Noah and Elliot were ridiculously sweet hahaha but the storyline was kind of over the top, kinda cliche and sort of predictable.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
This book was different of what I expected, and definitely different from other books that I've read by this author... Well, except for the Irish guy and slangs... That wasn't new to me on her stories.
I haven't read lots of amnesia's books, so I was curious about this one.
It was interesting to see how it evolved, but it was much more closer to the drama side than anything else, including romance.
Yes, she wakes up from her coma after a car accident forgetting her past 5 years, including her husband.
She thinks she's 5 years younger and still dating and very much in love with her ex boyfriend... AKA: the hot firefighter who never forgot the one who got away.
Almost the whole book happens in the hospital, and although it may sound boring, it was really addicting to see the tangled mess been untangled one knot at time.
There wasn't much mystery around what happened to Noah or who was to blame for, so I guess it was just okay.
Predictable but still interesting.
🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧
It took me a hot minute to get used to a British female narrator and an Irish male narrator... It was weird and I didn't liked their accents, but i guess that makes sense since that's what the characters are... British and Irish.
Not my favorite audiobook though.

I didn't like that the heroine is called Noah as to me that's a male name. I found it off putting to read.
I also didn't like how the author writes Elliot's Irish accent into his speech. I found it distracting.
The book has a few flashbacks but weirdly the first one is Elliot and Noah's first time having sex (they lose their virginity to each other) and then the next flashback is their first kiss? They had a 7 year relationship but the other flashback is to why they broke up. It was because Noah overheard Elliot telling his friend that due to his parents divorcing after such a long marriage he didn't want to get married! They broke up there and then and never spoke to one another again. Noah married someone else and then became distant with her parents and even Elliot's sister Bailey who she was close to. It seemed ridiculous that Elliot hadn't made more effort to try and talk to her and even more ridiculous that they split up after 7 years because he said he didn't want to get married! At this point they're 24. They're the only flashbacks so I didn't really get a sense of how in love they were over the 7 years.
The story starts with Elliot (a Fireman) receiving a voicemail from his sister's phone and it's Noah and all he can hear is Bailey is driving too fast and a garbled message about someone going to kill them. Elliot is called to the crash and rescues Noah but Bailey dies.
Noah wakes up 15 days later from her coma and has lost her memory and thinks it's 2015 and that Elliot is still her boyfriend and that she's still close to her parents. They tell her it's 2020 and that she split up with Elliot and is now married to Anderson but she can't believe it. Anderson been there upsets her so the Dr advises he not visit for a while (which seemed odd to me considering he's her husband!). She asks to see Elliot and from then on he visits her everyday and it's like they're back in a relationship. They don't tell her that Bailey died. Her husband pays her a few late night visits and she tells him how sorry she is that she can't remember but it's obvious to the reader that Anderson has been an abusive husband.
So after 6 weeks, Noah decides her and Elliot will get back together and she'll tell Anderson she wants a divorce. Considering she still can't remember anything it seemed ridiculous that she was just going to divorce her husband who she had been with for 4 years before she waits to see if her memory comes back?! Elliot at this point has told her why they split up but she doesn't care and just wants to get back with him.
I wouldn't say this book is romantic. I didn't really feel the love between Elliot and Noah or any emotion. The story held no emotion considering the plotline. When they have sex again, Noah performs oral sex on Elliot but he tells her although he has slept with other women during their time apart he did not let them perform oral on him nor did he perform oral on them and that he didn't even kiss them! (I find that hard to believe, who wants to be with a man who doesn't kiss you during sex?!). She moves back into the flat they used to share and everything is as it was but then she finds out Bailey died and is hysterical (again, no emotion in the writing) and then Elliot plays her the voicemail she left him when she was in the car with Bailey but as she hadn't seen her at that point for 4 years they don't know why she was with her.
She decides to go and end things with Anderson (Elliot takes her and waits outside). Obviously he is not happy and has drugged her cup of tea then hits her on the head (she has a brain injury from the car accident and a broken leg). When she comes around she remembers everything and that Anderson had been an abusive husband. She had a scar over her eyebrow from a time he put her in hospital (how come Elliot didn't notice this scar and wonder how she got it?) but remembers other times she ended up in hospital due to his abuse and how he alienated her from her friends and family. Then she remembers that she was leaving him the night of the accident and that she decided to ask Bailey (who she hadn't spoken to in 4 years) to come and pick her up but Anderson follows them and that's how they crashed as there was black ice. Then Anderson become psycho and decides they will die together and he will set their flat and the block of flats on fire. Luckily she had been able to record all this on her mobile! Elliot sees people fleeing from the building then rescues her. Anderson is burnt and taken to hospital. Noah ends up with another brain injury thanks to Anderson hitting her on the head and is put in a coma for 10 days.
In the epilogue it's 5 years later. She now has her own florist named after Bailey. They have a four year old son named Baylor (after Bailey) and she is pregnant with their second child and hoping it's a girl so she can call her Bailey! Bit overkill! Also she obviously got pregnant quite quickly after her second brain injury!
Then it's mentioned that Anderson faced trial for numerous offences which added together meant he would spend the rest of his life in prison. Hmm..not sure how his offences would add up to a life sentence (he didn't cause Bailey's death, she was driving too fast on black ice)?
I know this is an established author but this felt very amateurish to me.

