The weapon is codenamed "Razor" the brainchild of the brilliant minds at Dreamland a mobile chemical laser system with a range of 600 kilometers capable of downing anything that flies. The destruction of an American aircraft over northern Iraq suggests the inexplicable and unthinkable: a vengeful foe now possesses the lethal technology. It is fear that draws a retired warrior back to the battlefield, and sends Dreamland's best pilots to the skies to determine what the enemy has and to help take it away from him. But politics threatens to crush a covert engagement that must be won in the air and on the ground, unleashing a devastating rain of friendly fire that could ultimately annihilate a nation's champions ... and perhaps Dreamland

He was a navigator-bombardier in the B-52G Stratofortress heavy bomber and the FB-111A supersonic medium bomber, and is the recipient of several military decorations and awards including the Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Combat Crew Award, and the Marksmanship ribbon. Dale was also one of the nation's first Air Force ROTC cadets to qualify for and complete the grueling three-week U.S. Army Airborne Infantry paratrooper training course.
Dale is a director and volunteer pilot for AirLifeLine, a non-profit national charitable medical transportation organization who fly needy persons free of charge to receive treatment. He also supports a number of organizations to support and promote law enforcement and reading.
Dale Brown is a member of The Writers Guild and a Life Member of the Air Force Association and U.S. Naval Institute. Like all the Dreamland thrillers, Razor's Edge is a spellbinding read; fast-paced and riveting. Dale Brown's USAF background, combined with Jim DeFelice's techno-thriller writing ability, makes for a pairing bound to keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely highly recommended.
Not one of Brown's finest. The plot marches on in very neat detail and it's unbelievable. First, the reader mispronounces "ELINT" with a short E...many times. Then, the author would have us believe that a B-52, even a highly modified one can land on a 1500 foot runway created with metal matting. A base is established in the middle east using a half dozen guys, mostly pilots...pilots can do anything. Finally, the reader slogs through specifics that don't make sense because they aren't real. I finally gave up because I have better things to do with my time then listen to Charlie Brown's teacher drone on in my ear.
This book is so full of characters and hot machines you get lost pulling 6 G's and all the missiles flying at you and from your fellow pilots and the stories over. There better be another book or I am going to be very disappointed. Good job Dale Brown!
I love Dale Brown's books. Every circumstance was believable. And the details were understandable even for a non-military guy. I can't wait to read his next edition.
US aircraft shot down mysteriously of Iraq. Turns out that Iraqi's have a laser weapon. Whiplash go in, destroy weapon.

Typical Dreamland book. I enjoy them. The men and women fight for this country and I appreciate the story very much. The technology and military equipment descriptions add a great deal to the story. I will continue to read this series and look forward to the rest of the books being added to the Kindle.
I thought this was a new read for me but I realized soon after starting that I must have read it before. It may have been the first Dreamland series book I read.
Not a bad story, always enjoy Dale Brown's writing.
Another installment of the "Dreamland" series/soap opera pitting our heroes against the Iranians and the use of a militarized LASER weapon against Coalition air forces...decent, entertainng read
Too hard to keep track of characters and way too many acronyms that are impossible to remember. Thought it would be like a Tom Clancy, but doesn't hold a candle.
Very Good; Continuing characters: Dreamland team; high tech (maybe too high tech) story about US forces trying to determine what new weapon has shot down multiple planes in the Middle East
