New Year’s Eve. Times Square. I booked the room over a year ago, with the view of the ball dropping. I’ll propose to Charlotte and drop to my knee at the stroke of midnight.
At least, that’s the plan.
But nothing in my life ever goes as planned. Between a last-minute gig that takes me away from her, a blast-from-the-past boyfriend of Charlotte’s, and the resurrection of Esme the blow-up doll, I have to fight for my right —
To make her my wife.
Charlotte. Not Esme. Because that's just gross, man. What's wrong with you?
Liam is finally ready to pop the question to Charlotte after years together, but a last-minute gig and a heaping dose of fate in the form of Darla makes the road to marriage a little bumpier than expected.
Welcome to the Random series, where people propose to chickens, snakes fall in love with blow-up dolls, cell phones become medical devices, and love conquers all, in tune and with three-part harmony.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.

5 Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched stars
Oh how I’ve missed this group of guys and their girls. Random Acts of Crazy are growing up, but ultimately are still living up to their name with their own brand of outrageous behaviour and risky shenanigans. Your secrets are most definitely not safe with this gang, and they seem to live by the adage that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Bearing that in mind, I was interested to see just how Liam would pull off his surprise proposal without some major catastrophe occurring, someone literally putting their foot in it, or at least having to make a trip to the hospital before he got the chance to pop the question. Let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a Random story without a few curve balls and crazy obstacles in the way of true love.
Funny, sexy and often irreverent, with a few poignant moments too, this book had me both laughing out loud and rolling my eyes. I loved Liam and Charlotte together. Although their journey has been a bumpy one, nevertheless they are made for each other. I would say out of all the couples in this series, they have had the most serious issues to deal with and have given us the most sobering moments in amongst all the laughs.
Of course Darla almost steals the show as usual and the problems she’s having with her men could really only happen to her. Outspoken, crude and straight to the point, there’s definitely never a dull moment where she’s concerned.
I’ve really enjoyed this whole series of books. They’re definitely one of a kind; hilarious and silly and erotic, and not for the easily offended! Whilst you don’t need to start from the very beginning to enjoy this book, if you’re new to the series, I would recommend that you do read Liam and Charlotte’s story in Random Acts of Hope in order to fully engage (no pun intended!) with this one. Oh, and *spoiler* although it was touch and go at one point, I’m pleased to report that Mavis survived to live another day!
Since I only found this writer a few new releases back, I’m unfashionably late to the Random party, and I’ve clearly missed a lot!! This is one wild bunch, and there's no lack of their outrageousness in this book. These rock stars and their significant others are rowdy, raucous, irreverent and unrepentant, and there’s never a dull moment when they're between the pages.
Laim and Charlotte had their romance and found their HEA a couple of books ago, but Liam has big plans for New Year's Eve, and they don’t include his band mates. In fact, he's been planning for over a year, and he's determined to make Charlotte's new year unforgettable. But, you know what they say about best laid plans . . .
If you’re new to this series, you may want to read the first part of Liam and Charlotte's story to fully appreciate this one. If you're a diehard Random fan, this book will be the cherry on the ice cream sundae for you.
*I read an early version of this book voluntarily and free of any reciprocal agreement.
It had been a while since I had read one of the Random books, but I loved this one just as much as the others in this series. Hadn't realized just how much I had missed their crazy antics. Darla is still a hoot, and dont even get me started on Trevor and Joe. I loved that we got to read about the regular cast as the band continues its climb as a band. There is of course the emotional side of the story as well... with this story focusing on Liam and Charlotte. The story made me laugh and cry (sometimes because I was laughing so hard, but sometimes from the emotions the characters go through). And, yes, Mavis and Esme made their appearances, too. Just might have to go back and start at the beginning and see where it all began. Love the Random cast and crew and their crazy antics.
It’s been too long since there has been a new Random book and this was worth the wait. Charlotte and Liam have been through a lot after both believing false information and breaking up only to reconnect 4 years later to find out they both hurt for nothing. Now they are together and Liam has been working on his proposal plans for a year. Of course it wouldn’t be a RAOC book if things didn’t get turned upside down, Darla, Joe and Trevor weren’t having issues and Mavis wasn’t around! As usual you will laugh, cringe, swoon and just not want to put this down!
