As predicted, this volume is comparatively directed towards Loid and Yor's relationship after the surprise visit from Yor's little brother, Yuri, resulting in one of the most uncomfortable and tension-filled, yet hilarious dinners one ever had. And I refused to believe that we were robbed of their first kiss.
I mean, we're already diving into the third volume and the seed had already been planted, so it is only a matter of time before we know they both would hit it off. But then, that's also the lure because I appreciate the slow burn in the 'potential romance' between Loid and Yor. You can see either of them getting flustered with the words they said to each other, despite it supposed to be under pretense.
Meanwhile, Anya finally earns herself a star after saving a kid from drowning in a pool and we get to get a glimpse of Anya's interaction with homeboy Damian, who may or may not be having a little crush on Anya. Everything happening in this manga got all sorts of odd quirks but remains adorable!
Nothing much changed from what we have read so far but it is still interesting and getting better. Although I will still be in the opinion that it's getting too timely for Loid not to figure out Yor's identity because things started to get a bit obvious, it still wouldn't take away the enjoyment. We're also hinted at a new additional family in the future and I can't wait for it 🥰
I love this fake marriage trope in this volume. This was a bit slower than the first two volumes. And the big reason I am dropping this down a star is Yuri. Yor's brother is so f*cking creepy. He's in love with his sister and am I supposed to be cool with that? It's so gross. But everything else is stunning
cute, wholesome, fun, fascinating, and chaotic!! I COULDNT STOP GRINNING THROUGHOUT THIS VOLUMEEE <333
in this volume we got to meet yori, yor's brother, and im so excited for the next one because we'll get to meet a new member of the fam! the folger is a very interesting fam indeed 👀
This series is the manga equivalent of a Quentin Tarantino collaboration with the Cohen brothers. Farcical, fast paced, bloody, silly, serious emotions, big stakes, stylish, and awkward. We get a little deeper in the character's lives, see the places where the cracks in their family of convenience are going to show and where actual romance and familial love might grow. There's progress on he spy mission, and lots and lots of bizarre yet somehow just right set pieces. It is so over the top and so much fun.
**Thanks to the artist, publisher, and NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I took a star because the relationship between Yor and her brother just comes off sooo weird at times. His obsessed with her is kind of cringe lol. But also this was soooo much fun! I loooove this manga so much and I’m excited to continue further into the series.
This part for me was as beautiful as the rest of the parts, but the previous two parts were the best,👌🏼🔥 aaaaaah, the character of yor's brother was a surprise to me, I expected that he would be one of the most evil characters in a story, but it really surprised me that he is one of the nicest characters, I like how Yuri takes care of his sister and loves her, he is so kind with her.💗 The scenes between Yor and Loid made me laugh😂, especially Loid's attitude towards Yuri's visit to them, and Loid's attempt to hide his identity. I will not finish saying, I love this family so much🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥
A+ for Anya’s expressions, Yor’s accidental murder attempts and Twilight’s slow descent into domestic madness. If you’re not reading this series yet, you’re missing out on the most dysfunctional, lovable fake family in manga history.
🕵️♂️ Twilight, our ever-composed superspy, is still trying to maintain the illusion of a perfect family while navigating the emotional minefield of parenting. His mission? Get his fake daughter into an elite school and somehow not blow his cover. Easy, right? Except Anya, the mind-reading gremlin in question, is more interested in dodgeball diplomacy and cartoonish heroics than academic excellence.
💣 Meanwhile, Yor, the assassin-wife with a heart of gold and fists of steel, continues to be adorably terrifying. Her attempts at being a normal mother are like watching a lion try to knit... but you’re constantly worried someone’s going to bleed.
And LMAO! Yuri is a secret police agent himself. This makes the whole thing legendary!! And Twilight's intelligence?! The way he deduced Yuri's identity??!! Commendable!
Im dritten Band passiert ein bisschen weniger als in den ersten beiden Bänden, aber es hat mir trotzdem gut gefallen. Die Reihe nimmt bestimmt wieder mehr an Fahrt auf.
The best chapters in this volume are the one where at least three family members are involved in the story. It started strong with the opening chapter of Loid meeting his worst nemesis, a brother-in-law with a sister complex working for the secret police. The volume ends with a special chapter of Loid and Yor on a date with Anya trailing the couple like the hero from her favorite spy anime.
Unfortunately, the middle chapter of Anya in school is a bit of drag, still good, but not as great as the bookends. Overall, this is still an excellent volume, better than most manga out right now.
After an amusing visit from Yor's brother, Loid wonders if he should be putting much trust Yor and decides to put her to the test. Meanwhile daughter Anya puts her telepathy to use in a dynamic game of dodgeball. It's all fun, but I'm starting to wonder exactly how many volumes this first mission is going to take. The last few pages seem to imply we're still in the phase of introducing core characters.
Thank goodness for another brief side adventure in the back of the book.
I'm starting to love this manga! this volume was full of fun I couldn't stop laughing, I love the characters and their facial expressions say it all. I lost it with that dinner with yuri he looks so dumb and his bad temper can let him ruin his plans probably, and seriously? he straight up made loid a nickname Loi-Loi?!!! I cant with this guy. Anya carried this volume obviously, I love her now that she knows how to use her power, she has been doing amazing, she takes care of Loid and Yor so much <3
Great things about this volume: the family shenanigans, Yor slapping her brother into another dimension, everyone being an absolute mess which makes for one hell of a humorous story - I even enjoyed the school adventures.
Questionable things in this volume: Incestuous feelings?
Had to do a double take because sister complex is not cute or normal at all.
