I was born of nothing.

I’m a Void, a rare supernatural capable of absorbing powers at the brush of my skin.

Feared. Hated. Untouchable.

Thibault Academy is full of supernaturals that want me dead, and the most powerful of them, the Paragons, will stop at nothing to ensure I go back to the hell I came from. They’re cruel, heartless, and have created an unlikely alliance to take me down.

If I want to learn how to control the nothingness, I’ll have to survive them.

I was born of the void, but I’ll die from the power.

This is a reverse harem bully romance.

From now on if I see Coralee June and Raven Kennedy's names on a book, I'm just going to automatically purchase it. This is the third book I've read from this author duo, and I've loved every single one! Their writing is seamless, the stories are hot and intriguing, and I never want to put them down. They make an amazing team!

Void is a paranormal reverse harem bully romance with an incredibly interesting heroine, Devicka, and four delectable heroes of various paranormal persuasions, Render, Hyde, Grit, and Quade. Devi has a supernatural ability that I have never read about in a book before. Her power was my favorite thing about this novel. It was so unique and cool that it made me wish this wasn't a standalone, and it deserves an extra star for that alone.

All of the love interests had special relationships with Devi and a special set of skills in the bedroom too which made the sex scenes extra hot. Again, I wish I could have had even more time with these characters. In my opinion, this would have made an amazing series or even trilogy. The world could have easily been expanded, her gaining control of her power could have taken somewhat longer, and we could have gotten a lot more time with these characters. I would have enjoyed getting to see the relationships grow and develop even further. I'm not taking any points off for that. Don't worry! Lol It just makes me sad that such an incredible idea was used in a standalone. As a fan of paranormal, it isn't everyday that I come across something that made me as excited as the Void did. Bravo to the authors for coming up with a kickass idea like that!

All in all, Void was a spectacular read! I was interested and invested from the beginning to the end. The plot progressed fairly quickly, and there was never a moment when I got the urge to put the book down. The writing style was phenomenal. The characters were perfection, and the story was entertaining and original. The only small gripe I have is with Hyde. I loved his character, but he seemed to be shoved to the side a lot. The last two sex scenes showcased that even more so in my opinion. That being said, it wasn't enough to affect my overall enjoyment that much. I still ended up loving it and telling all my friends that would listen to read it.

If you're a fan of paranormal reverse harem bully romance, this a must read!

“You are more than just your Void. Perhaps it’s time for you to start living that way.”

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ :

the world building & the different fascinating creatures were fun to learned about. even though lots of things weren’t explained too in-depth / with detail, and the school / academy aspect wasn’t strong, (wait, actually the classes that’s supposed to explain the history of this world we’re in were basically nonexistent. so no history lesson here, it is a short standalone book after all), everything else was really easy to understand.

ᴘʟᴏᴛ :

↳ Devicka Cainson, our heroine, is a void (one of a kind). which means she has this big uncontrollable power in her that makes her dangerous to the people in her world (she can sucked/stripped their power dry). cuz she’s seen as a threat, she got exiled to the human world and was only allowed to return to her world if there’s something her people needed her for. long story short after some event happened one day, she was forced to transfer from her human school to the Thibault Academy (to control her own power). there, everyone fears her so she gotta deal w/ the cruel prejudices and was seen as a monster by the people there.

’There are only four paragons in all of America, chosen by the council leaders, one of each: vampire, shifter, elemental, and necromancer. The four most powerful supernatural breeds. As a paragon, he was being groomed at Thibault Academy to one day take over as a council member and lead the other of their kind.’

↳ enter 4 hot paragons who hates her, assigned as chaperones / sitters for her to escort her wherever, cuz she’s still deemed dangerous. actually the whole school hated her more than these assholes do (so it is a bullying story but not much from the love interests). there is one scene where she got assaulted by fucking vampires that was hard for me to read, that’s probably the only tw this book got.