In true Random Acts fashion they gang is back. With the craziness going on. I’ve missed this crazy group. The way personal secrets are revealed that should be private. Nothing is a secret around this group. Liam is going to propose to Charlotte. He has the ring, the site and when he is going to do it. The band is free so he has the time to spend New Years Eve with Charlotte. Crazy things always happens when this gang gets to together. Last minute gig that interrupts their romantic getaway. They gang bursts in the hotel room. Due do unforeseen circumstances the band is playing in Times Square on New Year’s. This series is crazy. I love it! Truly amazing! Love this group together!!
Ohhhhh my freaking God, Julia Kent you have rocked my world with this book, first thank you for the privilege of this ARC, I can't tell you how happy you have made me with this entire series, and continuing the story, I love it and laughed so hard, I want more of them, I want babies for Darla and Charlotte, mini me's of the parents, and happy to see Mavis is still around, the love and tight knit family this group of people have is amazing, thank you again so much for continuing Random Acts of Crazy, can't wait for more, loved this book, thank you again Dana
This is Charlotte & Liam’s story... It includes lawnmower parents & shitty problems at her work, band secrets being let out, stories of their parents sleeping with other people, a bullet vibrator necklace (& now I want to wear this! *laughing*), a chicken who chokes on - well, never mind... All intermingled with Liam’s plans to go to the next level with Charlotte at his side.
This is another great story with descriptive & often funny writing... One example of this is the description of silence as “you could hear a slow leak on sex toy doll in the absence of sound that followed.” Wow!
A book where despite all the plans, everything seems to go wrong... until things go perfectly right!
Phenomenal😍 This book gave me a glimpse into Liam & Charlotte's life💗 It was my 1st book in Random series, & I see a lot is going on!
With Liam ready to propose; Trevor, Joe & Darla having 3some trouble (gotta have to check their book😮); & adulting Christmas parties... Problems keep pouring in😜
With the biggest gig here on new year's Eve in time's square, this may just be the biggest (& Viral) proposal in the Random world!
P.s. I loved Liam's thoughtfulness, their deep talks, the funnies in b/w & all the moments😍
ARC generously provided by the author in exchange for a honest review.
I have been patiently waiting for Julia Kent to write a new book in the Random Acts series and my patience has paid off. I have been so excited for this New Years Eve story that focuses on Liam and Charlotte and what it takes for them to get to the next step in their relationship.
Over a year ago, Liam prepped for the perfect way to ask Charlotte to marry him. He booked a hotel room overlooking Time's Square and the area where they could watch the ball drop at midnight. Liam had everything planned....the perfect room, champagne, the ring and there was nothing that was going to ruin this night! However, if you have read all the books in this series, you will know that nothing ever goes as planned for anyone in this group. Yes, things go haywire, but somehow Darla makes everything work out perfect for the band and for Liam and Charlotte.
I really have missed these characters. This story focuses primarily on Liam and Charlotte, but don't worry because we get to catch up with every crazy character and chicken in this Random Acts series. If you plan to read this story out in public, know that you are warned that it is a strong possibility that you will laugh out loud at many scenes in this book. The books in this series has some of the funniest and sexiest scenes I have ever read and this book is no different. Do I recommend this book, HELL YES, but start with book one and do yourself a favor and order the whole series!
OMG! How I have missed this little group of misfits. It seems like it has been forever.
Though you will see all the usual characters of the RAOC, the story is all Liam's and Charlotte's. Liam has decided that it is time to pop the question to Charlotte and he has planned everything including booking a room around Times Square on New Year's Eve. He knows she doesnt like crowds so the room has a balcony where they can watch the ball drop. So he has the ring, the room booked so what could possibly go wrong? You know with this group that could mean anything. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't give details. Jut remember to be careful if you eat or drink anything while reading cause there is no guarantee that whatever it is will be spit out with the hilarity of this book.