«Non voglio essere innamorato come gli altri, ma come i miei genitori. Un sentimento così profondo da farti diventare parte dell’altra persona, qualcosa per cui valga la pena lottare».
E Noah quelle parole le ricordava ancora benissimo perché le aveva impresse nella sua mente.
Allora per quale ragione si era svegliata in un ospedale piena di ferite, con parte della memoria compromessa e parecchi episodi degli ultimi anni che non ricordava più?
Il tremendo incidente di cui era stata vittima le aveva indotto il coma. Tutto era strano e confuso e a Noah sembrava d’impazzire.
Mi sentivo una sconosciuta nel mio stesso corpo, nella mia stessa vita. Non sapevo a chi credere e la realtà in cui vivevo non mi apparteneva più. Ero persa.
Gli ultimi cinque anni della sua vita erano spariti. Sapeva solo che con Elloit era finita in malo modo e che aveva sposato Anderson perché i suoi genitori glielo avevano detto.
Quel tizio era suo marito ma non lo ricordava. Avrebbe dovuto provare amore per lui, o almeno attrazione fisica, ma non sentiva nulla.
Sembrava una persona fantastica, aveva l’impressione che tenesse molto a lei ma il suo cuore non lo conosceva.

In my opinion this book was an okay read. I liked it but in the end the story was predictable. I have seen movies where the MCs meet with an accident and lose their memory, which leads to them to either forget or/and remember their old/new love so I hoped that the author would bring something fresh to the storyline since the blurb sounded interesting but there was nothing new about it. The plot line lacked a backstory, especially with regards to Noah and her marrying Anderson soon after her break up with her 'soul mate' Elliot and who she doesn't remember after the accident that causes her memory loss. The reason for Noah and Elliot's break up was pretty lame as well...they could have easily sorted out the misunderstanding through dialogue. I also felt that Anderson's character could have been more developed but instead he remained only a character type throughout the book.

I loved this book, it was intense and engaging I couldn’t stop listening.
Noah is in a horrible accident and the doctor doesn’t want her to know too much because what she remembers isn’t the present and when she tries to it only hurts her.
So her family and friends do as the doctor says but when weeks go by and she wants no needs to know more it’s not easy to give the truth. Because the truth hurts in more ways than one.
I don’t know that I agree with some of it, because it felt too cookie cutter for some parts but I didn’t really care I just enjoyed the book.
Fantastic book. LOVED the narration I will be looking for more books with these narrators.
Noah is in a horrible accident and the doctor doesn’t want her to know too much because what she remembers isn’t the present and when she tries to it only hurts her.

