Left you wanting more.

This is a wonder relaxing read. I hated for it to end.... left wanting more... perhaps a sequel? It took me to so many emotional places. Such picturesque writing it was like I was almost there seeing, smelling and drinking in each moment as I read. An escape to another country without leaving home... a must read!

Can a first love survive taboo, or a fatal secret?
This hauntingly beautiful story channels the journeys of a young Chinese girl, Amei, her mother, Rain, and An American, Luke, who all face extreme challenges to get what they want, and for Amei, to discover her shocking identity. This is a spellbinding story of mothers and daughters, of history and heritage, of passions and taboos. The scenes in China are so vivid you feel as if you were there.
