Robot is a helper robot , not a delivery robot, an investigator robot, a teaching robot, or a relaxing robot. But in these four charming, fully-illustrated tales, Robot learns that we can all be much more than we were ever programmed to be.
Because Robot isn't a boy or a girl (Robot is a robot), this book is designed to teach the singular they pronoun. Many adults struggle to retrain their brains to get used to non-gendered pronouns, but there's no reason the next generation can't grow up with the singular they as a natural part of their speech, and Robot the Robot can help.
In addition, because Robot has trouble understanding emotions and dealing with social situations, it will particularly appeal to children both on and off the Autism spectrum who have similar struggles.
Collects the first four Robot the Robot Robot the Helper Robot , Robot the Delivery Robot , Robot the Investigator Robot , and Robot the Teaching Robot .

"Robot the Robot is Here to Help" is a great book for an age appropriate classroom, this book is a wonderful option for an easier chapter book. Matt Youngmark discusses gender roles and identifying in the current time period we live in. This book can teach so many life lessons but can been of the more risky controversial topics and might need to be approved by administration and or parents. I thought this was a great read and could be an awesome addition to a lesson on bullying and gender identity. I would probably use this to show that it does not matter if we are girls or boys, it matters what is on the inside.
A charming series of stories in an easy reader format. Robot is an eager and willing helper to his colleagues, an innovative problem solver, and just an all around tryer. Adorable illustrations, a glossary in the back, and a didactic but friendly plot complete the collection of four stories.