I read other books with similar plots and I find it intriguing and juicy

Um. I'm going to attempt to write this review without giving more than basic spoilers, but there's a lot to unpack. So fair warning.
It... wasn't great. I've read books by this author before, so I was intrigued by the blurb and looking forward to a mysterious, unique story. But this is the hottest of messes. Mixing flashbacks with present day, we get snippets of the relationship between Noah (heroine) and Elliot, before and after things fell apart for them. Noah's husband is part of the story, but remains an afterthought throughout, so if you're not a fan of cheating, then this one won't be for you (more on that in a minute). It's also got body shaming, a manhoe ex, a stupid breakup, and plenty of triggers.
The story follows Noah as she wakes up in the hospital. She's got no memories of the last four years, so when she discovers that she's married, it seems all wrong. Last Noah knew, she was very much in love with Elliot, and now he's not even a part of her life. But the accident brought him back into her orbit, and the feelings between them are as strong as ever. As Noah tries to remember the last few years, she struggles with all of the changes in her life.
This could've been great and it really just... wasn't. We only get little pieces of Noah and Elliot's relationship and the flashbacks are told out of order, so it was difficult to root for them - especially since Noah is married. Not that that stopped her at all. Yes, they sleep together with little regard to the fact that she's got a husband who has declared his love for her and she doesn't remember their relationship. Noah simply moves on without informing him that she's doing so. Noah is also extremely upset to discover that's she's "fat" (size 16), and believes Elliot would be embarrassed to be seen with her. There are some comments made that will likely offend some readers, especially since size 16 is in fact average. And let's not forget the reason they broke up. The reasoning behind it does NOT paint Noah in the best light, but I also hated that Elliot became a manhoe afterwards despite still being very much in love with Noah. Because of course he did. There's no falling in love in this "romance," these two are essentially ready to forget that the last 4 years ever happened. So don't go into this one for the love story, but the drama is also extremely predictable. That all adds up to a book that's not all that fulfilling to read. I appreciated receiving an early copy via NetGalley (and am voluntarily leaving a review), but I can't say that this was a winner for me.

Noah's husband is part of the story, but remains an afterthought throughout, so if you're not a fan of cheating, then this one won't be for you (more on that in a minute). It's also got body shaming, a manhoe ex, a stupid breakup, and plenty of triggers.
The story follows Noah as she wakes up in the hospital. She's got no memories of the last four years, so when she discovers that she's married, it seems all wrong. Last Noah knew, she was very much in love with Elliot, and now he's not even a part of her life. But the accident brought him back into her orbit, and the feelings between them are as strong as ever. As Noah tries to remember the last few years, she struggles with all of the changes in her life.
This could've been great and it really just... wasn't. We only get little pieces of Noah and Elliot's relationship and the flashbacks are told out of order, so it was difficult to root for them - especially since Noah is married. Not that that stopped her at all. Yes, they sleep together with little regard to the fact that she's got a husband who has declared his love for her and she doesn't remember their relationship. Noah simply moves on without informing him that she's doing so. Noah is also extremely upset to discover that's she's "fat" (size 16), and believes Elliot would be embarrassed to be seen with her. There are some comments made that will likely offend some readers, especially since size 16 is in fact average. And let's not forget the reason they broke up. The reasoning behind it does NOT paint Noah in the best light, but I also hated that Elliot became a manhoe afterwards despite still being very much in love with Noah. Because of course he did. There's no falling in love in this "romance," these two are essentially ready to forget that the last 4 years ever happened. So don't go into this one for the love story, but the drama is also extremely predictable. That all adds up to a book that's not all that fulfilling to read. I appreciated receiving an early copy via NetGalley (and am voluntarily leaving a review), but I can't say that this was a winner for me.