ʜᴀʀᴇᴍ #1 : ʀᴇɴᴅᴇʀ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴠᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇ

”You don’t seem happy that the council is meeting here,” I pointed out.
“I just hate these council meetings,” he replied in a moment of honesty. Maybe the Vampire Paragon wasn’t so bad after all. “I also don’t want to be seen with you. It’s bad for my reputation,” he added.
Nope. The guy was a total asshole.

i liked him at first but then he fucked another bitch that bullied devicka after he met her. so he’s kinda on my shit list after that. not bad tho not bad

ʜᴀʀᴇᴍ #2 : ʜʏᴅᴇ, ᴛʜᴇ ɴᴇᴄʀᴏᴍᴀɴᴄᴇʀ

1. “Who are you?”
His lips quirked a little, and he did a little bow, keeping his eyes on me as he lowered. “Hyde Marr, at your service. Necromancer Paragon. Sex god. Zombie king. I have about seventeen other titles, but those are the most important ones,” he said with a sly smile before straightening.

2. “I’ve been figuring things out on my own for so long, I’m afraid I wouldn’t know what to do with one mate, let alone four,” I replied honestly.
“Well, when in doubt, we can always fuck. The five of us seem to have perfected that,” he said cheekily before stroking my cheek.
I tilted my head back and laughed. “You’re odd, Hyde Marr.”
“The best people are.”

my fav one. he gave Dev a pet rat to keep her company the first time he met her. then cheered her up when everyone’s cruel to her by resurrecting corpses and make them do a river dance!! also, did i mention he commanded a variety of animals (bears, ravens, rabbits, a deer etc) to cleaned her destroyed shack a la snow white? (or was it cinderella?)

(and he has a silver hair!) this zombie king owns me

ʜᴀʀᴇᴍ #3 : ɢʀɪᴛᴛ, ᴛʜᴇ sʜɪғᴛᴇʀ

Stunned, it took me a few seconds before I could pull myself up, and when I did, I watched the pretty little dragon morph into none other than a buck ass naked Gritt Boltwright.
“Your third animal is a pink miniature dragon?”
The wild, blond-haired shifter stalked over to me, naked as the day he was born. I tried not to look at his dick, but it was swinging so effectively between his legs, I couldn’t help it.
“It’s salmon-colored. Not pink,” he scowled.
This whole thing was so bizarre I couldn’t help but laugh. “Dude, it was cotton candy, neon nail polish, hand me a rose hot pink.”

he’s my second fav. dunno what it is bout territorial possessive beating-chest-and-claiming cavemen

ʜᴀʀᴇᴍ #4 : ǫᴜᴀᴅᴇ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴇʟᴇᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ

Quade’s eyes narrowed, and I felt his power pulsate. Unlike most elementals, Quade could conjure all of the elements—air, water, fire, and earth. Beads of water collected on his fingers, dripping onto the floor.
Render’s gray eyes flicked down to the floor at the forming puddle and smirked. “Leaking?” He tsked. “What a terrible choice the elementals made. A paragon who can’t even control his own power. That’s just sad.”
“Better than a race who go mad with bloodlust and then have to be put down like rabid dogs.”

yea that ain’t a quote bout him and the heroine cuz their chem was basically nonexistent, meaning he shouldn’t even be in their group. (story : he’s her childhood best friend that turned his back on her cuz mommy and daddy said so)

ɪғ ʏᴏᴜʀᴇ ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴇsᴛᴇᴅ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ʙᴜɪʟᴅɪɴɢ :

”The vampires were the easiest to spot because they were the most perfect looking. Smooth, pale skin and movements that were either too slow or way too fast. They had an ancient air about them, even though none of them were older than twenty. They spoke quieter because they could hear better, and every once in a while, I caught a glimpse of their fangs when they spoke or raised a glass to their lips. But the dead giveaway? It was the fact that their tables were completely empty of food. All they had before them were crystal pitchers of thick, red blood.

The shifters were on the opposite end, and if vampires exuded a deathlike stillness, then the shifters embodied the opposite. They were loud, rambunctious, and had so much food piled around them that I was shocked the table could hold all the weight. Most of them had long hair, even the males, but unless they shifted partially to reveal canines and claws, they looked mostly human. Except for their eyes. If you caught them in the right light, they flashed luminescent, like a cat in the dark.

