive into this series, the deeper I am gripped by these characters.

This audiobook is narrated by Rachael Beresford and Shaun Grindell.
This book is centered around Erik’s point of view. The most dangerous and yet emotionally raw of all the men.
This story is a portrayal of trauma (war, torture,…), and emotional manipulation, but it also touches on themes of love and be worthy of love.
Please take care of your mental health, this story contains heavy and detailed disturbing themes.

No spoilers of any kind included!
This book like the first two books in Finding Their Muse series is awesome!
I climbed into this story and I could not climb out until I had gotten to the end of the book.
There’s so many twists and turns and ups and downs that I actually felt like I was on a amusement park ride!
Bea Paige definitely knows how to hook her readers and leave them wanting and needing more!
So yep it’s going to be a big HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read the two books before this one then I highly suggest that you do because otherwise you will get confused with what’s going on and who’s who!

😭Grab your tissues!😭

Just like the song “Killing me Softly” I really resonated with this book because that is exactly what Bea Paige has done with her words!

Strings is one emotional moment after another and I feel so strung up, just like our characters. I loved the fact that Erik and Rose didn’t take this journey completely on their own though, Anton and Ivan were there too and they have a chance to heal together.

Erik’s backstory goes to show the strength of his character and even though he suffers PTSD he still can see who Rose really is deep down and what she needs; what’s right in front of her and help her step into the light, to not be afraid of love.

Oh my goodness I have been waiting for this book with baited breath. Was I disappointed? Was I heck! Erik is so, so broken and so, so beautiful and just wow. It's a heartwrenching story, finding out all that happened to them. Watching them as they work through it. So many times I just lost my breath with the things they said. I just loved this book. These characters grabbed me from the very first book and they haven't let me go yet. They feel so real I keep expecting to bump into them somewhere. I didn't realise there will be one more book but I cannot wait for it...

Can’t get enough of this series!

I love this series so very, very much! I’ve read Ivan’s and Anton’s stories..enthralled as Rose has healed them. And although I have been eagerly awaiting Strings, I KNEW Erik’s story would be the hardest to learn! So heartbreaking, almost painful to read, I never imagined just how much trauma Rose would have to help him overcome! Of course, Erik seems to be what Rose needs to truly heal as well! I equally can’t wait, and dread the next book....I don’t want this series to end!

This author is so talented at the beautiful weaving of words that I find myself completely absorbed into her books, not just reading them, but experiencing them as well. Strings is the third book in a series that has riveted me since I opened the first. There is a fourth and final book coming, and I am anxiously awaiting its release. I can’t recommend Bea’s writing enough. Buy her books, enter into the world of these wounded, wonderful people, and experience the gauntlet of emotions so creatively expressed here. You won’t be disappointed.

A dark unveiling

As I said in my last review, there is no way I can see this as a Romance. In book 3 Eric begins to face his monsters. He begins to heal , but he also makes Rose come to terms with herself. Just when you think happiness may be reachable for the 4 of them; tragedy strikes. They have slipped back to before. Can love bring them back? I have hope. I hope love conquers all. I hope I can say this is a romance in the final book, and that Rose and her 3 men embrace love and a HEA.

Out of the darkness he rises, the man with a lion’s heart.

What a truly amazing story. The effects of PTSD alone are tragic, but add in torture and rape and the effects are devastating. They call Rose "the one" as she has the power to help them all. However, who is there to help her? The author leaves us still wondering how the story works out. Far more damage was done to all three of these men by Ms. Hadley. I look forward to the closing of this story, when the 4 of them become a "Symphony".

This Rose has thorns

Book three ... wow ... so, whilst Ivan and Anton’s stories were dark and twisted, Erik’s story is emotionally and psychologically twisted and all kinds of f*cked up. But is Erik being healed by Rose or is he doing the healing.

I loved this book as much as the first two for completely different reasons - still love Ivan’s story the most - but Erik and Anton are getting there. This is a truly black 5 star read and I’m looking forward to the conclusion in ‘Symphony’. Highly recommend this series.