I protagonisti del romanzo sono Noah e Elliot. Noah si risveglia in ospedale dopo un brutto incidente e non ha memoria di quello che le è accaduto negli ultimi cinque anni. Sa solo di aver bisogno della presenza e del conforto di Elliot, il suo primo amore.
Elliot è un pompiere; è stato lui a salvare la ragazza quella drammatica notte e ora che l’ha ritrovata non ha intenzione di perderla nuovamente. Deve però fare i conti con l’amnesia della donna e con l’uomo che lei ha sposato tre anni prima: Anderson.
L.A. Casey ha donato ai suoi personaggi una caratterizzazione profonda e veritiera. I protagonisti sono complessi e ben definiti. Un ottimo lavoro è stato svolto anche con i personaggi secondari, perfettamente inseriti nel contesto.
L’introspezione così accurata mi ha permesso di entrare in forte empatia con i protagonisti. Elliot è un personaggio ben riuscito; ironico, forte al punto di trovare il coraggio di sorridere anche in situazioni tormentate. Non ha paura di mostrare le proprie debolezze ed esprimere ciò che sente. Noah, nonostante tutto ciò che le capita, è una tipa tosta. È riflessiva e determinata a riprendere in mano la propria vita.
Come potrei non adorare due personaggi che vorrei come amici nella vita di tutti i giorni?!
Un altro punto estremamente favorevole è la trama accattivante che, abbinata a un lessico chiaro, ben curato e diretto, cattura il lettore.
Personalmente ho divorato un capitolo dopo l’altro. Avevo urgenza di scoprire tutto ciò che Noah aveva rimosso, soprattutto la causa della fine di un amore molto profondo, tra l’altro ben raccontato.
Intrecciando alla perfezione presente e passato l’autrice crea suspense, senza mai cadere in refusi.
Il romanzo tocca con delicatezza temi molto attuali come la violenza domestica, la malattia e il lutto. Il tutto raccontato con lievità, ma senza traccia di superficialità.
Il libro è stato un crescendo di emozioni forti e contrastanti: gioia, tristezza e rabbia, fuse in un mix violento che mi ha tenuto col fiato sospeso fino all’epilogo.
Per far felici anche i più esigenti, vi racconterò anche cosa mi ha convinto un po’ meno.
Le scene sessuali non mancano, ma in alcuni punti ho trovato il loro inserimento forzato e anacronistico.
Un amore da dimenticare è per me, sicuramente, un libro che merita cinque stelle. Oltre la bella storia romanzata, ciò che più me l’ha fatto apprezzare è il messaggio che mi ha trasmesso: cercare la forza per andare avanti, anche quando tutto sembra buio e quando mollare sembra l’unica scelta fattibile, la via più semplice.

Le storie dove i protagonisti hanno già un passato mi piacciono tanto perché si evita la parte delle conoscenza e si parte subito al centro della storia, queste situazioni rendono molto più fluida la lettura, e in questi casi la Casey è bravissima. Come è bravissima anche nel gestire la parte triste della storia, il dolore che prova Naoh nello scoprire la verità della notte del suo incidente è talmente intenso che, durante la lettura di quelle pagine, mi sono ritrovata spesso ad avere la vista appannata.
Con Noah e Elliot ho riso, ho pianto e mi sono anche arrabbiata quando alla fine si è scoperto il motivo della loro separazione, perché un equivoco da nulla ha generato una serie di circostanze che hanno portato ad un tragico epilogo. La motivazione è talmente stupida da essere assurda, ma anche questa è la bravura della Casey, spiazzarti sempre con cose che sono così fuori di testa da essere perfette.
Come perfetto alla fine è stato l'epilogo di questo romanzo, dove tutto è tornato nella giusta prospettiva e il lieto fine, per quanto possibile perché il dolore di quello che è successo non andrà mai via, è di quelli che chiudono la storia come meglio non si poteva.

Avevo sempre saputo di essere più fragile ed emotiva di molti altri. Prendevo le cose sul personale anche quando non avrei voluto.