The elementals had their own tables, all full, with way more people than the other two combined. Elemental magic was common but strong. Most could control a single element, like water, while some of the more powerful ones could call on two. Except for Quade Fucking Sandwood, who could control all four.
It was clear that the school was mostly run by elementals, just based on the sheer numbers. I could see it in the way they sat on top of the tables, lounged on their backs on the floor, and tossed around balls of fire or water like the dining hall was their own personal playground. None of the professors who sat before the huge stained glass windows gave the elementals a single glare. It was clear that this was the norm, and they were allowed to do pretty much whatever they wanted.

But what caught my eye the most was the necromancer table. Table, as in, only one. Necromancers were rare. Not nearly as rare as Voids, but for every hundred elementals, there might be thirty vamps, twenty shifters, but only one necro. For that reason alone, I felt a strange sense of camaraderie toward them, even though that was stupid. They definitely didn’t feel camaraderie toward me. That became brutally clear when the group sneered at me as I passed by.
The necros looked human except for one glaringly obvious difference. They were all marked with the sign of death. Like a birthmark, necros developed a symbol on their necks when their powers manifested. It was as dark as a freshly inked tattoo, a single X left to mark their skin.”

ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟᴀɪɴs :

the romance execution really could’ve been done better. reading a RH romance, it’s harder for me to love / believe in the romance (every relationship the girl has with the boys) than usual romance.

u really gotta bring ur a game and make me feel the connections between the different (emotional) relationships the girl has with each one of the guys, not just coz theyre horny. which is why, i just wished this was longer (not a series, but just longer) and more slow burn in the falling in love aspect.

while i loved Hyde, his relationship w/ Devi was lacking in the romance department. Quade-Devi’s was in need for more development as well, theirs was the most abrupt imo, and has least chemistry. i really liked Devi-Gritt’s & Devi-Render’s, but didn’t love it yet. cuz again, needed more development. more sweet little moments, more caring affections bla bla bla u know the drill

Mea culpa I was suckered in by the great cover art. I knew it was a RH but failed to determine that it had a bullying theme. I’m not a fan of bully romances and find them upsetting.

I just don’t find humiliation or emotionally abusive behavior sexy. It’s worse when the theme includes some type of discrimination or speciesism.

Apart from the bullying aspect, the FMC was, simply put, a pushover. She lacked inner strength and self-confidence.

RH Erotica Stars

I’m not a mega fan of reverse harem bully romances. Why do I read them? Well, glad you ask, when it has certain elements and it’s written well, they are kind of enjoyable to read.

There were a lot of things that were going for me in this book.

1 – I liked that it’s a standalone! this is no draggy book. It’s a pretty meaty book itself, so you get a lot of character development.

2 – It was actually hot. No, stupid slow burn RH. I can’t stand slow burn RH books. What’s the point right? This was an erotic book, but with depth.

3- the storyline was interesting and unique Sure, you have a shifter, a vampire, someone who masters death and other elements, but the whole void concept to me was new and refreshing. I was truly engaged.

I had low expectations for this book because a lot of times I find books on Amazon KU it just doesn’t fit the way I like things to be read. This was not the case. I liked that it was dialogue based book. I liked the slow build up in characters. And the steam!

It wasn’t a true bully romance. Yes, they were mean to her and it frustrated me at times, but I’ve read books where it was harsh and this was very mild. I liked that in my opinion.

So if you are in the mood for a RH, paranormal erotic read with depth, try this one!

“You are more than just your Void. Perhaps it’s time for you to start living that way.”

This book was hot AF, but not only that the story was so GOOD. Bully lite. Reverse harem. Paranormal. But not just paranormal, because there was new lore that I’ve personally never read before. The whole concept of a Void and what we learn about it is just so amazing and cool. Love how it ties in and works with the whole reverse harem of Devicka and her guys. I also loved that there were underlying messages in this one. About not letting one thing define you, and to own who you are. I don’t always need that in stories, but when authors include an empowering message it always makes the story feel elevated. So not only do Coralee and Raven give us an entertaining and hot paranormal bully RH, but they also give us heart and emotion. SO DANG GOOD.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys RH or paranormal romance. I’m not even that big on paranormal and I LOVED this story and the world. Such a good read. I’m sad it’s over, but so glad I had the chance to read it!!