I was given an advance copy of this book in return of an honest review.

Make sure you read the previous books in the series! This was my first read from Julia and this series, but it definitely got me hooked enough to go back and read these books in order to get an understanding of this cute little novella that gives this couple a HEA! Totally steamy, and ends in the best happy-ever-after that makes readers swoon, it was a great short read from Julia! I love this author’s style of writing from her other series, but this one takes it to a new level with the steam coming off the pages! Overall it was a cute read! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I was so happy to be reunited with the members of the Random Acts of Crazy family!!! I didn't realize how much I had missed Darla, Trevor, Joe, Sam, Liam, Amy, Charlotte and of course Mavis until I heard that this book was coming out...Liam is going to ask Charlotte to marry him..finally..if you read Random Acts of Hope you know that there two belong together...they are perfect for each other..fit like a glove so to speak..Well his plan is to pop the question on New Year's Eve, can he do it without running into any issues...will Darla, Joe and Trevor still be fighting..about what you need to read the book! This book had me laughing, sighing along with some oh-no moments and finally saying yup that happened and it could only happen in this series..this group takes you on journey's you will never forget. I loved Liam and Charlotte's journey in this book and can not wait to read more in the Random series. I want to thank Julia Kent for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book prior to it's release.
I can't tell you how happy I was to be back in the Random Acts of Crazy world. I missed all these characters, the hi-jinx, the complete crazy. I laughed so flipping hard as I always do because Julia just has that je ne sais quoi, the ability to string together words and throw in relevant current issues that have you both scratching your head and pulling up your phone to Google that mess lol. There are some serious moments as well As much as Liam can be a frat boy on speed, he holds some truly romantic magic in his bag of tricks and I definitely swooned.
Git sent an ARC copy of this book.Best Xmas Pressie ever ! I love Julia Kent and have followed the Random series from the beginning This book does not disappoint as we follow Liam trying his best to surprise Charlotte on New Years Eve despite Darla and the gangs best efforts to derail his plans. All the gangs here ,including Mavis and Esme the blow up doll. A laugh out loud book you cannot put down Thanks Julia cant wait for the next one
Another Random gig and this one focuses on Liam and Charlotte. A proposal’s in the works and anything that can go wrong does, in spectacular fashion. Add in some bedroom issues with Darla, Trevor and Joe (mostly Joe), the gig of a lifetime and New Year’s in Times Square and this book gives a whole new spin to ringing in the new year. You’re really going to love this one!
I didn't know how much I missed the members of RAOC until I got this latest installment in my hands!!
When this crew gets together, the ride is bound to be wild and insanely crazy. Going on this latest journey with Liam and Charlotte was amazing!! And that ending, OMG!!

This story was hilariously raunchy, as is typical for this series. I always laugh so much when I'm reading them that my husband thinks I'm losing it. The stories are so fun, and the characters are so wonderfully flawed -- I enjoy them all so much, and this one was no exception. This one also has a really sweet romance to go along with all the steamy times.
I would recommend, though, that you start with the 1st book in the series, Random Acts of Crazy -- as knowing all the characters and previous plot lines will make this book much better.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I read all 10 books in no time. Loved every single one of them. Was books from the very first one. Random Acts of Crazy Band and their significant other are all funny, complex character that leave you wanting more. They become like family to you. Trevor, Joe and Darla, omg they are hot together, steamy and funny. Liam and Charlotte are a hoot, he is a little bit crazy, has no filter and she is his other half; the one that completes him. Sam and Amy are very an awesome couple that has had to overcome some difficult struggles. Then on and off bass replacement for the band Frown and Maggie have their own story as well and they are great together. All these characters had some serious issues that they have had to work through, personal and otherwise. They are like onions, with so many layers to them. Well thought out and coming together into this magnificent series. I can't recommend enough. It is one of the best I've read in a while and made me laugh so hard my sides ached and my husband thought I was a loony. Lol, pin intended. They are all standalone novels but I recommend you start with the first one as characters are mentioned in each and to better understand their dynamics. Excellent, excellent series. I can not stress it enough.