Mi ha fatto stringere il cuore: è una ragazza pura e dall’animo buono ma con delle insicurezze che si rivelano essere anche motivo di forza. Ha spesso bisogno di essere rassicurata dalle persone che ama. È molto fragile e delicata, ma nonostante questo lotta per quello in cui crede, decisa a non scendere mai a compromessi. Leggendo la sua storia e assaporandola pagina dopo pagina, non ho potuto far a meno di ammirarla per il suo coraggio.

Anderson è il marito di Noah, un personaggio presente ma marginale all’inizio del libro.
Lo scopriremo soltanto successivamente, in quanto rimarrà per parecchio tempo avvolto nel mistero, salvo sporadici avvicinamenti in ospedale. Posso solo dire che è stato difficile maturare un’opinione su di lui, anche se nella prima parte si mostra la sua sofferenza per la lontananza da sua moglie. Non posso svelarvi niente, solo che sicuramente questo personaggio sarà quello che che vi lascerà senza parole!
La storia è raccontata da più di un POV ed è in prima persona; il romanzo nella parte predominante è scritto al tempo presente alternandosi a brevi ricordi del passato, grazie ai quali scopriremo a come siamo giunti con Noah nella camera dell’ospedale.
Nei flasback, viviamo a pieno la storia di Noah e capiamo il motivo delle sue scelte, caratteristica del libro che ho apprezzato molto perché ha arricchito la trama, rendendola più completa.
La scrittura è scorrevole e la storia, che credevo trattasse solamente di un triangolo amoroso, si è riscoperta più intensa e appassionante.
Un amore da dimenticare non è una semplice storia d’amore, racconta anche di un tema purtroppo ancora attuale nell’epoca moderna; un tema che mi ha stretto il cuore e mi ha portato ad avere una totale empatia con il personaggio coinvolto. Sono stata emotivamente stravolta per svariati motivi e sono sicura che anche voi farete tutti la mia stessa fine. Ho provato una tensione continua man mano che le pagine scorrevano e capivo sempre più dove la storia andasse a parare, fino a trovarmi all’epilogo con il fiato sospeso.
Amavo Noah Ainsley e l’avrei amata per sempre. Era la mia donna.
Grazie a questo libro ho capito e confermato l’importanza nell’avere sempre fiducia nel nostro istinto: malgrado la testa e il cuore siano importanti, lui non sbaglia mai. È imprescindibile e una dura realtà. L’istinto a volte può salvarti la vita, e sarà quello a guidare Noah insieme alla consapevolezza che pian piano si farà strada in lei.
Se cercate una storia d’amore leggera e divertente questo non è il libro adatto a voi!

Sono rimasta molto sorpresa da me stessa, dato che di solito prediligo romance più leggeri e divertenti; stavolta mi sono addentrata in qualcosa di più intenso ma non me ne pento per niente: quando l’autrice è una best nel campo, ci sono solo garanzie! L'autrice ha saputo prendermi e arrivarmi fino al cuore, nonostante mi trovassi di fronte a un genere che tendo a evitare.

This wasn’t a bad book but I was hoping for more.I was honestly wanting more suspense then what I got. This book was just a lot about Noah and her loving Elliot. That wasn’t a bad thing, I just was hoping for suspense before the 80% Mark especially with how it ended. There was a lot of throwing in Ye due to an accent but then other times it was you. That got a little annoying because it didn’t stay consistent. It would have been different if it came out due to strong emotions but that wasn’t the case for the most part. The plot was really good. A little predictable most of the time but it wasn’t bad. I liked both Noah and Elliot. These were likable and easy to relate too. #2OCCJD