Hmmmm....
Well, that was fun but a bit unsatisfying.
The ending was rushed and for me her relationship with the 4 guys was rushed too.
...and I usually like shorter stories!

Dev is a Void, the scourge of the paranormal world. Like the rat in the kitchen. Nobody wants her, not even her mother. But really, her mother is a class A b*tch, so no loss there.
She not had love in her life since she got her powers and her best friend, Reed is a human who doesn't know about the paranormal world.
On a side note, I was a little confused about Reed. It seems his mother treats him like a girl. But I thought maybe the author was including a twin spirits person, and Reed was actually a guy born in a woman's body? But I don't think, that's the case. Too bad.

Anyways, I liked Dev's character but she was a bit of doormat for most of the story, bordering on wannabe martyr. And she also couldn't stick to her guns because of TBS (treacherous body syndrome) when she was around any of the hunky 4. But yeah, she's 18 and full of fresh hormones...

The boys are 19 which made their powerful status in the paranormal society ridiculous. But isn't that always the case with these fairytales? Moving on...
I thought the story would have been great if it could have been just 2 maybe 3 of the 4 self centered jackasses. Because Render, the vampire was NOT a romantic addition. I didn't even find him sexy.

For me, Render crossed the NO-GO line and ruined the story. I was pretty disappointed with Gritt too.

One of the parts of the book I really enjoyed where when her father would show up. He's a risk demon and kinda kept me from hating the book.

Wow! All I can say is wow! This book sucked me into its void and still hasn't let go long after I read the last page! From the very start, the authors sunk their claws into me with their beautiful writing and intriguing story line. The heroine is one you root for from the get-go and often wish she'd pull the villain card she was given. "Why was I always the villain, when all I ever tried to be was the hero?" But, alas, she had a good heart and good intentions despite what others thought about her. All her life she'd been bullied, hated on, and feared. And despite that, she kept moving forward and strived to do the right thing. I loved her and her harem of arrogant mean boys! This may have been my first book by these authors, but I'll definitely be reading everything else they have now too! Five SUCKED INTO THE VOID stars!!

I really liked the concept of this book. A Void is a paranormal being that can take away powers of other supernaturals. The main character is shunned from her society because of the fear that she can take away what makes a supernatural who they are. This had bully elements at the beginning, the 4 supernaturals trying to get rid of her from the school they are attending.

BUTTTTTTTT.... Unfortunately I found that the insta love did not work for me. Maybe insta love is not the right word but the guys fell too quickly in my opinion for it to be "believable." I thought this book had some great potential because this story line could have been really fun to explore but I just did not enjoy it as much as I'd have liked.

I still gave it 3 stars because I was entertained the entire time. I liked the witty banter and the supernatural world. But the loss of two stars was due to the fact that it could have been fleshed out more and the guys were hateful one minute and then suddenly fell in love the next.

So it’s a stand-alone.

Just thought I’d warn those of you who, like me, can barely stand stand-alones.
Get it? Stand? Lol.

SO ANYWAY.

It’s an RH stand alone.
A decent one I might add.

Though I do need to say that the first half of this book was much better than the second half.

Devicka is a troubled teen with little love received who gets thrown into a school to learn about her powers.
Then it becomes a hurried frenzy from boys-that-hate-her to eternal bonds. It is just one book after all.

Let me throw it out into the universe that I did not like 90% of the names in this book.

Would I read again knowing what I know now?
Ehhhh. Not sure.

Really not much to say.

💖 This makes one hell of a stand alone book. I would have been happy to wait longer for the romances to develop, with sequels, like the Heart Hassle series.
💖 Elementals, vampires, shifters, necromancers and demons.
💖 Mate bonds.
💖 The plot was fantastic, my attention never wavered.
💖 All the characters in this book are unique and interesting.
💖 Karma can be a bitch.
💖 Hot AF.

Devicka has been looking forward to turning 18 and gaining a measure of freedom. She's a super masquerading as a human, living in a human school with her only friend. From the age of 10 Devicka's life changed when her powers manifested and she turned into a Void, accidentally taking her mother's powers just made a bad situation worst. Now Devicka is summoned before the counsel to take the powers of a vampire under bloodlust, only something happens during the process and a new facet of her Void powers emerges. The counsel orders her to attend Thirbult University to learn more about her powers and to learn some control. But the one commodity that 's always in demand is power and things come crashing down as the powers that be seek to use Devicka in their quest for greater power.

*********
I think the most important word in the blurb is the one I missed, "bully" romances are not my thing. I don't subscribe to the theory that the little idiot pulling my hair is doing it because he likes me, nope I'd quicker punch him in the nuts. Needless to say this trope is one I tend to avoid. In this instance I made it through the bullying phase but there wasn't enough balance for me to believe in the "relationship" . For this to work I need a 40% bully plot vs. A 60% grovel/relationship plot and that didn't happen here. The guys except Hyde were horrible to her, then in lust with her and then HEA.....where's the love?

Render, Gritt and what's his face treated the h horribly, they believed she was an evil power hungry void rather than using common sense to see that she was really struggling. I felt sorry for the h but wanted to smack her every time she thought one of the idiots was hot

I usually hate books being broken up into different parts but this could've really done with a part 2. The plot was well executed but the romance suffered from a definite lack of development.

The fact that Render had sex with what's her face and rubbed it in the h's face after feeling drawn to her made me want to throat stomp him.

The concept of this book was unique and interesting but for me the romance was lacking and that brought my rating down significantly.

I also wanted the h to grow and develop her self confidence, she'd been starved of touch and affection for years so her sudden "bonds" to these guys just felt a tad desperate to me. Their eventual decision to be with her even without the bond helped a tiny bit

All in all I will say there were parts I enjoyed but there were also parts that didn't quite work for me

Okay, so I devoured this book. Void was honestly a page turner for me and probably beyond addicting. I mean, have you ever been in the zone when it comes to a book? Like nothing else matters - not the weather, the tv, food, nothing. Just because you are so invested into a book and you want to know how the heck it's going to end.

So, yeah, this was my book yesterday. I'm sure I have plenty of books that make me zone out the world and just focus on the pages in front of me. I just don't have the time to go through that wonderful list. That being said, I really enjoyed this book.

In it, you will meet Devicka. Now in this world filled with paranormal assholes, she is rare because she is a Void. Which means she a bad ass and can drain people from their supernatural powers and abilities. So she's basically the one person you shouldn't piss off.

Besides her, you get to meet her little harem of douche canoes. I mean, at first they were most definitely douches but they eventually developed feelings and grew a heart before the end of the book. As for everyone else in this world, they are dead to me. Especially her mother who was completely horrible. Oh lord, I hated her so much. Heck, she doesn't even deserve the word "mom" in my eyes.

Luckily for Devicka, she has her dad who is a demon. Oh lord, I loved their relationship and I'm glad that she has at least one awesome parent that cares about her. Speaking of relationships, out of her entire harem.. I really enjoyed getting to meet Hyde. He was hilarious to me and just made me forget that the three other guys were complete douches in the beginning.

Now I need another book by this author and I hope it's another good one!

Plot & Writing
Being a Void in the supernatural world means being feared and hated. There is no in-between, and as the last Void in existence, Devicka is the target of that.

Rejected by her mother, and exiled by her own people, after failing to prevent an accident she had no control over, Devicka has spent the last years of her life living among humans, away from other supernaturals and forbidden to even train her ability.

One thing gone wrong, and the Council takes the decision for her to attend Thibault Academy. A place full of supernaturals who would rather see her meet an unfortunate end than be among them.
However, the most dangerous of them all are the Paragons, the most powerful of their class, and they are set on making her miserable.