L.A. Casey strikes again!!! This author storylines are absolutely explosive and the best thing is that Irish Accent she has in some of her books. I absolutely love it!!! Also the funny scenes have me laughing so hard which automatically puts all her books on my top favourites shelf.
This one was no less. It was a standalone contemporary second chance Romance that I loved a lot! The Story was amazing and so were the characters. Noah has been in a terrifying accident. She has lost her memory of the last 5 years and the last thing she remembers is being with her soulmate, Elliot. He is the boy whom she has known right from her childhood and has always loved. They were childhood sweethearts and we're destined for each other.
Imagine her surprise when she gets to know that she broke up with him years ago and is now married to another man , Anderson. She has no idea who he is and just wants to be with Elliot.
Elliot can't imagine his luck. Noah has been the girl who he has always loved. That is until he messed it all up , forcing her to marry someone else. He never got over her. So now when she looks at him with love in her eyes again , can handle that? Win her again? Not to mention her marriage status. Anderson sure isn't going down without a fight.
This book's was absolutely amazing! It has that funny parts and those amazing twists that this author has in her books which make them so freaking amazing! A definite top read of mine and a must read for all the contemporary romance lovers out there!

La valutazione di questo romanzo mi ha messo davvero in difficoltà. Il libro mi è piaciuto e anche molto ma leggendo la trama non si può fare a meno di paragonarlo alla trilogia di Lexi Ryan "Un cuore non basta" (e per chi come me lo ha letto, sa che stiamo parlando di un indimenticabile) questo confronto va purtroppo a discapito della Casey.
Le aspettative di partenza infatti altissime, dato che il tema alla base è certamente il medesimo e per altro molto particolare, perdita di memoria a seguito di un incidente ma sappiate che per il resto i due libri hanno molto poco in comune, quindi fate di tutto per non paragonarli per godervi appieno il viaggio.
Un amore da dimenticare inizia in uno stato di accelerazione massima. L'autrice ci mostra subito l'intensa storia d'amore che i due protagonisti, Noah e Elliot, vivono a partire dai loro diciassette anni. Questa parte ha un'energia romantica potentissima, vivremo il loro innamoramento e la loro prima volta, con maestria la Casey trascina il lettore in una magia riuscendo a fargli provare le loro insicurezze e l'intensità dei loro sentimenti e della loro attrazione. Per passare poi subito al presente, 7 anni dopo, dove un tragico incidente automobilistico costringe Noah in un letto d'ospedale in gravi condizioni.
incontreremo, in questo libro, due personaggi interessanti che ti catturano subito. In particolare Elliot non si può non amarlo, un eroico quanto aitante pompiere di origini irlandesi innamoratissimo della sua Noah, che non riesce a dimenticare neanche dopo anni di separazione. E' proprio Elliot che salva la vita a Noah. Primo sul luogo dell'incidente, riesce ad estrarre il suo corpo dall'auto prima che questa vada in fiamme.
Quando Noah si sveglia chiede immediatamente di lui, senza rendersi conto che 5 anni della sua vita sono stati cancellati dalla sua memoria, inclusa tutta la sua storia e la sua vita coniugale con Anderson.
Mentre la memoria di Noah è fuori portata, lei fatica a venire a patti con il fatto di essere sposata con uno sconosciuto, e di avere un rapporto teso con i suoi genitori, non riesce a capire come la sua vita possa essere così cambiata da quella che lei ricorda. E soprattutto come la storia con Elliot possa essere finita quando il suo vero cuore le lancia il chiaro messaggio che è lui che vuole.
Il disturbo da stress post-traumatico e la significativa lesione cerebrale subita nell'orribile incidente, sono ragioni plausibili per la perdita di memoria di Noah. Ma, l'istinto spinge Noah ed Elliott a guardare oltre la causa superficiale dell'incidente e questo crea qualche intrigo efficace per la trama. Sebbene ci siano abbastanza indizi dappertutto per suggerire dove si trovino le risposte, il climax è molto più oscuro del previsto.