The plot is a mix of mystery, romance and intrigue. The more we delve into it, the more secrets are revealed, truths are turned upside down and there are some plot-twists you might not see coming ― I didn't...

Characters
Devicka
Despite being pushed aside and abandoned, not only by her race but also by the people who were supposed to care for her, she still manages to be kind and compassionate, refusing to respond with the same animosity she's been treated with.

Devicka's been judged for her power, not her own person, and that's truly saddening.
She's a strong, smart and determined character, who has been pushed down one too many times because of the dark power living inside her. However, she undergoes significant development throughout the book and I enjoyed following her progress.
"Why was I always the villain, when all I ever tried to be was the hero?"

The MMCs
If you think they would've held different views that set them apart from other supernaturals, you'd be wrong. Like everyone else, they despised her, maybe even feared her too, for what she represented.
Didn't last too long though, because they soon realized that she was not what they imagined.
Render - the bored, Vampire Paragon
Quade - the cocky, assholish Elemental Paragon
Gritt - the stubborn, intimidating, and growly Shifter Paragon
Hyde - the funny, law breaking and sweet Necromancer Paragon

Out of all of them, Hyde was my absolute favorite and that may be because he was the first one to try and see Dev for who she is, not the rumors circling around.

Romance
Their relationship was slow-building, starting on a rather confusing note before developing in something more. There was groveling, but not as much as I was expecting after everything.
It's still exciting to see how they give in to their feelings, and one by one, they become her protectors.
P.s. I also loved their banter 😆

Conclusion
I'd totally recommend this book if you are looking for a (kind of) fast-paced why-choose paranormal romance, that does not lack a plot or tension and that you could easily read in one day.

Review from a re-read – I first read this a while ago, but I revisited it, because the author announced that they’re “removing it from sale” on March 1st. I’m bummed about that. This book is good, and it sucks that people will no longer be able to read it. So, if you think it sounds good, either go read it on KU soon (before March 1st) or else buy it.

This is a fantasy RH academy bully book (and despite saying "The Void Universe book 1," it's a standalone with no cliffhanger). It’s set in a supernatural world where there are vampires, shifters, etc – and most of them attend a prestigious academy. Devicka (18) is a Void, a rare destructive supernatural who steals other people’s powers. Because of this, everyone hates her, fears her, and ostracizes her. She’s had a lonely life. The government trots her out every so often to punish people (by taking their powers). She doesn’t want to, but she’s forced to. During one of these times, her powers do something unusual. So, she's sent to the academy, to finally learn more about her powers.

There, she meets the 4 heroes: a vampire, a shifter, a necromancer, and an elemental. They're mean to her (except for Hyde the necromancer, but he doesn't interact with her for a while). The school even makes her stay in a shack instead of the dorms, on the grounds of "protecting" other students from her.

This has some qualities that I normally dislike in other stories: by 40% in, she’s still barely interacted with 1 of the heroes. The heroes also don’t grovel enough for bullying her. There’s also a part where she’s nearly killed, and the classmates who do that never get satisfying comeuppance. Despite those things, I really like this book, anyway. The plot and world are interesting. Devicka is a pretty great heroine, if you like the “lonely heroine with a shitty life, who is resilient and finds love and learns to assert herself more” type. Which I do! She's easy to root for. Even though I could have used more grovel from the heroes, she didn’t feel like a doormat.

Her Void powers are fascinating and unique. The worldbuilding is done well– it’s easy to visualize and follow all the fantasy stuff. This is a rare standalone that I wish was a duet or trilogy. It could use a bit more room to breathe, and there was some stuff that I wish was explored in more depth. I wish Hyde had gotten more page time, and her dad.

(Also, the one person who is lucky this book is getting taken down is author J Bree. Because, this came out 2 years before her book Broken Bonds, and while the 2 books are different enough that I wouldn't use the P-word, Broken Bonds 100% feels like it copied its basic idea from this book: a heroine with light blonde hair gets put at a supernatural school, where her classmates ostracize her and everyone is mean to her. The heroes are mean to her, and assume the worst about her. She has unusual dangerous powers. Her hero who is a shifter can even turn into a And, by the end of this book, she’s calling the guys her “bonds.”)