In particolare Elliot non si può non amarlo, un eroico quanto aitante pompiere di origini irlandesi innamoratissimo della sua Noah, che non riesce a dimenticare neanche dopo anni di separazione. E' proprio Elliot che salva la vita a Noah. Primo sul luogo dell'incidente, riesce ad estrarre il suo corpo dall'auto prima che questa vada in fiamme.
Quando Noah si sveglia chiede immediatamente di lui, senza rendersi conto che 5 anni della sua vita sono stati cancellati dalla sua memoria, inclusa tutta la sua storia e la sua vita coniugale con Anderson.
Mentre la memoria di Noah è fuori portata, lei fatica a venire a patti con il fatto di essere sposata con uno sconosciuto, e di avere un rapporto teso con i suoi genitori, non riesce a capire come la sua vita possa essere così cambiata da quella che lei ricorda. E soprattutto come la storia con Elliot possa essere finita quando il suo vero cuore le lancia il chiaro messaggio che è lui che vuole.
Il disturbo da stress post-traumatico e la significativa lesione cerebrale subita nell'orribile incidente, sono ragioni plausibili per la perdita di memoria di Noah. Ma, l'istinto spinge Noah ed Elliott a guardare oltre la causa superficiale dell'incidente e questo crea qualche intrigo efficace per la trama. Sebbene ci siano abbastanza indizi dappertutto per suggerire dove si trovino le risposte, il climax è molto più oscuro del previsto.

Dispersivo è la prima parola che mi viene in mente per descriverlo. Nel raccontare le vicissitudini dei due personaggi principali l'autrice si è un po' persa nei personaggi secondari e su dei dettagli che al fine della storia hanno una valenza pressoché inutile. Il risultato è che per metà della lettura non sapevo dove sarebbe andata a parere.
Un po' un casino insomma.
Avrei di gran lunga preferito si concentrasse di più sul raccontare di come Noah ed Elliot si ritrovano dopo 5 anni di lontananza. Di come recuperano un legame che non si è mai spezzato. Ecco, avrei voluto parlasse di loro, non del catetere e delle smagliature di Noah.
Il pov alternato e i salti temporali tra passato e presente salvano un po' il libro, ma nessun miracolo sia chiaro.
Il motivo della separazione non sta proprio in piedi e la parte più interessante forse l'ha fatta Anderson il marito di cui la protagonista manco si ricorda.
Sono curiosa di sapere se anche secondo voi la Casey ha perso un po' del suo smalto dopo la storia dei fratelli Slater..

La valutazione di questo romanzo mi ha messo davvero in difficoltà. Il libro mi è piaciuto e anche molto ma leggendo la trama non si può fare a meno di paragonarlo alla trilogia di Lexi Ryan "Un cuore non basta" (e per chi come me lo ha letto, sa che stiamo parlando di un indimenticabile) questo confronto va purtroppo a discapito della Casey.
Le aspettative di partenza infatti altissime, dato che il tema alla base è certamente il medesimo e per altro molto particolare, perdita di memoria a seguito di un incidente ma sappiate che per il resto i due libri hanno molto poco in comune, quindi fate di tutto per non paragonarli per godervi appieno il viaggio.
Un amore da dimenticare inizia in uno stato di accelerazione massima. L'autrice ci mostra subito l'intensa storia d'amore che i due protagonisti, Noah e Elliot, vivono a partire dai loro diciassette anni. Questa parte ha un'energia romantica potentissima, vivremo il loro innamoramento e la loro prima volta, con maestria la Casey trascina il lettore in una magia riuscendo a fargli provare le loro insicurezze e l'intensità dei loro sentimenti e della loro attrazione. This was my first read by this author and wow, she'll be on my TBR pile now.
This story had all the 'feels'. I don't know why so many reviews are bad, but that's just an opinion and here's mine.
The two main characters had a history, one that was not really over and we'll find out why as the story progresses. Noah has amnesia after a tragic accident giving her and Elliot a second chance to start over. She doesn't know her husband or the last 5 years of her life. You just know there is more to this story, I had an inkling and couldn't wait for the story to unfold as we learned the truth. It was a slow burn, the chemistry sizzled, the characters real and the excitement at the end had my heart racing. Great story and I will look out for more books by this author.

This was like watching over-dramatic Lifetime movie.
You can see from miles where is story going I literally didn't like anything.
I'm sure other's might like it it, but i didn't.