Anyway, it’s a bummer that this book is getting taken down (for BS sounding reasons - their announcement made it sound like it's because it's different from the vibe of their current books, and the ones they each want to write, going forward). That makes me not want to support either of these authors anymore. There are lots of authors where their older books are different vibes or subgenres from their newer books. So what? No need to delete the old ones from existence! Most other authors leave their old books up, and we fans understand that authors evolve. Taking this book down feels like a middle finger to fans. This book isn't perfect, but it’s unique and interesting, and it sucks that new readers will no longer be able to find it.

You know what, Raven Kennedy NEVER disappoints! Even with the whole Bully/Academy craze, that girl can weave a unique spin on a story. This was really enjoyable despite the fact that it was missing some of RK's amazing word vomit humor. Sometimes as a reader I find myself infuriated by the injustice of bully romances.. yea it doesn't stop me from enjoying them, but I do find myself wanting to commit murder.. Its like Raven knew that some of us readers need for at least some of the Bully's to get some sort of retribution early to tide us over so she teamed up with Coralee June to give us our justice.. kind of literally and figuratively. Not only that but we also got an incredible new world with all new supernatural and backstories all woven together great with characters that exhibit range and chemistry. Yea.. bait.. line.. sinker.. You freaking go girls!

FMC Devicka, has been banished. Outcast by the council because of her powers. She is a Void, the most feared of supernaturals. Just touching someone can steal their powers away and feed her own. But not only did the council outcast her now they want to use her as a weapon to steal the powers of supernaturals that they have convicted. Only something else happens when she releases her powers, and she accidentally switches 2 supernaturals powers. Now it seems she can be a tool of an altogether different variety.. one of value. Shipping her to the supernatural school in order to work on her powers to be able to do it on command, Devicka is placed in the care of the "Paragons" the strongest of the new generation supernatural groups. They must keep her in check, but have decided that instead they want to make her run the other way.. only they really have no idea what they are up against and "The Void" has some karma of her own to deliver.. and that biotch don't play.

I loved that despite Devicka herself being a little on the downtrodden side after all she has been through she is sarcastic and her supernatural side is incredibly strong.. she is not a victim. I also super enjoyed the backstory and plot that we find ourselves in. Despite being a RH, and having to focus on the relationships a bit in order to create the connection between all the characters these author's never let the plot fall to the wayside really weaving it together cohesively. In all honesty I'm a little torn here at the end.. surely its not really over..

Devicka is a rare Void - she drains the power right out of any supernatural in her vicinity. Thus, she is an outcast, hated and feared, and used by the supernatural council at their will to punish prisoners. When she accidentally swaps the powers of two people instead of draining them, everyone in the supernatural community begins to take notice of her. She's sent off to the school were all the prodigies go and is introduced to the four paragons of each supernatural race who have been tasked to babysit her. No one is surprised more than them when they find themselves drawn to her and her power.

Damn Raven Kennedy and Coralee June know how to write a damn good one-off RH! At first, I really wasn't liking the bully romance angle at the beginning. Part of me is still really reluctant to try to enjoy a romance with mental/emotional abuse at its foundation. But thankfully, it turned around pretty quickly and the MMCs ceased to be bullies. I actually liked how they subtly started challenging her to fight back and before we knew it, they were her biggest supporters. That was well done.

I almost wish there was a follow-up book. I would have liked to have more of Hyde. He was HI-LAR-I-OUS! But.....I'm also relieved that it is a one-off. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am.

If i wasn't too stubborn I would probably left this book log ago... I wish I did.

Don't let the 400 pages length think that its a substantial book. I'm pretty sure if you remove the repetitiveness in it it wouldn't be longer than 100. Why, oh why do we need to be reminded about everything every darn paragraph! I get it, Devicka is a Void. I get it, her life sucks! I don't need to read about it in 100 different ways over and over again. The only thing that I did forget was actually the name of the main character.

And don't get me started on the inconsistent characteristics. The Void (yeah.. im not calling her by her name anymore because the author didn't bother to for 90% of the book) suppose to be thick-skinned. That was literally first thing she said - she dealt with this all her life so she can take it....2 chapters later and she is nearly in tears over EVERYTHING! She suppose to be this risk taker....like 3 times in a book. LITERALLY! I counted.

The relationship is just rubbish! Every time I feel like The Void will start showing some backbone, the author just turn her back into moosh! I get the whole bond thing that HAVE to bring them together, but surely girl could grow a pair and stand her ground and follow her morals foe a change.

Also there were so many slip ups form author that were giving away the plot its ridiculous.

I guess the only positive is that this is actually quite a unique idea. I not sure I read anything from that point of view, but still soooo disappointing!

I like Raven Kennedy’s books. But this one... Nope.

The idea is great, but authors made it an another bully romance kind of story. And I hate bully romances. People say, that they read stories like that for taste of vengeance. But is there a vengeance in the Void? No, there is not. Just another weak heroine, happy, because mean but important boys became her mates. Geeezzz...

SOME SPOILERS BELOW:

This book was AMAZING!! I love when paranormal romance is mixed with the new adult genre! This was definitely a bully romance that had a sweet ending. I loved how Devicka found herself and learned to love her power even with all the odds against her! I love how the author was able to represent all of the different paranormals into the story and give them a primary role in the story (elemental, shifter, vampire, and necromancer). I've gotta say necromancer stories have always been my favorite :)

*******
A few things drew me to this book like the fact that it’s a reverse harem and also a stand-alone. It is a ‘bully-esque’ romance between one lucky lady and four guys and considering the length of the book I think the authors did a fairly good job creating unique and interesting characters as well as a story about supernaturals with their own twist. I will say personally I’m not a fan of bully reads. For about 50% I was just enraged. The storyline was easy to follow and captivating but aside from two characters (her BFF and father) every flipping person in her life, hell her world were @$$holes. I was actually livid at some points and had to take a break because the heroine while also interesting was so damn complacent and robotic. Since she was ten and her own powers of being a Void manifested, her entire world went awry. Shunned, outcasted, feared and hated by everyone in the community, her mother included. As I find typical in reads like this, the heroine barely gave the guys grief for their behavior up until that point. I mean they were cruel. And we can all admit sometimes mental and verbal abuse can be a lot worse than physical. I really wanted her to reach a boiling point, get fed up and just obliterate the world and I still don’t feel retribution. Sure there was a happy ending, things resolve and all is hunky dory in the world but the heroine never lived up to my expectations. The plot was laid out very early on and there were not too many surprises even during the climax. I’m happy with the story but I think I’ll be treading very lightly when it comes to these types of books from now on. I think the added effect of multiple men just makes the bullying/abuse whatever you want to call it worse. It’s like the heroine is being ganged up on and while I would hope eventually a heroine out there will surprise me and give back twice as good as she gets, I’m not sure I’m up to the emotional drain books like this cause me lol. Either way I still enjoyed the plot and fans of this type of stuff will eat it right up.

Well well...that was bloody brilliant!
A paranormal character that is half demon that takes away the power of other paranormal creatures, a vampire, a necromancer, a shifter and an elementist?! I was like "Yes please!"
What more could you ask for?!
Void has it all.. a paranormal reverse harem, bully, enemies to lovers romance.
This book had me hooked!

I honestly stopped reading halfway because it was already 2 AM but 30 minutes of tossing and turning...I was restless for more. I wanted to continue reading so I said " screw sleep! I need more.".
Right now, I am a ridiculously happy content reader because Void was good.
It was erotic, adventurous, mysterious, sizzling with chemistry and sexual tension..oh man! I could go on and on.
Grab this book ASAP!

Amazing!

Wow this was absolutely freaking amazing! I'm so sad it's over. I want more of these guys! They each had something to bring to the table and were on so HOT! Talk about a dream harem right there! I've always been a fan of these authors but this took that to a new level! I'm in awe of the raw passion that was put into this book! I loved it!