Forgetting You is the lastest second chance romance from author L.A. Casey and it follows the story of Noah and Elliott. When Noah wakes up in a hospital room, she has no idea what happened to her or how she got there. Her brain seems to be stuck 5 years in the past. Noah is horrified to learn that Elliott is no longer hers and that she’s married to someone else. Even though Noah is married to someone else, she can’t deny the pull she feels towards Elliott. Elliott brings Noah calm in an otherwise chaotic world. Noah has a million questions and unfortunately no answers. When the truth finally comes out, Noah must decide which path is right for her….
Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I feel in love with the cover and synopsis immediately. I loved the idea of the story and couldn’t wait to dive in. Noah’s story intrigued me and kept me coming back for more. What was she doing that night? Why was she with Elliott’s sister? How did Elliott and Noah break up? And who the heck is Anderson??
However, there were quite a few things that just didn’t add in this story for me. First of all, I wanted more of a connection and chemistry with Noah and Elliott. Yes, we saw some flashbacks of their past, but I needed more. I needed to see how Elliott was struggling without Noah; how he still held onto his feelings for her despite her being married to someone else. Speaking of being married to someone else, we didn’t really get a lot of answers when it comes to Anderson. I feel like this story could have benefited from a chapter or two from Anderson’s point of view just so the reader could get a feel for him and see his connection to Noah. One of the biggest issues I had was Noah pursuing her feelings for Elliott even though she was technically with Anderson. I understand that she went through major trauma, but it just didn’t make sense. It frustrated me that Elliott went along with it and that is just a big no-no for me. I also felt like the story resolved itself far too quickly. All this build-up and climax and then the story was just over.
I wanted to love this book so much, but in the end, it just left me feeling meh. I guess you could say I had quite the love-hate relationship with this book. I think this is a book that may work for some and leave others hanging. I do think this book had some good things going for it, it just wasn’t a 100% hit for me. That being said, I’m still glad to have checked this book out.

"Come posso guarire Noah quando sono il primo ad essere a pezzi?"
La trama è molto intrigante e originale, ma è stata mal sviluppata.
In generale, è piuttosto ripetitivo (addirittura parti di scene ripetute con entrambi i pov) e fatica ad arrivare al nocciolo della questione; abbiamo una parte di mistero che riguarda l'incidente ed il passato di Noah che non ha quel tocco di adrenalina quando dovrebbe e che è in parte intuibile.
Per il resto, Elliot e Noah sono dolcissimi insieme con tutti quei nomignoli ed Elliot è il tipico principe azzurro con una bella armatura da pompiere, ma subiscono la cattiva struttura della storia.

This one has been sitting on my virtual TBR for awhile now, but I finally got around to reading it and wow, what a ride it was.
In Forgetting You, Noah Ainsley wakes up from a 15 day coma after a traumatic car accident. Due to her brain injury, she wakes up thinking the year is 2015, not 2020. She’s forgotten the last five years of her life and the little fact that she is married to a man that she doesn’t remember. Noah still thinks she’s in a relationship with Elliot, her high school sweetheart that she she was with up till their breakup in 2016.
The story follows the few months after her accident as she begins to piece together the life she’s forgotten and what she is going to do with her life moving forward. So much happens over a relatively short period of time, and honestly, I didn’t see much of it coming.
When Noah woke up from her coma, I was shocked along with her family and Elliot that she had forgotten five (!!!!) years of her life. It was so wild that she forgot the little fact that she was married to someone that wasn't Elliot. It became apparent to me throughout the book that Elliot and Noah were absolutely soulmates and that something in their relationship had gone terribly wrong.
I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out with Noah what happened in their relationship and their time apart to lead to her marrying Anderson. I knew that there was something off about him, but I didn't expect him to be actually psycho crazy and to be abusing Noah. I felt incredibly sorry for everything that she faced through that relationship and happy to see her free from that toxicity and abuse in the end of the book.

I’ve had this book in my library for awhile now. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but I enjoyed this book. It was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. Available on Kindle Unlimited at the time of my review.
